First post in over a year and what can I say I told you folks so. This team is crap and the coach is no better. Most of the so called talent he has brought in has been lack luster but when you play a f-ed up formation with the wrong type of players you are asking for trouble. Once again, "Just because you played at a high level doesn't mean you can coach at a high level." Hey Robb take all of the service fee's you are charging folks and hire a better coach.

I'm going to just stop watching until the home games roll around. If we improve once that happens I might actually pay to come to a game. If not, I'm going to tune out until we get a new regime in place. I hate to be a bandwagon fan but at the same time I ask myself why I should reward mediocrity.

Talent isn't the problem. We may not have amazing talent, but that's not why we look like crap.

Only a slight disagreement. I think we do have a bunch of talent. It's just that the talent would be showcased much more in a traditional 4-4-2 formation. It may not be the sexy football form that we want to see, but we are not Barca or Arsenal. It comes down to the manager recognizing the team's strength. Our strength is not in a 4-3-3 which stresses midfield possession. We would be better served to slow everything down with a defensive minded 4-4-2 especially on the hdc sized pitch. LSP will also have the large pitch and with our midfield the way it is, continuing the 4-3-3 means inevitable lopsided losses like last nite. That PV apparently doesn't see this is reason enough to get out the seat warmer.

We may not like PV, but Robb does and has said as much. We are stuck with him this season.

Well then Rob's attitude will be the down fall of this team. We may sell out the first game but all the empty seats for the rest of the season, in a brand new stadium, will make it real clear what needs to happen.

The biggest problem IMO is that he will still be the TD and that is not a good thing. Time to cut ties and start clean.

I am tired fr hearing all the excuses of why we are bad. The writing was on the wall last year and even though we have signed new players(some good, most bad) the style of play/tactics have been this teams downfall.

Which will unfortunately mean 2 more years or so of what we're seeing now as the new coach/TD brings in "his guys".

The worst thing is that we have a player that was once a defender of the year in this league and Vermes sucks at scouting defenders.

My worry is that if Vermes does get fired we'll be stuck with Zambrano or Savic in charge for the rest of the season and both those guys as coach scare the crap out of me more than Vermes does.

we drove up from san diego last night to support my SKC...after cheering the first goal, we were heckled for the rest of the game by a CHILDREN'S SOCCER TEAM sitting in front of us...even children can recognise how bad KC sucks...it is really sad when i am thanking god to myself that i didn't wear my KC jacket....terrible!

Welcome to life cheering this team on the road, I've lost track of the number of times I've been heckled by a youth team at away games.

when PV gets fired (not if) he will not be the TD it was his idea to stick his neck out when he let Onalfo go by choosing himself as the replacement. He combined the two positions, he can't fire himself from one and then keep himself as the other. When he is done, he is done.

Unfortunately, we don't have a week off for a while, which would be a good time to make a change. I imagine we'll ride it out for the rest of the year unless we pull a Derby County from a few years ago (which we're on pace for right now).

Vermes should have been fired two or three years ago. The team is a joke, talent wise, tactics, player development, management, etc., and nothing has changed. Remember, he has been in charge of putting the team together for at least 5 years. Look at how we manage the salary cap. We have a capable gk on the bench, but we use a huge amount on a foreign keeper. I know he is playing well but when you have a limited amount of money that you can spend, we could have used that money for a good field player to fill another hole.

Player Development - the young guys we have acquired are not getting any better and are probably getting worse. Myers, Harrington, Besler to name 3. Harrington looked like a future national team player, now he looks lucky to even be in the first team. When players leave our team, like Jacky, they play much better then they did with us. The Seattle v. Portland game had a lot of former Wizards on the field.

Tactics- anyone who has ever played can see that we got it wrong, usually in less then 10 minutes of watching the game. The substitutions make little or no sense most of the time. As has been mentioned previously, teams that play a 4-3-3 are usually teams with unreal talent (Arsenal, Barca). With the talent we have, we should be playing like Stoke (since we can't complete a pass, or maybe West Brom). Can someone tell me why Davy plays? Should have been traded a long time ago.

The FO is good at marketing and twitter. It's too bad they don't give out the MLS CUP to the best team on twitter.

If they wait a year, the stadium will be half empty by the end of the season.

When the team is playing poorly, something should be done to shake things up. The options are (1) change the routine, (2) change the players, (3) change the coach. Vermes has not appeared willling to change the routine (or the approach). Changing players won't help with this group--the talent drops off too quickly. That leaves 3 to try to salvage the season somewhat.

It appears the present solution is to change the venue.

Vermes has his detiny set. Why prolong the agony?

If Vermes is fired, he will be completely fired. They arent going to keep him around as TD. The only job he might be offered is heading up the youth squads since that is his background. But, I think he would be looked at by other teams for the TD or manager job.

I think we have enough talent to be a playoff team. Obviously, we need some upgrades up to say our talent is crap is being a little dramatic. But, talent cannot overcome what is just an overall bad strategy from top to bottom.

I am right there with you guys, he needs to go. I dont think we will ever be more than a mediocre team fighting for the last playoff spot with PV at the helm.

Never said the talent was crap, the team is crap. So I am not being "a little dramatic!" They are not playing like a team and with the changes that need to happen includes better players. Especially in the midfield.

I'm sure they are. You don't get to where Illig and Patterson are in life by tolerating poor performance. But they don't really know soccer, and they've hitched their wagon to the wrong horses in Onalfo and Vermes. The question is, do they recognize it, and do they know how to find someone better?

This is why I wouldn't fire him at this point. Who takes his place? I don't want to be like Toronto and have a new coach/system every 1-2 years. Unless there is a better coach available, its a rash move.

And honestly I'm more worried about Zambrano or Savic possibly being handed the job with the interim tag.

    nope... just bullriders/nfl players/the circus

.. I actually think they are, just arent soccer guys and Vermes has managed to fool them into thinking he is anything but a formerly good player

.. Vermes has been fronting, he looks and plays the part well though, credit him for that

For what reason? That they would be hired then full time? You know that there isnt much stock to defend Vermes with, jump in, you know you want too. Say Vermes is fired, and we have no one running the ship... What is lost? We cant go after players that you cant legally sign? We play with no guidence or purpose? Players play in spots that dont make sense and in game moves make no sense? We are already there, the majority of the worlds leagues are getting done soon, this would be a good time to start looking for someone to take over things soccer related. It is only a matter of time, that is pretty clear, why not do it now and give a new mind a season to look at what he has then when a new season starts the slate is clean and he can have things the way he wants.

Because neither one is very good, I still remember a quote I read from Mike Ammann after we signed Zambrano that said something like "KC just signed Zambrano, wow I thought KC was smarter than that." And there have been some interesting signings by LA and NY when he was there.

And Savic hasn't shown anything really as a coach in the outdoor game.
