How about you go die in a fire? Preferably while being baked alive under the crushing weight of your fat wife.

Really, I would not surprised if he is getting some looks from the scouts in Europe. He would be just fine in Dutch League, France, second division in Spain.

I think he would grow as a player in such an environment. He would also pick up a huge paycheck, compared to the peanuts he is paid with the Fire.

He received a huge increase this year, to $120,000.00

I went to Wikipedia, and just as I suspected with his last name and with people saying he qualifies for a Euro passport . . . . . He is included on a page of "Guatemalan people of Italian decent." The Italians hand out passports with less hassle than the Irish. ;):D

I think you just need to buy the chicken vesuvio combo platter with a side of pasta and a Peroni together with proof that your name ends in a vowel and you are in.

You might want to ask one of our former draft picks, Dominic Cervi, that Italian thing is.

Cervi grew up in Norman, Oklahoma. Cervi's great-grandparents were Italian. He received his Italian passport in May 2009. . .

    :D

I know exactly where he grew up. I watched him play for a long time.

I also know it took almost 14 months for him to get that passport after rejecting MLS' offer.

14 months doesn't seem like that long a time to get citizenship and a passport for a kid who wasn't born in that country, whose parents weren't born in that country and whose grandparents weren't born in that country. Frankly, its a joke that they can do it at all. The process has probably slowed a bit because of soccer and the abuses of people claiming citizenship through the ingestion of Chef Boy Ardee products.

IIRC, the process is much faster if you are seeking employment with a Serie A side and you're Argentinian.

However, 14 months is a long time if you're planning on a summer transfer to Spain or England. The Dutch don't care, they'll just have to pay him the non-EU minimum of right around a half mil per season.
