i like the idea but im bringing about a dozen people, wont be able to get them to wear red or a scarf. have a feeling there will be others in the same boat.
Two weeks out? People have been wearing red in the supporters section since it started in 1994 it's not like this is a recent development.
aside from me, i think only one of these people have ever been to a US soccer match before so they arent aware of whats been going on in the supporters sections. i will mention to them that they should wear red, but i think it will be tough to get everyone in the sections, including the newbies, to wear red.
Do they know that they are sitting in the supporter's section? Can you show them youtube videos to let them know what sitting in this section means? A red t-shirt is likely already to be owned by these people. It doesn't take much. I assume since their seats are in the supporters section they are looking forward to being a part of a standing, singing crowd. Tell them that wearing the proper colors is also a part of this. That is how it is in any supporters section across the globe.
ive spent $600 on tickets for everyone so far, not too interested in going and spending more money on clothes for them
i think they are just looking forward to getting drunk and watching a match. im hoping that the atmosphere can convert them into supporters. like i said, i like the idea, i just know that in my group it wont happen and i think there might be other groups like that.
so you're not even going to try? Your fellow supporters who actually care about the atmosphere in the stadium and want full participation in the supporter's section probably expect at least a little effort from those attending as far as participation is concerned.
If you're spending over $600 on tickets for your entire traveling party they should have no problem springing for a $5 red t-shirt
of course ill ask any i will try to get them to do it...i just know that there might be some difficulty in my group and possibly other groups as well
Tommy...no need to sell your tickets. i have a group of new supporters going too, although not as big as the 12 you have. show them a video like this one: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RC6Mp6WsHY"]YouTube - USA Chant prior to USA versus Mexico - February 11, 2009‏[/ame] so they can get an idea of what the supporters section is like and suggest that they will enjoy themselves more as part of the supporters section
Does anyone have the photo of the supporter's section for the Gold Cup final at the MeadowLands vs Mexico? A section of all red in a sea of green. The game sucked, but the section was amazing.
I don't think there was anyone on the otherside of the stadium to take a picture of us. Honduras in Chicago was like that too.
