Spirit From Boston to Detroit should run in $260 range.

Spirit will get you there, but the seats at Ford Field will look very large and comfortable in comparison to what you will get on that airline.

I wish I would be able to make this one. If you are looking to rent a car, do not forget to look at flying into Flint, Mi (FNT) often the flights are cheaper going into there.

I'll be there with one friend. I'm definitely looking to do the AO Meetup the night before (assuming there is one?)

Not sure how we're getting there but that train sounds mighty tempting, also considering driving

    1. Does anybody know what section AO is?
    2. Does anybody know if AO will be General Admission for this game? Some stadiums AO is General Admission, but some stadiums check your ticket and make sure you're in the right place. Just wondering if anybody knew the details.
    3. Wheres the best place to pre-game? I heard theres some soccer pubs but they're not that close to the stadium, and then theres bars close to the stadium, and then theres always the parking lots...

AO section is 138. Its not General Admission. I haven't heard of AO pre-game yet, but I know AO Detroit is involved in planning. I'd expect a AO tailgate

Michigan is known for its breweries. Bells Brewery is considered one of the top 3 breweries in the USA. Founders, Celis and Shorts make great beers as well. Here are some places that are close to Ford Field, but I'm leaving a helluva lot of places out.

Downtown Detroit, specifically Corktown, Greektown, New Center, and Cass Corridor is bad ass.

Such an incredible city. Obviously lots of historical blight with sweet pockets of "holy f***** sh** that was a badass time!!!" You just gotta know where to go.

I'm gonna try and go (currently live in Austin), but my brother and friends will definitely be there. Probably at the Old Shillelagh.

Super easy/quick. Windsor Tunnel, right by Hart Plaza/RenCen/etc. Passport is all you really need. The US dollar is pretty weak right now versus the Canadian, but Windsor is still a blast, amazing Italian eateries in Windsor as well.

    http://www.dwtunnel.com/

I imagine the tunnel is gonna be a madhouse for the game, going into the US, but it's still a better option than the Ambassador Bridge.

Tunnel for commuters/tourist and Bridge for truckers.

Got tix this morning behind US bench. Driving in from Pittsburgh with my 5 year old.

1st time in Detroit, anytime my son and I travel for a game all he wants to do is play soccer. Any soccer complexes/parks in the area?

MGM Grand in Detroit isn't bad. If you can get a tour of Comerica Park. It's a beautiful park.

Just got my tickets yesterday, this will be my first US Mens team game in person. I have one question for any of the Detroit natives. What is the area like around Ford Field? Right now I am planning on staying at a hotel in the area and was wondering if walking around that area is ok later at night. Thanks.

I'm not a Detroit native, but Ford Field is right downtown in the center of the city. Probably one of the nicer parts of town.

Too bad the Tigers are not in town until June 9. It would've been cool if the Red Wings were playing in the Stanley Cup Finals which are occurring around that time, but that's looking unlikely now. Those staying near Comerica might opt for the Book-Cadillac Hotel (http://www.bookcadillacwestin.com/), which is pretty sweet and has an excellent restaurant called "Roast" (owned by Iron Chef Michael Symon) attached to it.

I don't think I'm going to be able to go, unfortunately. It would have been my first nats game in person. I'm selling my tickets here: https://www.stubhub.com/concacaf-go...old-cup-6-7-2011-1059490/?ticket_id=293656085

    section 138, row 2, seats 9-10

If someone from BS is interested just PM me and I'll sell them for less than I have them listed for there. I'm not trying to make money, just get back what I paid for them. I paid $117.70 after all ticketmaster fees.

EDIT: just an update. Someone here has requested to purchase just one. So, if you are interested in only one ticket let me know and I'll split it between the two of you. If you want both of course, they're yours.

Oh, and I have the tickets as pdfs so I can just email them to you and you can print them off.

Thanks guys. I was able to sell both quickly. I really wish I could go, but you know, it's a bad economy.

Cheap shot, duke. The advantage of a list like this is getting insider info or being able to connect with others who might be driving in. Someone from Toledo could stop by the airport and pick him up, or he can connect with multiple people flying in and share a metro cab.

Wow, why didn't you post "I'm a mean spirited douche" rather than that. It'd actually make you look better.
