Come on, FC Tucson, update your website. At least Stu updates the Monsoon site. If you are keeping score at home: We have one 'team' that updates their website every time they want to pimp their branded water but isn't playing in any games. Versus A team that is actually playing games in a league but is still advertising an event that took place 2 months ago. I guess we have to start somewhere. EDIT Just saw on FC Tucson's Facebook page that they are rolling out a new website. Good for them.

Who is FC Tucson? Do they play in a league or just scrimmage matches? They seem to be playing teenage teams a lot. "Championship?" Is this a highschool championship?
FC Tucson is an amateur team, not unlike the AZ Sahuaros. They are entering their 2nd season and according to a recent announcement, have joined the PDL.
Waiting for more info, but the owners have said, "Were going to join a league for next season." There highlight of the year is the FC Tucson Desert Cup.
So where is this team going to end up? Is there a possibility that they and the Monsoon play in the same league, that seems like the best way to go anyway.
FC Tucson is basically a leagueless scrimage team. Phoenix Monsoon is long on marketing and short on action. Phoenix is never going to have a D1 soccer team. No owners group or municipality is going to shell out the money to build an indoor climate controlled stadium. I propose that Arizona just start it's own intra-state winter league. Fall through spring is an excellent time for soccer in Arizona. The league could be made up of FC Tucson Phoenix Monsoon Arizona Sahuraros FC Glendale FC Casa Grande The Devils of Tempe FC Chandler FC Mesa I'm not saying that I would travel across town to watch these games, nor would I buy $300 season tickets, but I think the league could be run under rules that work for Arizona's climate and much more economically than NASL, PDL, or NPSL. Play a regular season, then a tournament, Oct - Jan. Then the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams can offer their services as a scrimmage team against the MLS teams that come here for winter training. Make the games a community event. Encourage people to ride their bikes, bring their dogs, and bring a picnic lunch. Use sponsors to pay for jerseys and travel cost.
Well then we need to spread the idea. We also need to get the type of people that would organize these teams and a league together and start them to talk about this idea. Phoenix Pro Soccer, MLS Phoenix Rising, FC Tucson, Phoenix Monsoon....are you listening?
OK, I started a new thread to discuss an Intra-Arizona Winter League. Let's see if there is any interest.
Congratulations FC Tucson. My only concern for them now is attendence during the PDL regular season in Arizona's blistering heat.
We had pretty good attendance this year. Of course all the games were at night. We do not get as hot as your valley does at night either. We do not have as much of that heat island effect. That is one advantage of having less concrete and more dirt. ha ha.
