    Fricson Erazo- Barcelona (official)
Juan Carlos Paredes- El Nacional (almost official)
John Narvaez - El Nacional (almost official)
Elvis Bone - Liga de Quito (official)
    Edson Montano - Barcelona (official)
Carlos Feraud - Liga De Quito (not confirmed yet)
Luis Batioja & Rider Alvicar - El Nacional (official)
    Ivan Kaviedes- D.Quito

there's more i know of but too many to name.

Feel free to add names here if you hear of anything.

I'm gonna make one quick opinion on my thoughts of Fricson Erazo and JC Paredes moves to their respective new teams. Erazo made a took a risk going to Barcelona. Not trying to down talk about Barcelona in anyway, but their center backs (Perlaza and I. Hurtado) have their "puestos comprados". So Erazo is gonna have trouble starting. If he had stayed in el Nacional or had another option to migrate to Mexico or Europe, he should have taken it. In El Nacional he would have started all games for sure, been adapted to Quito's altitude, and not been risking his starting spot on the NT. Now he's gonna have obstacles to go against. I hope for his sake, he continues to work hard during his time in Barcelona and stands out in the team like he did in El Nacional. Good luck to Erazo, i know he's got a good head on his shoulders (i hope im not wrong). He's got a strong and disciplined personality.

JC Paredes going to El Nacional? I don't even understand this move. It's pointless and he won't have international exposure. On top of that i'm amazed that he'd go to a team that will most likely pay him a smaller salary than what he gets at D.Quito.

El nacional is smart for bringing in Batioja, Alcivar, and Narvaez (still unofficial). First time in a few seasons that they've made smart moves.

Good post, and thanks for making this thread.

I'm also confused about the Paredes move to El Nacional...but if Quito is bringing in new recruits, someone might challenge for his spot. Also, I don't think their books can be that straight with a bloated budget and such a small fan base...it's clearly not sustainable to live off endorsements. So this might be a way to clear some $$$?

The biggest bummer was seeing Erazo go to Barcelona...that's another six months (at least) of no international games at a time when he should be maximizing his opportunities. Rumors to Lazio were clearly false, but I know interest from Mexico was real...maybe there's something else that we don't know going on the background.

You can add in Narciso Mina going to Barcelona (official?).

There was a rumor going around that Barcelona were set to acquire the Paraguayan Adalberto Roman from River for a hefty sum. Now I have no idea if this rumor is true all I know is that he is going to join one of Ecuador's biggest teams. If in fact that team is Bacelona then I think Erazo joining them is even more of a bad move on his part. Ultimately his decision is going to based on money, and I cant blame him, he has to look out for his family. My gut feeling is that the offer from Argentina will not match up to that of Barcelona's and he's going to sign with them. If his choice is staying in Ecuador, he could do a lot worse than staying on with El Nacional, they might just make it to the Copa Libertadores where he'll have a good a window as any to impress.

Supposedly Giovanny Caicedo is set to join Chivas USA. With Jorge Guagua going to Atlante, could it be that Roman is joining Liga? Crazy. Time will tell.

And Erazo hasn't signed anything, he said so himself. Barcelona and and El Nacional negotiated the transfer, but he has yet to officially sign with them.

I think it was a good decision on his part not to go to Barcelona. Nothing against them but with El Nacional he'll have a chance to play Copa Libertadores. He should continue working on his craft, he can still improve. He has to work on his aerial game IMO, that being said he has a lot of potential and he's still young so he can still get a decent offer from Europe or a competitive league like Argentina or Brazil.

Thank God Erazo didn't go to Barcelona. He personally said he realized it wasn't time to do that. That move was risky. Playing in El Nacional means more playing time not only in his club team but also with the NT. He's at that point in his career where his next move could either make it or break it (if he had chosen to go to Barcelona). He'll be adapted to Quito's altitude stayin in El nacional and also have a great shot at leaving within the next 6 months if his move doesn't happen now. If he makes the move to Mexico within the next few weeks i won't be surprised. It's what will most likely happen right now b/c a transfer to Europe won't happen til after June and that means he'll have to stay in El nacional for the Primera Etapa of 2012.

    Good luck to Erazo.

They're total BS more half the time. You can add in Morante going to France and Martinez also going to Portugal as some of the more recent ones.

Jose Ayovi has signed for Barcelona and will play for them in 2012. Bad move on his part IMO...not only is going to have a lot of competition to start given all the moves they have made to acquire forwards meaning there's going to be a lot of competition to play-Montano, Mina, Borghello-and very little room for error. He should have stayed at Independiente where he most likely would have started every game, which is what this kids needs. He's talented but very raw...

Jose Ayovi should have stayed in Independiente. The only way he'll start is b/c of the juvenil regulation. He better pray that him and Narciso together get the starting spot (cuz they good chemistry from what i saw in Independiente) b/c Edson Montano is hungry and has more potential than any other forward Barcelona has. In all honesty, I hope Edson Montano and Jose Ayovi have a great season and finish off being a good duo. Our futbol needs as many strikers as we can get.

My major beef with Edson Montano is that the dude is a total ball hog...like Benitez or Guerron on their worst days of hogging. The individualistic part of a players mentality should be shed when they look at teams like Barcelona or even U de Chile...that shit right there is total team playing in cohesion. If our guys can learn that mentality and system- watch out world! For now, I still look at Montano as a kid with a huge upside but lacking certain fundamentals that can take him to the next level. We ask ourselves why did he underachieve at Gent?

smh Fricson Erazo. El Nacional fans are sh*tting on him right now. Lost lots of respect.

Anyways, Mendez, Carlos Tenorio, and Elvis Bone are official for Liga. Quiroz seems to be as well, but i'll still need to confirm this by later today. Supposedly it's a done deal according to his agent.

Lucas Acosta is out of Liga, thank you. And Equi i think decided to go back to Argentina. I'm gonna miss that good futbol he had.

Miller Bolanos looks to be leaving to the MLS....what the FAHK!!!!

that is totally a bizarre move. he should have gotten healthy, played a good season, and then been marketed out to Mexico or a smaller team in Europe...this kid has loads of potential...If this move does go through, I hope he has the impact Plata had and can be a presence in a big market US team where his talents are able to be seen on TV.

Took me by surprise too...bad move on his part. He should have stayed at Liga, where he had a chance to play regularly and repaired his image. He has loads of potential but lacks discipline IMO. He does have NT team material tho

This news about Miller is AWFUL. I just read about it. WTF. SO MUCH POTENTIAL going to the MLS WTFFFFFFFFFFFF NOOOOOO!!! What a waste if it goes through!! He transfered to Liga when he was 18, he's 21 now and he's gonna end up in the MLS???!! HELL NO!! But at the same time it's his own fault. He never ended up having a complete season where he could show what he's truely made of (injuries and lack of discipline screwed him over). The most playing time he had was his first year when he played as a juvenil. I'm gonna miss Miller if he leaves. That kid made a difference on the field and it was awesome watching him play.

But LDU4ever, i honestly think this move is gonna happen. Liga is gonna have a packed midfield this season and we are only going to play the campeonato in the first 6 months. It's gonna be hard for Miller to play if he gets injured or gets himself in some sort of trouble. That would be a financial loss for the team. So now is the opportunity to make some money transferring Miller to the MLS. I guess Esteban Paz came to the conclusion that Miller can't be dependable throughout the entire season for the reasons i've explained earlier. Sucks, but i hope a miracle happens and a Mexican team picks him up. I really wanted to see that kid make it to the NT this coming year, but now it seems tough.

Miller is a really quiet kid though, which is what is so surprising when you hear about the discipline problems. Talking to him and seeing his demeanor, you wouldn't expect it. And I think a lot of it is just him not attending practices or coming late. After practice the kid keeps to himself, gets in his car, and bolts home (I am assuming). I think his history is Kaviedes-like on the parenting/childhood problem side- it's also no surprise that kids from Afro-Ecua households are generally underpriviliged and in socially disadvantaged positions relative to mestizo and white kids- my research indicates such. But in all honesty, as a professional, all that stuff has to be put to the side...especially when you're making sick money. Hopefully the kid is healthy this year and if he goes, I wish him well, but if he stays, even better. Imagine having him for a full season with no injuries and playing at a high level. Shit, that kid can play anywhere in the midfield and up....frightening!!! In my opinion, he does deserve the big contract out to Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, or to Europe. Sadly these decisions are weighed more on agents looking to maximize their money. If he comes to the US, I'll pay the kid a visit.

If our midfield has Vera, DLC, Mendez, Cheme, Hidalgo, Urrutia, Chucho, Araujo, Miller, Reasco and Manso...that is stacked to an unfathomable degree. Plus 2 juveniles...jeeeez.

I've been anxious to see Miller have at least a consistent 4 months. There are 2 players I'm dying to see on the NT and he's one of them, the other one is Fernando Gaibor. Of course Gaibor deserves it a lot more due to the performances and playing time he's had. Gaibor had a really awesome second semester. To the point where he benched players considered "starters" in Emelec. Miller is a really valuable player to our futbol, he just needs THAT season to prove it. Unfortunately not many footballers in Ecuador are as gifted with the ability to play anywhere on the midfield like he can. All he needs to do is improve his defensive skills and he can easily take over the role that Mendez is leaving on the NT.

Wherever he is next season, I hope he does really well and finally has that break out season that he's needing in his career. It's time.

El Nacional is about to add Dennis Quinones and Luis Congo to their ranks. Good move on their part. They have been doing good moves so far, they signed Anangono and Hugo Velez long term. They brought in two promising youngsters in Batioja and Alcivar. Rumor has it thst they're looking at Narvaez as a potential replacement for Erazo. Only bad move they did was transferring Erazo to an Ecuadorean team that will be a contender next season. But if they hadn't moved him they wouldn't have the money to be doing all these moves. I would have been happy if they moved Erazo to el exterior but I guess Barcelona was the team offering more money and better terms.

As for Barcelona letting go of Quinones, this could be a classic example of them letting go of a promising young player. Bunch of morons IMO, Dennis has a lot of potential. Their business plan and long term vision is complete bull shit. They would rather spend money on overrated and over priced foreigners and domestic players instead of investing the money on their youth system and player development. Oh well...maybe one day they will realize that you can't buy a championship...oh actually in their case they can (and have?) :O

Hernan Barcos is in the sights of Inter Milan according to some reports. Whether it goes through or not, that's a different story, but the news itself is exciting. He'll be a citizen by the year's end if I'm not mistaken, so if he leaves, Liga will surely get some big money, and he'll be eligible for the NT.
