Do they still play this in the stadium after a loss? I know they used to but not sure how long ago that was. Any plans to try some of these out prior to June 9th? Maybe the Open Cup game or some non-game drunken fest?
A rewrite of something I posted back on page 8 or somewhere: (Fade in) Glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, Sporting KC. With ‘96’s first crawl we burst on the scene to gain glory for KC. We are Sporting KC. We are Sporting KC - A part of Lamar’s great vision. We are Sporting KC. We are Sporting KC. We all bled with Mo when we tasted double-glory on the back of Danish Dynamite. We are Sporting KC. We are Sporting KC. We will fight for the blue and the grey. We are Sporting KC. We are Sporting KC. We took Open Cup ’04. We curse Handball United, And we will never be divided. We are you. We are me. We are relentless. We will fight to gain glory for KC. Glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, Sporting KC. Glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, Sporting KC (to fade).
This tune might work well for a Cauldron song, especially the drum beat. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Mut_jxG1Uhc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Don't know how to embed a Youtube video. It's the Whitestripes 7 Nation Army.
To embed, just link the video's normal link, no imbed tags or anything. Just use the tags and it will do the rest.
OK. Another suggestion that has probably been already offered (and includes a lousy drummer) "It's the end of the world as we know it" by REM Could be "It's the end of your world as you know it" x 3 then "And I feel fine" Said maybe after SKC has gone up in a match or is cutting into a lead. Or the song could be expanded to include the rapid-fire portion of the REM song.
Better wait till the final 10 seconds of the game for that one. haha (couldn't resist). Like it, otherwise though.
kind of random because i'm a nerd and i've been thinking about 2001: A Space Odyssey a lot lately, but... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daisy_Bell maybe the folks at google would be fond of this one?
Ive always thought this could be a good chant for the city. I heard this one from the Glens fans the other week and thought it sounded pretty good when alot of people where belting it out. Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole Ola Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole Ola We-eeee, are Glentoran FC The Glentoran Army The Glentoran Army Repeat Obviously it could be changed and still work. Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole Ola Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole Ola We-eeee, are Kansas City The Kansas Army The Kansas Army (or Sporting??) Repeat http://fanchants.com/football-songs/glentoran-chants/ole-ole-ole-ole-ole-ole-ola-poor-quality/ Not great quality but you get the gist from this anyways i'm not really a supporter of Kansas but I do like to watch them.
Yes. I purchased from iTunes the Vera Lynn version from "Historic Voices IV - The War Years" after seeing it on this thread. When would we sing this? Doesn't seem appropriate before the game. The 85 min mark? After the final whistle?
What I heard of the song it does seem to be something that could be sung at the end of the game. I liked it.
Alright guys. Back to the subject of a Song that we can sing as maybe an anthem. I Liked the idea of Somewhere over the rainbow. That song definitely has meaning to the Midwest. and If you really think about it. We've been waiting how long for our stadium? and back then it seemed like it was over the rainbow. so yeah. that definitely was not a bad idea at all. I was thinking. a pretty easy one to sing and is catchy enough for anyone to get into would be Kansas City Here I come. "I'm going to Kansas City. Kansas City, here I come. I'm going to Kansas City. Kansas City, here I come. They've got crazy little women there And I'm going to get me one. I'm going to be standing on the corner--Twelfth Street and Vine. I'm going to be standing on the corner--Twelfth Street and Vine. With my Kansas City baby and a bottle of Kansas City wine. Well, I might take a train, I might take a plane, But if I have to walk I'm going just the same-- Going to Kansas City. Kansas City, here I come. They've got crazy little women there And I'm going to get me one." Its really simple to sing and Im sure somebody on here has heard it before. Im more than ready for this to be shit on by some curmudgeon. but all the same. its a great song and its about Kansas City.
With a twist: I'm going to Kansas City. Kansas City, here I come. I'm going to Kansas City. Kansas City, here I come. They've got an awesome soccer team there And I'm going to cheer them on. I'm going to be standing in the corner--of the North and East stands. I'm going to be standing in the corner--of the North and East stands. With my Sporting Kansas City and eighteen thousand other Sporting fans. Well, I might take a train, I might take a plane, But if I have to walk I'm going just the same-- Going to Kansas City. Kansas City, here I come. They've got an awesome soccer team there And I'm going to cheer them on.
I was trying to avoid changing the lyrics as that would just make it like any other song we sing. as an anthem sort of like Liverpools YNWA
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JVhbusBDi4"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JVhbusBDi4[/ame] I know everyone already does this song, but not the extended version. Could be an option. Change him to them.
I fully intend to do the Brittany Spears song..... "Oh, oh, oh, oh, oooooo. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, ooooooo".
