I think the cauldron used to do this. Remember Jeff teaching it to me at a game. We should revive it, as I agree that it is a good one.
I was sitting in the West stand (northern portion), top row. La Bara sounded great from my vantage point. It seemed like the drum was projecting across the MS and field very well. Admittedly, it was almost directly across the width of the field from me. That said, drummers do always seem to be in the middle, Im assuming for a reason, right? Does the steepness of the north stand (versus the more subtle slope on the open east side) affect sound differently?
Any one remember this? We so need to do this again! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_e5AjFzvSA&feature=related"]YouTube - Settembre Bianconero 1974 . ForzaPicchio alé lalala..‏[/ame]
While we are at it I like this as well [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWIxp8HIF7U&feature=related"]YouTube - curva sud ascoli calcio‏[/ame]
When we had Claudio Lopez, I tried to start a chant with "Claudio" in place of "Ronaldo". It got shot down pretty firmly. YMMV My first thought when we picked up Graham Zusi was the "Wayne Rooney" chant. It's a lot cooler sounding and more fun than the MUFC 'Ronaldo' chant, and "Graham Zusi" fits perfectly in place of "Wayne Rooney". Yes, it would be a good fit, and it's a chant I really like - would it be too complicated for people to get into?
Probably. Anything more complicated than "First-name Last-name clapclap-clapclapclap" appears to be more than the average Cauldronite is prepared to face.
Agree we need to honor Zusi - can it happen in less than 24 hours? Also stumbled across this gem watching Futurama tonight: Name of Song/Chant: Bend It To the tune of: Bend It by Davy and Dee Dee (1968) Lyrics: Bend it, bend it, just a little bit C’mon now Zusi, show you're rockin' it And Sporting, you know that we're gonna win Right now 'cos I'm sure that we will begin With Arnaud, Bravo and Kamara Kick it forceful, show some hustle Bend it, bend it, just a little more We love you KC, now we’re gonna score But you can make me feel that I am sure I've got a sickness only you can cure So just relax, there's stacks of time, but Please don't tease me - try to please me Link to example of song: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTR06YItGVo"]YouTube - Dave Dee, Dozy ... - Bend it 1968‏[/ame] Added to the master document for new songs (avail to edit via Google Docs): https://docs.google.com/document/d/...cogFuVyH5njckrU/edit?hl=en_US&authkey=CP6uiU8
I move that we actually sing "First Name Last Name" *clap clap, clapclapclap* at some point during the next game.
Tune is (originally) Pop Goes The World by Men Without Hats... Which is also the basis for the "Oh, KC Wiz" song.
I was thinking the same thing... Works especially well for names that don't fit neatly in the 4 syllable pattern.
more 80s garbage fueled the tune for "one nil to the _______" and "how wide do you want the goal" etc. while we're on the subject... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NZ04BG7TfA as a rule, i consider catchy tunes to be bad music, so it's a plague that will continue. SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS

The Cauldron sounded great tonight. Loved the variety but with some of the chants I couldn't make them out. Would be great to get the Cauldron on tape and identify all the chants, for those of us outside the Cauldron wanting to clap/chant along. And as an aside, it is damn hard to get anyone to clap outside the cauldron. The only people I could get to clap and chant was the 8 year old in front of me because he probably thought I was silly/entertaining. There was one clap song near the 84th minute where the whole stadium got into it. That sounded NICE and LOUD.
I I believe I believe that I believe that we can I believe that we can win I believe that we can win I believe that we can win I believe that we can win I believe that we can win I believe that we can win
