Opps. Misread that from a previous post. Could be a few things but most likely it is either 1) AO is a larger organization and therefore has greater purchasing power getting us a bigger discount, or 2) AO and Sams Army have marked their tickets up at different rates.
Cool, I don't understand why some on the board don't want this match. It's USA / Mexico, Mexico / USA!
Because its a meaningless friendly scheduled to make Sunil more $ which will not help advance the squad whatsoever. My Wcx tickets vs Mexico in the supporters section were $25. I am not paying $60 for the same ticket for a friendly. Plus it's 9pm on a Wednesday...... out. Majority of the folks in the NJB and ESC feel this way....
I'm not for Sunil but the rivalry in and of itself intrigues me.The Linc should be sold out, although it seems like a money grab. I was at the Gold Cup Final, so I just saw this match with a title on line, and I see it the same way.
Stay at this holiday inn...I'm from NJ, but when the Flyers play late night playoff games and my parents don't want to drive home at 12, we stay here. It's clean, right by the stadiums, i'm sure it will be filled with USA fans etc http://www.holidayinn.com/hotels/us/en/philadelphia/phlps/hoteldetail
To the folks from Philly, I'm staying at one of the two following cheapest options: Econo Lodge (Free ride to and from airport) [$68] or Microtel [$70] since I'm only there for one night and going to be there by myself. Both are in close proximity to the airport, but I just need to know about the possible ways of getting to the stadium from those two hotels. Also, which sections are the designated "supporters" sections for AO so that I can buy a ticket. I missed the deadline because I'm OCD about trip details. P.S. Delta's rountrip from Atlanta is $184.40.
@MesaATLien- Sweet handle. There's a train from the Airport that can take you to Suburban Station in Center City Philadelphia. From there you could take the subway from City Hall (block or two away) down to the stadium. Hit up Septa.com for train times. The airport line is called the R1.
Awesome. Thanks!! Although I'm starting to wonder if one night for a weird friendly (honestly, who saw this coming after the Gold Cup?!?) is worth the $350...I want to go, but if not, I'll always have the Brewhouse as my backup.
Very surprised to be saying that I may be going to this game. An AO Tucson member is willing to pay for my plane ticket & hotel (Downtown Mariott) if I just show him around. He said he gets major discounts with airfare & Mariott, so thats why he is paying. Anyways, I need 2 supporter tickets. Anyone willing to sell for the exact same price AO sold them for. Thanks.
So did the Supporter's Section completely sell out already? We had been checking every few days and somehow still missed the sale. And what section(s) is the USA zone this time around? Looking at StubHub there are literally over a thousand seats in the end we had for USA-Turkey (and that the SOBs had last night for Real Madrid), so that doesn't seem right. There's also StubHubbing going on in the other end zone, although nothing really in the 111-114 corner so are the USA fans getting squeezed in there? Hopefully they didn't screw you guys over and let seats in the section leak out to scalpers already, who will sell them to Mexico fans who will then try to mess with the GA seating and split up the supporters. And won't even get into how this is a USA home game so if hypothetically the Supporter's Groups immediately sell out 111-114 then they should get a crack at 110 as well, and so on. I know Sunil would rather sell out to all Mexico fans at 100+ bucks a pop then let USA fans in at the discount fan rate, but still seems counterintuitive since US Soccer have let us lose twice on home soil to them in the past 2 years.
I still have the AO link to purchase tickets, but it probably won't work if I pay now. I didn't want to order through them, because I wasn't sure if they would ship tickets or pickup at will call since I won't be at my purchasing address. So what's the supporters section?
Tickets for this game aren't selling very well. I assume people are waiting to see the rosters released for both teams. From what I've been hearing they are both bringing most of their full squads, makes sense as why would they do it anyother way. US/Mex have never scheduled a friednly and not brought solid teams. So if you are thinking of going, you should jump on buying them now before the scalpers get them.
Thanks for the info, repped, do you know any #'s of tickets sold. It would be really disappointing to see a half sold out lincoln financial field
