Has it been said if we will be hosting USOC games at LIVESTRONG? I would imagine that it would cost more to open the stadium than the revenue these games bring in.
Well maybe if we promoted them like Seattle and other teams have done people might show up. I asked why we didn't pimp the game yesterday and got some waffle about Season Ticket Pickups and a Stadium opening and it being busy .... The ONLY way to make money in the USOC is making sure people buy tickets to the games you do play in. Its not like the $100,000 prize for winning will do the job.
Yeah, and yesterday they were still advertising on twitter that tickets were available. For a 1500 seat venue!
Unfortunately life has happened yet again and I will not be able to attend the match this evening. If anyone is interested in a free ticket send me a PM. You will have to come pick it up from me but I'm possibly on your way (Leawood).
I know it's a silly question, but with all the rain we've had in the last 4 days, is that turf at BVDAC gonna be able to handle the game? I mean, I start drinking here in about an hour, is there a chance that the game doesn't happen? (assuming a tornado doesn't drop on the stadium, of course, since one apparently touched down a mile down the road at 135th and Metcalf...)
There was a quote in Facebook, that Podcasters where 2011's version of Garth and Wayne's Public Access TV channel .... everytime I see it now I simply cringe
Looking at the radar, there's a good chance this is going to be one of those epic-lightning-delay USOC games, like the one against Chicago a few years back. Let's hope the music is better this time.
I remember that game. The "ingame" thread for that rain delay was epic. LOL. But yeah futurecast seems to show another round moving through right around game time.
sporting kc lineup: kronberg harrington, besler, collin, sinovic rocastle, sassano, zusi, bravo, myers sapong
SportingKC: Just a heads up, we are having technical difficulties with our live stream. We are working to get it up and running. Will keep you updated. [via Twitter]
Reading the in-game live chat with Davy & Teal from the press box while watching video streaming (slight delay) from my Chicago hotel is a great way to spend my Wednesday night.
that was a fun, wet victory... finally... something animated to cheer about (stadiums are inanimate objects)... this is the kind of motivation that can lead to a new part of the season...
Hopefully Robb will do whatever it takes to get some more home games in this tournament, especially since they would be played at LSP. Great to see that we still have some offense AND defense. Hope this carries over into the game this weekend.
I'm not sure what to even make of that game. We can't buy a goal in the last couple of games, then they load in 5...
NE played a bunch of scrubeenies, and it showed. We left at least 3 more goals on the field. (I have no idea how Smith didn't score on that 1v1.) I liked what I saw out of Sassano and Sinovic, but once again, NE didn't really put a competitive squad on the field. Bravo was just toying with them at times, and so was Smith. Other questions/observations: 1. Is this the real Chance Myers? Or is he Ryan Pore 2.0? 2. Driving 2 miles on surface streets to watch a professional sporting event is pretty damn cool. 3. I really need to buy some Gore-Tex rain pants to go with my Gore-Tex jacket. 4. It's pretty funny to hear Collin yelling at people with a French accent.
That rain sucked. But hey, a win is a win. As I said at the beginning of the thread. Let's win this damn thing.
Pruney toes due to my incompetence in walking to the stadium and completely drenched but was it ever worth it. I love winning, I love winning big. Still some issues out there, but I really don't care. I love winning. WINNING.
