    1) Personally, because I'm there to watch the game when I'm at a watch party. I'm not really that interested in chanting.

    2) the VAST majority of the people at the known watch parties are the people that know the chants already.

    3) I know Jeff and Sean bust out chants fairly regularly at watch parties (or were doing so at Johnny's.)

Depending on what time these watch parties end I could go for something like that. BUT if the parties are at a bar I won't be able to drink because I work nights pretty much 7 days a week... and its about an hour drive back to Topeka from KC.

Obviously not the whole game but for 5-10 minutes before/after?

Understood, I was thinking new more complex chants like Horto Magicko. That is why I put in "new chants." But I was watching you at the game and your clap-clap-clap-clap-clap timing could use a little work.

My thoughts are that with the circumstances that we face - 1500 new people and such a wide, hard to coordinate section, that our key to early success will be to simplify. Ive been a season ticket holder in the Cauldron for 4 years and there are some of the longer chants that I have a hard time remembering all the words to still. Catchy = Simple.

Seconded. I don't mind one or two spontaneous songs being thrown around but I don't go to watch parties to practice anything I go to watch the game.

I also strongly believe that if a song needs a lot of practice then its not going to catch on anyway, not with the masses. They either need to be popular enough that people know the words to begin with or simple enough that they can pick them up without much work on game day.

Now if we could get a group of 10-15 guys together so nobody has to be shy and simply record them like we did for the iPhone app, then stick the MP3s and the Lyrics on a website it could help people (that are interested in singing) catch onto new songs.

    Viva Graham Zusi,
    Viva Graham Zusi,
    He went to Pizza Hut,
    Made Hartman give two up,
    Viva Graham Zusi!

Maybe needs work - but its simple....... we need simple. We also desperately need player chants.

    Thoughts?

Sounds like a great idea. One could even re-dub the 15 and alter the timing, pitch and make it sound like even more people were there. Not too hard to do. So really you could even do it with 5 or 6 people.

I like it. Any thought to the cadence/rhythm?

Anything with SKC could easily fit with Graham Zusi too.

I'm thinking to the tune of the "Viva Ronaldo" chant used (occasionally even still) by Man Utd. supporters. EDIT: see, e.g., [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_11KVAeWAg"]YouTube - ‪VIVA RONALDO - United in Rome‬‏[/ame] I'm not musically inclined so I'm not entirely sure the syllables all fit correctly and the like.....but I think it's close - a starting point at the very least.

    Hey all,

I made a list of all current songs from the old Cauldron chant sheet archived on the web. It is in Google Docs and open to edit to anyone who has the link (even without Google doc access)

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/...jb9n1M3q5EVLZc/edit?hl=en_US&authkey=CJ7957sB

I also am starting to collect all songs suggested in this forum to organize it a little bit more:
    https://docs.google.com/document/d/...cogFuVyH5njckrU/edit?hl=en_US&authkey=CP6uiU8

Feel free to keep adding here and i will try to keep these updated. Anyone is more than welcome to help fill out , comment, correct any of the lyrics currently up there.

    Hope this helps.

I know we've had a couple suggestions of a Ryan Smith chant and was pleased to see it on the lyrics sheet for the opener.

I was thinking that a simpler one might be to adapt the other common Giggs chant, to the tune of "Love will tear us apart":

"Smith...Smith will tear you apart (again)." repeat ad nauseam. Simple, and I think it is fairly catchy.

Also no lines that need to be altered creatively other than a simple name swap. see, e.g., [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbyxbku5M2I"]YouTube - ‪Giggs Will Tear You Apart - Chant‬‏[/ame]

Do we have the chant to the tune of Yankee Doodle that we were doing last year down on paper somewhere? That was originally a US national team chant, right?

I usually hate stealing chants and this might have already been suggested but the AO I Believe That We Will Win chant is excellent, nice little call and response.

Interesting how perspectives and opinions vary. I really honestly disliked it. That said, I participated, and I'd participate if we picked it up for SKC games, but I don't care for it.

Been stuck in my head all day.

I must say the MS worked a whole lot better with the noise makers behind the goal ... at least that was how it sounded to me ... from behind the goal.

One of these games coming up, I want to get up and wander around the stadium just a little bit, to see what the MS sounds like from midfield or the south end.

I know we sound loud to ourselves, but I really do wonder what we sound like from halfway or all the way across the stadium.

From 102 Row 6, behind the goal did work better in hearing the MS. But I bet they may be heard best directly across the stadium even with the distance. We should ask Kronberg or Nielsen how loud it is when they are directly in front of MS.

RE: drumming: I could really hear La Barra drumming from M2 or M3 directly across from 102 - that was very loud. Could spot for cadence to the MS? Would need coordination.

I do have to say that the chants got quite repetitive, at least the ones that were the loudest. There were some that I could barely hear at all. Variety will be important in the long run. Is there any plan to work on a new song for Friday? Time is running out.

Anyone work up an official Cauldron chant sheet? Will distribute to 102 if I get a copy.

BTW I am trying to get enough people in 102 to pull off Horto Magiko with revised non-Greek lyrics revised from ojsgillt https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=22243196&highlight=horto#post22243196

We'll see how it goes. Let me know if you hear us.

I'm usually against using college chants but holy crap, those are great. Intense work to be done there.

Non-Greek? Sigh. I have to admit that is one that I'd much prefer to put in the effort to learn the Greek. That said, I'm sure I'm a massive exception to the rule; my B.A. is Latin, and I read Italian fluently, so Greek would be a fun change... :D

I agree completely about the repetitiveness and the need for variety. I know a lot of it is that we have better participation with the simple chants, or the ones that people like. I'd personally rather not hear the same chant more than once or twice a game, to be honest, but I think a lot of it comes down to participation, and people knowing the words. I dream of a day where we have a 30 to 40 chant repertoire, with very very few of the mono-syllabic/nonsense word chants. I'll participate, but they drive me crazy.

As to Friday night, I certainly haven't heard anything, but being in Wichita, I'm hardly integral to any process for anything. :) I wouldn't mind someone giving my proposed Zusi chant a run out though, if it isn't thought to suck too badly.

That does beg the question however, anyone have any thoughts on my proposed chant a couple posts back? I'm wondering if 'Graham Zusi' would work better as "Zusi" but held longer, as is done with "Ronaldoooooooooooo" in the Man Utd. version?

Regardless, I do think Zusi's two goals in Dallas deserve some recognition.

Noise makers right in the middle helped a lot. Also I think where La Bara was, was key too. Being on the side line they projected across the rest of the section. I was one section left of where the main leaders were and could easily pick up every single La Bara chant. It seemed like the times where the MS got rocking as a whole all started by La Bara picking up on what the lead section was doing as they could look across at them, and then the rest of the sections could pick up from La Bara. If we can get those two sections even more in sync we will be rocking. Just need a little more communication between the two. A lot of time La Bara would try to start a chant when the Middle Section was quite, only for the Middle Section to start up a chant right when La Bara's started picking up steam, causing us to be divided.

I like where are heading just a little more practice and so that everyone is on the same page and it will be awesome.

I think La Barra did a fantastic job, I would personally like to see them in the middle of the Members Stand leading the way.

That "I believe we will" chant win sounded tight with the drums on Tuesday. I think that would work great in our section.

"Winning team losing team" is a tough one unless we're up by two with about a minute left in stoppage. I would hate to start that chant and then have the opponent tie it up in the 93rd minute.

The pointing would be tough to pull off behind the goal and that was half of what made that cool --

Ok, my OCD must have kicked in last night but I was dreaming about in the cauldron...weird, I know....and recalled a "I just cant get enough" chant. Either I heard it on the radio and turned it into a chant in sleepy-land, or it is one that we used to do. Anyone recall this chant? It was bad-ass in my dream! lol

There is a "Just can't get enough" chant. I know I've seen video of it on youtube - it was a Scottish club's fans, as I recall.

I really, really like it, for some reason.
