The organization has barely been restructured, and with some of the things we are already hearing about current roles, it seems like a lot of those title changes were just that, title changes. Hollow management shuffling.

The new coach. Where do we begin? Let's just say that obviously we have no idea how good or bad Jay will be, but it's fairly obvious to media and fans that this wasn't a desired hire. So, while there is reason to be patient with Heaps, and there is potential for him to also be great, the initial public reaction of cautious pessimism doesn't go without merit.

Statements of commitment? Yawn. Same shit, different day. Actions are the only things that will change that. So far, there have been no real actions.

Very high draft picks are great. No denying that. While the fact that they got those high draft picks is because they sucked so bad, it is still a reason for optimism assuming they get the right player. So, I'll give you that one.

I don't see where this "HUGE rumbling" is going on. There is the hope of big things, but so far nothing real has happened. In most fans eyes, this team is far beyond the benefit of the doubt. Waiting and seeing is something fans are sick of, because they've been waiting and seeing for a generation. It's time for REAL change. Actions, or fan reactions.

So, my cousin visits the Revolution website on Saturday - repeatedly - and finds that the new jerseys aren't listed as an item for sale in the Revolution/Patriots on-line Pro Shop. This, despite the fact that pre-orders and orders purchased between November 25th and December 25th will be eligible for free personalization.

So, he sends an e-mail to onlineproshop@patriots.com requesting information on purchasing one of the new jerseys, while also making it known that he'd like to take advantage of the free personalization.

Saturday? No response to the e-mail. Sunday? No response to the e-mail. Monday? He receives a response to the e-mail... sent out at 1:10 PM ET. He accesses the Pro Shop website via the embedded link in the e-mail he received... places his order for a personalized 2012 Revolution home jersey... and he's informed "We're sorry this item is no longer in stock. Please check again soon as we try to restock popular items."

Voila! Another ecstatic New England Revolution customer is born.

I bet he was trying to purchase a Large home jersey because message that the item is no longer in stock appears at checkout.

So, not having enough items in stock to order is a failure or at least let people order it and have it shipped later. As a business, they can't make it this difficult for people to give them money.

And the best kits of 2012 go to... The Portland Timbers. Man, they just can't do anything wrong. These are probably my favorite MLS jerseys of all time. Absolute classics. They really went into a lot of detail on these. Only gripe is that I wish Adidas had used the trefoil logo instead of the modern one, but supposedly they're against doing that. Regardless, bravo Adidas and Portland Timbers.

Seattle should have made their new thirds a little more historically inspired, they're almost there based on some old kits I saw, a little more less electricity plz

As clever as your comment is (it did make me laugh, despite the fact that it is a total cliche) I believe that when teams can show that they have history it gives them a degree of credibility and commands some respect. Especially in a young league competing with leagues that are hundreds of years old. (You also can not fake history by putting 96 on your shield...you aren't fooling anyone dallas.)

When a team can show that they have a strong tradition and history, even if they are crappy now, It makes me respect them more. Look at Derby, Forest, and Leeds. Are they just crappy second tier clubs right now? Yes. but at one point they were unstoppable, and they have generations and generations of tradition and support.

If a team name is grounded in legitimate regional reasoning, despite how stupid it may be, I respect it more than a team named after a random animal or a tacky reference to a foreign league (Sporting KC).

Sorry to go on a rant. I just think history makes clubs more legit, and the name of a club more acceptable.

On that note, I want the MLS to have a throwback week similar to the way other leagues do. I'd love the revs to trot out in their ridiculous (...ly awesome) original '96 jerseys (which should only be available in xxxl) against the San Jose Clash.

    I think that's shallow.

Our league is young and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It shouldn't be something that we're ashamed of. Saying that one club is better than the other because of it's "history" is absolute hogwash.

Should we study and learn from our history? Yes. Should we bask in it? No. Dwelling too much in history is bad for the human condition

Tradition and history are what make sports what they are. The history of the Sounders, Timbers, and Whitecaps is what is pushing this league to what it is today. We can only hope that the Revs will have left that strong an impact on their region after 35 years.

I don't really get all the petty hate for the Sounders fans and their "inventions." If anything it just comes across as desperate and jealous.

They have enough history that their fans insisted on Sounders being the name of the team when they came to MLS. They had enough history to still outdraw the Revs when they were playing in a minor league. The list goes on...

I love it personally; it's a very clean, simple design. I like the trim, the collar, and hell, I like the fact that they even got Alaska Airlines to offer their 70s wordmark for the jersey. If adidas would've gone back to their retro logo, it would've been perfect.

It comes from the unbelievable arrogance of a large section of the Sounders fanbase on various social media sites when they came into the league. Their condescending attitude towards fans of long-established teams and grandiose predictions was only matched by the intense irony of how many of them hadn't been to a single USL/pre-MLS Seattle game.

The irony of this statement is that all current uniforms ARE made of polyester.
