Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Besler had sent this" "If you're not using TweetCaster as your mobile twitter app you need to asap...it has the best and most features! @Handmark" Not sure which was first though.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 So Beasler scored the team's first endorsement deal I see. Jealous much?
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Not necessarily true. Twitter has been a place were a lot of the players have endorsed products. Have you not noticed the Chipotle tweets from Kie, or the smoothie king tweets from Kempin
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 To be fair, I don't know that any of those are actually endorsement deals. Kei just ahs an unnatural love of burritos.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Do you think they pay for them? I have a good hunch they dont
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Today at 2 p.m., I'll be hosting a live chat on KansasCity.com. So, please, check in later this afternoon to ask questions, discuss theories, bag on Pacific Northwest fans and/or whatever. Link to come.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 2 things for those of you that don't get sports illustrated (i only get it because of extra rewards points). every issue they have a who's hot who's not bit. they just list 4 things that are hot in the world of sports and then list 4 things that are somewhat related on the opposite end. skc gets a mention as one of the "hot" items. it goes on to say: the "not so sporting" opposite bit belongs to chicago forward nazarit for getting suspended and fined, and dc's davies for his diving fine. then, on the very next page, they have another regular bit they always do called "the pop culture grid." they take 4 athletes and then get simple responses to pop culture stuff. skc's own teal bunbury is one of the 4. here are his 5 responses: "if i were a transformer, i'd turn into..." teal: optimus prime "i'd never take a cellphone pic of..." teal: teammate michael harrington "favorite girl scout cookie" teal: thin mints "july 4th vacation dream spot" teal: nyc "book in my summer beach bag" teal: applying the kingdom, by myles monroe nothing incredible here, but it's always interesting to see skc get some love in large publications like this. i've seen kei on that pop culture thing before, if i recall correctly... and i'm almost positive i remember seeing jimmy conrad a year or so ago.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Nice find, man. I don't read the mag, but its good to know when we get exposure on that level, as little as it may be.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 What a great interview. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. A must listen to podcast, i am sure it is up on 810's website somewhere. KK came out with hard and very strong questions. He even busted out Rob's call the day after the home opener.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 I agree. Maybe the most "professional" treatment of a soccer related interview I have heard. Granted, I am out of market so havent heard THAT many, but was refreshing to hear an interview with that much focus instead of just the usual media-plug. Was great to hear the interviewer repeate multiple times that "Kansas City teams just don't make this big of a turn around". Was kind of a dig at the Royals and Chiefs, and praise for SKC.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Nice little article on Yahoo this morning - New stadium, new name, new attitude for MLS in KC
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 saw this on twitter about our homegrown keeper. http://bundesligafanatic.com/?p=4580
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Zusi interviewed on Fox Soccer Report's MLS Pulse. Nice of FSC to show highlights of the Newcastle match.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 LA Times article from yesterday: After rough start, Sporting has the look of a Cup contender
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Basehor Sentinel Kamara, Bravo power Sporting KC to rout of Toronto, run streak to 12
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Probably the first time I've seen a SKC player commenting on an article about themselves. Nothing groundbreaking, but still amusing nonetheless. So they do indeed read these things. Aurelien Collin
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2011/08/sbi-mls-player-of-the-month-omar-bravo.html#tp SBI names Bravo their POTM for July.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 New (short) piece by Grant Wahl on LSP and SKC's ownership. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/grant_wahl/08/04/sporting.kc/index.html Tidbits that I didn't know or had forgotten: * Roof = $20M * 2013 MLS All-Star game "is almost guaranteed"
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 I did not have a burger since the first watch party til last night, wow, did they somehow get worse in that time frame? It was a near puck and tasted like crap. My love of the MC, while never much, continues to wane.....
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 I've bought 1 burger a game basically every game. They've been fine until last night, burger was over cooked and dry, and the bun was stale.
Re: Sporting Kansas City in the Media: 2011 Yeah, if I would have eaten earlier in the day, I would have chucked it but I was so hungry that I stomached it down. Not enjoyable at all.
