I know the way Mr Speed went is not a good way, but I still want to pass along my condolensces to all the Welsch people. Sorry for what happened.
It's comments like this that anger me so much. He was obviously depressed to the point where he couldn't bare life anymore, so it's hardly a cheap way to go, but more like the ONLY way to go. Until you suffer from a terrible illness like depression just keep them ignorant comments to yourself. Gary Speed was a teriffic footballer and contributed greatly to the game. He will be greatly missed by us REAL football fans.
Well its a pity people like you get angered over something which could of been avoided had the person seeked professional assistance. Instead he left a grieving wife and two young children to live with the awful reminder that their father took his own life - and he had alot more money and lifestyle rewards than bitter folks like you will ever have. If you are suggesting that I have to get an illness like depression so that I don't have to post my opinions for REAL football fans to read - well why don't you find yourself a rope?
Guys please!Stop it!It's not the point of this thread... My last post was a few weeks back and I came back to see what people here thought about this.I'm surprised that this thread does not have more messages.Anyway,I was sadened when I read the news. It's very unfortunate that he had problems to the point where he couldn't take it anymore and did the unthinkable.Hopefully we will find out more in the next few days/weeks... RIP Gary Speed
I think that it is sad that he died in such a way. But this is not the place to get silly over the way he left others behind. He obviously had problems that was bubbling underneath but did not sought help before the depression made him think that there was one way to deal with it. Once that mind trap has caught his thinking that way, if it difficult to find a solution. Having said that, there has been a rise of players contacting the clinic set up by Tony Adams to deal with mental problems before it gets to the point of no return. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/nov/29/gary-speed-troubled-players-clinic?newsfeed=true However I urge posters to be remind that signs of disgust or anger is not respectful to the player and his family who are in moaning and need time to heal. This is not the right time. Death is a tragedy no matter what circumstances has occur.
