Yeah. Saudi not being on pot one, Saudi could be headed for difficult place just because their in pot two.

But still, I'm thinking Saudi would have no real problems finishing top-two in the group to go to final round.

Looking at the fixtures,Saudi should qualify early before they meet Aussies away.Any downturn in the early matches can prove costly because we are not used to play Aussies at there home,so it will be difficult to analyse the overall game conditions in Australia if we are in do or die stage in the last match day..

Our first match against OZ is a MUST win. We need to exploit our home advantage to the fullest extent.

I think they should rotate venues all across the country like Italy do. Particularly since we have some under utilised venues. you can have a game in Abha, one in Hofuf, one in Ta'if etc..

Why the game against Austalia is in Dammam ?
Shouldn't it be played in Jeddah where crowd pressure will be enough to win the match?

Any idea if Saudi Arabia is going to play any friendly matches for preparing well against Australia ?

Moreover, who are the players in the national squad ? Any news ?

I hope Saudi gains maximum points i.e., 9 out of 9 points, for all the home games and also get 7 points minimum out of 9 points available in away matches (probably getting a draw against Australia in the last match)...

Saudi Arabia should really eye itself to get maximum 6 poinst each against both Oman & Thailand ... Frank should keep this in mind ...

I dont know.I am not the one who decided it.:D
Anyways i wanted the matches to be played in other cities like Qassim where you have a huge 40k stadium and also in one in Makkah.
Regarding the Jeddah, i dont like the crowd support in Jeddah, which makes the match dull and less attractive.

Still the news about the friendly match and the team is not announced.Hope we have the same team that played against Hong Kong with some changes like Saad Harthi in place of Yousef Salem and Saud Kariri and Ahmed Fraidy to be in.

Where is Naif Hazzazi? He is the best Header in Saudi National Team ...

Is Yasser Al Qahtani out of Saudi NT ?
    +
Isn't he fit now as he scored in all the games he played for Al Hilal in the Training Camp in Germany which concluded this week?

Why was Ahmed Al Faraidi out from the NT in the first place ?

Moreover, Saad Al Harthi never impressed (IMO) when he played for the National Team and he never scored in crucial matches (apart from Iran in Riyadh in WCQ2010) ... or he only scored when KSA was in a winning position ... I believe that he has to prove himself ... he couldn't do anything while playing for Al Nasr, what can he do for KSA... Yousef Salem is better than him and only thing he needs is more experience at the senior level ...

Oman is playing a friendly match against Bahrain on 10 August 2011 in UAE. If Saudi Arabia is not playing any friendly match at the moment & that Saudi Arabia have not announced NT players as yet so, I believe that this is an opportunity for Frank Rijkaard to view the match between Oman & Bahrain and see if he can find out any weak points during their game for Saudi Arabia to take full advantage of them when KSA plays against Oman.

Oman will also play a friendly match against Kuwait ...

Where is Saudi Arabia? ... I hope Saudi FA is taking these qualifying matches seriously .... KSA should look to gain at least 4 points out of these first 2 matches ...

Fair team selection (not bad) but it is very weak team if they will play against Australia ... This team seems to be a mixture of youth & experience ... though no one can fill the gap of Noor ...
Ahmed Al Fraidi will be a key player as he has all the skills but needs to focus on his passing ...
