I do not approve. Dero is a head case. 3 teams in a half a ********ing year. jersey wouldn't get rid of him to a potential playoff rival if he was going to be good for us. Clearly he isn't working there. ******** ******** ********

*I so hope I'm wrong about this.

Tell me about it. I hope that we are still looking to acquire through the international market. DeRo has talent and I think he would respect Ben as they've battled on the field.

We just need a bit more.

I didn't like McCarty's giveaways to the opposing team. It's probably unfair on my part, but that is what I remember him for most. I actually liked the team better without him during his injury.

DeRosario? It just seems strange to imagine him on our team. We'll see.

I'll give him a chance. Veteran midfielder... emphasis on the veteran part. He's exactly what we need *IF* he clicks. Big if there, of course. But, of course, I can't argue that he IS DeRo...

Hmmm. A midfielder who can actually serve the ball forward? How refreshing.

Spread out over a couple of months, but essentially DC traded Rodney Wallace and got DeRo in exchange

[Rodney Wallace + lower of DC's 4th round picks in 2011 Superdraft] -> Dax -> DeRo

Tell us how you really feel.
Contrary to your feeling on the matter I'm excited for the first decent attacking central midfielder since gomez the first time. Red bulls didn't need Dero we didn't need dax. As for him being a head case I have faith in Benny's ability to reason with a player, having been one in the league for quite some time. I'd say it benefits both parties here. This and the acquisition of that center back gives us the option of kitchen in dmid which I thought was very effective the last time we used it.

this is a weird one... deRo is still a very good player, but for how long?

whereas, we were supposed to build our team around dax for the next 10 years... i know it hasn't gone as well as we wanted with him, but why pull the plug so quickly?

I know. But he's still DeRo. I guess we should be happy we didn't get Carlos Ruiz. Hopefully I just didn't jinx it.

DeRo makes $425K base and 493K, guaranteed. In his trade to jersey Toronto was still paying some of his salary but that should just about eat up whatever's left of dc's.

We just gave up a 23 y/o for a 33y/o. Great. Let's see what happens.

I agree that we need this type of player(sadly what McCarty wasn't). But IT is DeRo who is a lot older and has been a problem for MLS FOs

Still shows how DCU believes that a '10' is what cna fix our woes.

This can go REALLY good, or it can turn out DISASTEROUS... Curious to find out if this was the FO or olsen behind it.... or a little bit of both....

Sad to see dax go... but I want to be optimistic about it... and hope Dero' is the second coming of gomez (V1.0) for us.... for the next year AT LEAST...

Well this is one area where Benny has the advantage. He's played against DeRo on the field and I'm sure won't hesitate to lay an old fashioned Benny-style smackdown on him. You just don't try and out-crazy the Benny.

Wow this is so shocking, I hated Dax..but I loved to hate him!I really thought he would grow into a great player with us but oh well. That highlight reel of Rosario sure looks good (then again what highlight reel doesnt). That celebration sure is annoying to look at 15 times in a row but I sure wouldnt mind seeing it in a DC shirt ; )

REALLY not sure about this one. A lot of it comes down to how you view Dax. We just got a decade older in the center of our midfield but a lot more dangerous attacking.

Does the FO think we're ready to contend for a title within the next two years? That's probably the only way this makes sense.

    Love this move.

    Love it.

    LOVE it.

Dax was where our MF attack was going to die, because he was trying to be Simms and then Simms was pressing up into the 10 spot which doesn't work because Simms can only pass backwards or occasionally sideways. Granted, Dax had his best game against Houston, but prior to that...well, I'd had my fill of awful corners, bad fundamentals (you can't trap a ball with no pressure being applied? c'mon, man!) and bad passes.

I just hope DeRo has something left in the tank - if he does I can really see him being successful in pulling the strings on our young attack - because our attackers ARE making the right runs, etc. We also have someone other than Najar who can take freekicks now.

    Um . . .. Wow!?

    Love the player.

I think this is a playoff trade - Olsen wants playoffs this year.

Goes against the long-term view I thought Bennie was working on.

I have no idea if it's a good or bad move.

Looks like in 11th place right now overall and 6 pts behind the 8th place team. If going to make the playoffs need to start moving up the table now. Another month or so and going to be to late. Hopefully this works out.

Shock. Dax is young but I can't see how he's progressed this year. I think he looks great on paper but on grass, well, another thing. One good DeRo year is likely better than the ten years of so-so workmanlike but not outstanding play Dax would give us.

God be with ya, Dax. Play well except against the red and black, 'kay? Welcome, DeRo, show us whatcha got.

when dax came out versus Houston, our midfield went soft... Houston glided through them like they werent there. I was frustrated with him but we were better with him.
