It really doesn't take much to cause a meltdown around here, does it? After the way they looked in the last 2 games, I would have hoped that they were going to get some sort of rest anyway.
I don't see a meltdown, I see a conversation. If seeing a conversation re: the comings and goings, actions, behaviors, status of USMNT members offends you so much, I would suggest you not frequent forums dedicated to that very thing.
i understand the wedding issue for both individuals, but should Donovan and Dempsey start against Jamaica if they miss training? personally, i would say no, but it takes a coach with a lot of balls to do it. Bob should send a message that every spot on this team is earned. maybe we'll have a hungrier team by starting Bedoya and Kljestan in their place. my starting XI -----------------Altidore----Wondolowski------------------ Bedoya---------------------------------------------Kljestan ------------------Bradley-------Jones--------------------- Lichaj----------------------------------------------Cherundolo -----------------Bocanegra---Goodson--------------------- --------------------------Howard--------------------------
I understand your logic here but Bob is arguably fighting for his job. No way does he not put out his best players.
i agree that it is about 95% certain, they'll still start, but i really hope they do not. it is not that i do not want to win this game so we could have a coaching change because i am not willing to sacrifice the Gold Cup title nor a trip to the Conf Cup, but i just do not believe they deserve to start. if anything, maybe it'll reboot this team that is playing the most unmotivated soccer i have EVER seen from the US in i think ANY sport (maybe the "dream team" that lost to argentina in basketball was worse, idk). in short, i would rather lose knowing we had the players out there that gave their blood, sweat, and tears than a bunch of a primadonnas who don't give a damn.
Yep. I could see Xavi and Iniesta leaving training camp to go to a wedding a few thousand miles away right before the Euro 2012 quarter final...
I'm sorry, I use to play professional baseball, and you don't get time off during the playoffs to go to a wedding. If you cherish your job, you don't even ask. I'm surprised by much of the shenanigans that goes on in this federation. Speaking from experience, unless you had to deal with a medical emergency, you weren't going anywhere. And if you did, you packed your bags for the Mexican league and you didn't come back. Any other sport in this country, and the players would be too afraid to even ask. We are talking professional soccer players right?
When a team is scarce on talent the players have more pull. You usually don't see this type of thing in pro sports which is why this is so crazy. But it wont make a difference in respect to their starting spots no matter what people think. I wouldn't mind putting dempsey up top for this game and playing bedoya on the left, he's been pretty good when he's got a run.
Really? http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp...10428420&vkey=notebook_ana&fext=.jsp&c_id=ana http://articles.latimes.com/2000/dec/17/sports/sp-1285 And Clint and Landon aren't even going to be missing a game...
Great. So long as we know all 23 players are taking winning The Gold Cup and our opponents seriously, we can all be a little more at ease.
You're a replaceable piece. You are not Dempsey or Donovan (or Jeter or Rodriquez). There is a double standard in life. Deal with it. And they don't take time off to attend Royal weddings or testimonial matches either. basketball http://nba-facts-and-rumors.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22748484/27805832 baseball http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2...wis-for-witnessing-the-birth-of-his-daughter/
Let's just say Dempsey thinks Bob is a douchebag for not playing Freddy behing him. Speculation of course.
Yea they've both been so brilliant during the group stage that I'm sure traveling the night before the game won't affect them... oh wait
I heard Dempsey missed the goal on purpose because Bradley wouldn't let him play hip hop pregame in the locker room.
Good grief, there weren't this many panties in a wad when Gooch left National Team camp at the World Cup in 2006 to go secure his loan to....somewhere. (I am remembering that right, aren't I? Gooch did do that, right, or did I dream that?)
It was a potential transfer to Middleborough. But we were ranked 5th in the world at the time and were just coming off a huge win over Latvia in Hartford. Woe the Czech Republic having to face us.
We all knew how financially prudent USSF is. Apparently we were mistaken. Boys will be flying via PRIVATE flights! http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...-at-rfk-stadium/2011/06/16/AGfOsdXH_blog.html
Actually it was Eddie Pope, but he had to leave his mark because Keller tossed it straight to a CR player, who promptly burned past Eddie "The American Beckham" and was knifing in for the near post. For some reason, an in-form Bocanegra, was on the bench for that game.
