Of course not, that would be a stupid way to decide a game. ;)
And then he said "It really hurts. I think I'll need a massage when we get home."

Single coverage with Chris Bosh! SMH.

    Wow!!

You don't have to be a great tactical mind to know what was coming. Dirk took Bosh to school, made out with his girl AND took his lunch money too.

Spo wet the bed on that play.

Too much is being made of the Wade celebration 3 pointer but still, that was a dumb thing to do in game 2. If Mavs win Game 3 they are huge favorites. If Miami take game 3 then they are huge favorites. What i am sayin is, game 3 is kinda important. :D

Man - I want Dallas to win but if I were a Heat fan I'd be pissed out how lopsided this is being called.

It's just not the NBA Finals without the refs calling the games in favor of one team. How many loose ball fouls have there been?

Nearly choked/robbed by refs. I can breath easy for one night and watch ESPN for the first time since Wednesday.

Well it was a fun playoffs, but this one is over. Dirk is human apparently and the Heat are just too athletic. And with all this crap I've been reading about how "it's Lebron's team" and "Lebron is so clutch now" - it's Wade who has Rudy's "heart of a champion".

Only the people looking for some negative are bringing this up.

Who was the best player in game 1? Who got Miami past the Celtics and the Bulls?

How soon do we forget. Lebron knew that there were going to be games were Wade was going to take over, he has the hot hand. Oh and Lebron 4 assists in the 4th quarter. Two huge ones to Bosh. None of us in Miami gives a rats ass who scores the most. A ring will be a ring if Miami wins it.

Wade is a leader. James and Bosh are followers. A ring is a ring.

In my opinion, the Jordan vs LeBron debate is settled and over. Wade is the Jordan to LeBron's Pippen.

Yes because Pippen would have burned the Celtics and the Bulls the way Lebron did. Of course.

Jordan went 5/19 against the Sonics but you remember his legendary stuff. It was a close out game. (Game 4 in the 96 finals), but no one can ever have a bad game if you want to be legendary.

Oh and Lebron playing shut down defense through out the playoffs. Yet he is not a leader. They are both leaders. They came together for exactly this, so that they could each be a threat and a weapon.

So you just don't want to discuss? I'll take that as an admission of being wrong.

Hey bro. A comparison to Pippen is nothing to sneeze at. The man's a hall of fame player after all. I think that you can't seem to remove your team beer goggles and see things for how they're being perceived everywhere except Miami. Therefore there's nothing to discuss. We have differing opinions. The world would suck if we all agreed on everything, something that some message board posters can't seem to comprehend. Enjoy the finals. :)

Sorry to interrupt the infighting, but I wanted to briefly revisit the issue of Shaq's legacy. The Bulls long-time beat writer, Sam Smith, has an article up on nba.com discussing this and I think he gets it just right...

Hey bro, Lebron is better than Pippen. I think that you can't seem to remove your national media goggles and see things for how they are being perceived by people who don't have an irrational hate for all things Lebron. Therefore there is plenty to discuss, but you seem afraid. We have differing opinions. I would like to agree with you but then we would both be wrong. I will enjoy, thanks. :)

I think that if there is a rap on Pippen that can be transferred to LBJ is that he was not able to win a Championship on his own account..

But not even MJ could do it alone.. Only when the right "supporting cast" was assembled did he achieve two three-peats..

I used to think of this Miami Heat as Wade's team but in this playoffs it has been almost equally LBJ's and Wade's... Wade had a terrible series against Chicago (although he provided the spark on the las quarter of the series).. LBJ has done everything that has been asked of him (passing, defending, rebounding), even if sometimes he seems to happy popping bombs from downtown..

You seem to have mistaken me for someone who, like yourself, seems to have a personal stake in how LeBron is portrayed. I don't. I'm a Grizzlies fan. My team just came off our best season in history. I'm just calling it like I see it. You can call me wrong if you like. I'm fine with that. Your negative opinion of me isn't going to ruin my life. :)

The only personal connection I have with Lebron is that he plays for my favorite Basketball team. We are here in a forum, where the main purpose is to discuss, is it not? So I will argue for the player in my team, is that so far fetched and unheard of? But then instead of discussing you bring up an old overused quote from one of the most popular works in English literature, get ready to be called out for not discussing the point but dodging it.

Congratulations on your Memphis Grizzlies, they have been one of my favorite teams this year. :)

    Two quick thoughts:

    - What really drives the "Wade is the closer and leader of this team", at least currently, was his post-game interview. He sure sounded like its his team and he should be getting the ball at the end. "I've been here before," etc.
    - I think Shaq (unlike MJ) is just being humble in his retirement. Maybe he really does fault himself for being too injury prone (and being that big obviously impeded his recovery time) but imo he's such a huge guy and to be as nimble as he was when he was at the top of his game, it's unprecedented.
That list is nuts. The only guy above him who could really have troubled him was Hakeem.

You need to stop assuming that we're all looking for negative things - and if you don't give a rats ass, then why are you arguing about it?

I think Lebron is better than Pippen - but I agree with HHM that as far as roles go, Wade is more comfortable being Batman than LBJ is, just like Pippen benefited enormously as Robin, but wasn't really a Batman player.

Some guys have ice water in their veins and balls of steel - like Jordan, but you don't have to be as good as Jordan - and some guys seem to get a little rattled, like Nick Anderson or John Starks.

I think part of the problem is that while LBJ is a good shooter, his jump shot is a little more erratic and he doesn't have the same confidence in it that guys like Jordan and Wade or Dirk do.

Wade also was the guy along with Haslem doing a lot of the talking after game 2 meltdown.

Lebron is a great player - but if you had a choice between Wade and Lebron to replace Jordan on those Bulls teams (to play alongside Pippen), I think Wade might be a better choice because of his clutchness and ability to wreck a team almost singlehandedly the way he did against the Mavs in game 3. Although that's setting aside his injury history.

Gotta give Lebron a lot of credit though - he's really doing anything and everything his team needs to win.
