A lot of carnage in round two. This might end up being the closest contest we've ever had. We have a six-way tie at the top and just seven points separate the top 33 at this point.

Of the final 16 teams remaining,

Who does everything think will win it all?

Biggest disappointment if they don't win it?

Possible cinderella team to watch out for?

Not your question. If Louisville wins, I win. If not, I don't.

I'm with you xpowerout.... I believe Sasho at the very least gets them to the cup. Louisville will be tough and you can make the case that this game is the game for Maryland to win. The winner between UCLA and Rutgers doesn't scare me or more importantly shouldn't scare Sasho's gang for one of those 2 team coming to Ludwig if Maryland wins tomorrow. Maryland already has played and beaten Rutgers. UCLA has to make that 1000 mile trek. Not good for the Bruins.

But time to take care of business tomorrow against the Cardinals. I believe it's the first meeting ever between the programs. Also tomorrow game might have some repercusions on a rising high school junior player that both programs are recruiting....

Well, we probably aren't going to see any Prediction Contest scoring records fall this year :)

    For instance:

    • No one picked St. Mary's or Charlotte to make it to the final eight.
    • 33 entrants selected Maryland to advance to the final eight
    • 26 picked New Mexico to make the final eight
    • 21 had Akron in the final eight
    • Two posters have just one team remaining; only one of them picked that team to win it all.

    However:

    • 18 posters have their championship match alive
    • 28 have their champion alive
    • Three posters have their entire final four alive: JoeSoccerFan, Schwebin and Libric

Without further ado, here are the leaders heading into the quarterfinals (please check your score):

    1. 61 JoeSoccerFan
    2. 57 Schwebin
    3. 55 midfieldmadness
    4. 53 slufan13
    5. 53 iTiMxB
    6. 53 tubby_butter
    7. 52 bisbee

JoeSoccerFan has claimed the inside track up till now--six out of the eight quarterfinalists-- but will his picks survive the next round? He likes Louisville an awful lot.

my fortunes lie with Louisville. It was a risky pick given that I was the only one to pick them to win.

FYI to everyone. I'll have the updated standings later. It might be a couple of days, but I'll have it up before the start of the College Cup. I would have had them posted by now, but my laptop was swiped last week while I was traveling.

Sorry about your laptop, brave. Here's hoping you had all your files backed up.

While we are waiting for your official update, here’s an unofficial (and not doublechecked) tally —who picked the most winners in the quarters and still has the most teams standing in the semis and the finals? No one had all four winners in the quarters correct, but 4 people had 3.

    a. Who picked 3 (right in quarters) + 2 (alive in semis) + 1 champion (alive)? 3 people: torwart, schwebin, and midfieldmadness
    b. 3+1+1 ----1 person: 24seven
    c. 2+2+1----10 people
    d. 2+1+1---- 5 people
    e. 2+1+0 ---- 6 people
    f. 1+1+1 ---- 7 people
    g. 2+0+0 ---- 2 people
    h. 1+1+0 ---- 4 people
    i. 1+0+0 ---- 4 people
    j. 0+0+0 ---- 1 person

I picked UNC to beat UCLA in the semis, but since I'm a west coaster and have gotten a chance to see/hear UCLA play more recently, I'm hoping against my bracket interest that I was wrong.;)

I messed up my bracket like a moron. I picked Duke, Creighton, UCLA and UNC in the Final Four. Duke and Creighton are in the same bracket, someone two foot me studs up

New around here... wanted to get some talk in before loading up the bus tomorrow morning. I guess this is the closest thing to a College Cup thread as we'll get before I'm Bama bound.

Regardless of what happens in Hoover, I could not possibly be happier with this season or more proud to be a Niner.

This run has been amazing, here's hoping it continues.

    GO NINERS!

I believe you have some scores wrong. I made an excel for the contest and have it updated before the Final 4 results.

fknbuflobo, bisbee, and bobbyake(akronsbobert) have the same exact brackets on zipsnation. The points should look like this:

    fknbuflobo 79, bisbee 68, akronsbobert 74

What you just posted has the same scores I do for fknbuflobo and bisbee as of the start of the College Cup. I don't know your handle on the other site. I'm assuming it's not in the image.

I appreciate folks double-checking my tallies (especially since my laptop was stolen last weekend), but what you typed and the image you posted aren't the same.
