He better give it more time.

When the Gold Cup starts, I can see him taking Cameron's role of AM while Cameron drops back to partner Boswell at CB.

He's gonna be playing a lot here over the next few months.

Well the encouraging thing is it sounded like Canetti was in talking to him last night, maybe that helped.

And he must know that he'd get a lot more playing time. I suspect that he just doesn't want to deal with the physicality of this league or the work rate that's expected of him.

If he does not want to be here then don't let the door hit him in the butt on the way out. The Dynamo need players who are willing to work as a team.

If he feels he can't cut it then he probably can't. If true, then good on him being honest and not wasting any more time for all involved.

I still get the impression that he has what it takes to be successful here but the mind must be willing.

I also feel these rumors are hard to beleive and I think it is merely gossip.

Minute man Hydro? Yeah I heard of that.

Other news, if he wants to leave I'm slightly dissapointed.
It just Proves nobody likes to come to Houston for any sport: soccer, football, basketball, anything.

Think I'll head to practice on Tuesday - should be interesting to see who is there.

It would be nice if both parties could give a little ground. Dom actually give the guy a start and Koke realizing it might take some time.

Why dont we just tell the guy that May is the hottest month of the year here? ;)

On a serious note, has his family been properly moved down? That can make all the difference.

His FB profile photo is of his child, IIUC.

If he's missing his child that much, txsn's point is MORE than valid.

    Re: Koke leaving Dynamo

Well, I thought that was one of the reasons he wanted to leave Greece, because he wanted a better place to bring up his daughter. I was surprised they didn't come with him, which maybe says something itself? But I think txsn is right, I wish they would try to work with him. Didn't he start in LA?

The Dynamo should bring his family over for the club's next home game.

Didn't the team do something like that before?

Koke should call for a players only meeting to get things straightened out before the next home game.

    Re: Koke leaving Dynamo

He should stop whining, there are thousands of stories of people leaving everything behind, friends, family, country, endure difficult times, sacrifice a lot for a better life, for a chance at happiness, that is not the case of most professional athletes.

I miss my family, I want to start, it is very hot and humid, I was captain in Greece, I just want to be loved.

He misses his family?, He should bring them back ASAP, if he can't do that because of school, or his wife needs sell their house, or finish their affairs in Greece, well, grow up man, many people go trough that when they change jobs and change cities.

He was a starter, a captain in Greece?, He should start showing how great of a player he is and win a place in our team, in the time he has played, we have seen 2 or 3 plays that hint of his capabilities, nothing more.

Hot and humid?, He should start working real hard on hos fitness level.

If he can't survive moving to the States, if after a few weeks he is overwhelmed and sad and crying himself to bed, then he will be useless as a player at any club that is planning on doing big things.

And I want to point out that:

    a) This is a soccer forum, the perfect place for rumors, outrage, lies, unfounded statements and misinformed opinions.

    b) I would never say this to him or anyone else, which si why forums used to be very popular, everyone here is bold, brave, in here no one is afraid of anything or anyone, face to face, well, that is a different thing.

    c) Did I mention this is a forum?, If he doesn't go and turns out to be a great player I would perhaps, perhaps, even buy a Spanish flag to take to the games.

I don't know how Koke can stay in Houston... I've seen quite a few comments here and from facebook friends who are in SGs... there are fans REALLY mad at him, ready to boo him, making some really strong (understandable) comments, etc.

Koke lost enough Houston fans anyway, so why try to fix this situation? Once he let his feelings out publicly I think there's no turning back.

well the only thing that bothers me is why are all the stuff (i mean posts) on his FB are in greek... that has to be an Aris fan running that FB. I don't see how that can really be his FB.

Unless i'm looking at another Sergio Koke page.

I think it's just an Aris/Greek/Koke fan trying to spark things up.

anything that officially connects him to that FB page?

There are different Koke pages. He does have a personal page.

Levy2k6 does bring up an interesting point.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCkQIZkWIcg&feature=related"]YouTube - ‪?? ????? ???? ??????? Sergio Contreras Pardo KOKE‬‏[/ame]

His exit from Aris was in spanish and he had a translator. I know he wasnt completely fluent in Greek, but knew enough greek-soccer talk to be able to communicate. Doesn't explain why all his posts in multiple Koke accounts i've seen are in greek when his natural language is spanish

If he said the things in spanish, I'd be sold imho but hey, it's a rumor!

And i don't know the link to his personal fb to see it..

Maybe the Dynamo should play him more and even let him start a game at home.

Anyone can start a facebook page or twitter account (I just started following "fake Bob Bradley").

If indeed the rumour (note spelling) is true, then it will be confirmed pretty soon.

If not - then don't believe everything you read or hear - as a wise man once said "trust, but verify"

    Re: Koke leaving Dynamo

I know on his personal page he is friends with Geoff Cameron (that one I know is real since it was linked on his twitter, which was verified with the official Dynamo twitter). Also, his profile pic is his daughter, which, I don't think an impersonator would think have that one unless they are really good (or creepy).

I don't know what exactly he's said because I'm not friends with him, nor am I sure this is actually the page that this info has come from, though.

IF it is true that he wants to leave, then I hope he clears his head and changes his mind, as I still think he would be a good fit with this team. At least, I hope he sticks around for this season.

I don't think it's right for fans to be so mad at him that they'd boo him. Missing your family (or your daughter, if that's true) isn't something that a person can just get over, you know? Posting that to his FB account, if he did, wasn't a good decision but hardly worth booing. If he came back, then his worst crime would be simply wanting to leave in a moment of weakness, and honestly, I think booing or hating him for that is a bit cruel. He's a human being, he has emotions. Maybe time away with his family is what he needs at the moment in order to sort out what he wants.
