החלוץ אור ברוך ביקש להיבחן, מכבי חיפה נענתה - One.co.il According to this article, Orr Baruch is waiting for approval from MLS to train with Maccabi Haifa but has asked the club to give him a trial. It doesn't make sense to me since isn't he on loan from Tigres de la UANL? It also states that if Baruch doesn't play well for the under-21 side against France, then they probably won't offer him a trial.
Good for him? I don't know how the logistics would work, but I think it would be a good trial for him to see where he's at. We all know that he's a bench warmer on the FIRE.
Do we? More like super sub there chief... A bench warmer doesn't play in 28 of his team's 34 league games at age 19. I'd call Gabriel Ferrari a bench warmer, not Orr Barouch.
Let him go we can find a snail running post hitting oafish forward elsewhere. Never understood what they see in him. Not a good target guy, didnt receive the ball well, often lost it, and while he had a quick shot its very innacuurate. I would just as well see Ferrari get the minutes. He probably would have done just as well. Besides we need to make room for Drogba. Only downside is his relatives wont get a pregame ball given to them in the stands by the Fire players at EVERY home game
Result Barouch wearing number 14 Israel Under-21 2-1 France Under-20 Fulltime Highlights can be viewed here. Orr Baruch had a good match and assisted on the first goal. No idea if this will influence the decision of Maccabi Haifa. I think that the two sides will play each other again.
He's 19 years old. He played 745 minutes total almost exclusively as a sub this year in MLS and Open Cup and bagged 5 goals... one goal every 149 minutes... Not bad for a 19-year-old super sub seeing his first first-team action ever. Added two assists on two big goals in the last two matches of the season (both wins). Finally, don't be an ass.
Is his opinion. Is he worth the purchase fee? I guess we do not know what the fee is so we can't really tell. I mean how much would you pay Tigeres for a 20 year old that will be your forward sub?
I thought he was our best target forward by far. He's only going to get better. He exceeded expectations, I don't think anyone could have asked or expected more from him at the beginning of the year.
Let him go train, what does it hurt? I wouldnt pay more then 200000 in terms of a fee. His play reminds me a lot of Kenny Coopers. Both very big have good quick feet. But are soft and struggle playing the target role.
i liked what i saw from Barrouch this season, and really wanted to see him on the field more. i think he has good field vision and knows how to move off the ball better than some of the other attacking players on the Fire (pappa - i'm looking at you) i really hope the Fire can retain him for next season
The guy played in almost every game this year at 19. He's developing...one of those players we could have, you know, for the future. I wouldn't pay a ton of money to get him, but he's a talent that's proven at a young age that he can hack it in MLS... I guess we could go try our luck in the Drafts again (we selected like 5 forwards this year, none of which are with the team), we could go try and sign another young forward that could or could not work out, or we could pay a small fee to get a guy that's already shown he can do it in this league, and by the way, says he loves playing in Chicago. As long as it's not an exorbitant fee, I'd hope we bring Orr back.
We can only hope, but I really don't see it. I think he'll be decent, but he'll leave before he becomes the player we all hope him to be.
This is a good point. There is a limited number of opportunities to sign domestic talent that isn't subject to international slot restriction. You're right that we probably won't find better than Barouch in the draft.
No hes a bench warmer..a supersub? on this team? Isnt that like the shortest midget!?!? Fine he wants to follow the foot steps of the brilliant idiotic moves of Benny Feilhaber he can be my guest.. Bob Bradley told the kid to stay in MLS and develop his game.. he didnt listen...look wheres hes at now.. Barrouch would be better served looking to find an MLS team where he can get more minutes not go overseas to a second rate league if that
Thats weird, considering Benny Feilhaber had never played in MLS when Bradley called him up... he was actually in Germany, then went to Derby and never even went to play in Israel. Trial gets used a lot for MLS players in the offseason when they're simply just training stints... Klopas said that Orr would be training, not trialing with Maccabi Haifa, like Sean Johnson is training, not trialing with Manchester United. A bunch of MLS players do the same thing every year and Orr was already in Israel with the U21s. I don't think he's trying to go to Maccabi Haifa, he's said he likes playing here, he's over there for the offseason so why not take the opportunity to stay in shape? I also can't tell if you'd actually like him to stay or not, you seem to ridicule his decision to train there by also saying he's not very good.
Figured this is as good of a place to put it as any: Chicago signed Orr Barouch and obtained full rights from Tigres http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2011/12/02/signed-sealed-delivered-barouch-back-fire “Orr is a talented, hardworking striker that played a significant role for us last season,” Fire head coach Frank Klopas said in a statement released by the club. “He embodies the type of player we’re looking for and is someone that we see enormous potential for in the future.” i keep forgetting the kid is only 20. If we look at Gulley who is 17/18, the Fire's depth at striker is quite young. We could also lump Nazarit in, but it has been stated that he's not in their plans for 2012.
perhaps foreshadows a transfer for Pappa in the future. Orr wouldnt have been free to obtain, so i would imagine Fire ponying up the cash. Couldnt have been too much, but i suspect it wouldnt have happened if they werent expecting some extra revenue He's being linked with a possible training stint with Athletico Madrid (along with Nyarko). Of course the link im referring to says "possible" training stint.
Agree not a bad price at all. Ives was saying that there is already interest in Europe for him so we should be able to sell him for a profit in a couple of years.
