Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany Schalke lost 4-1 to Bayern. Don't know if Uchida played or was responsible, but it certainly hasn't been a good week for Schalke.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany He played and like the rest of the team, was pretty abysmal.

Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany So far, Uchida burned once by Berba, but also just made a crucial sliding challenge to prevent a clear shot on goal. Now they seem to be blaming him for the goal MAn U just scored, I guess because he was the one who made the suicide backpass that led to thebreakaway? I can't really tell on my low-res feed in Swedish.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany Now Uchida just set somebody free in the box (JUrado?) on a beautiful ball over the top, but it was squandered.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany And that's two for United. Some miserable defending on the left and center that Uchida wasn't involved in.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany And Schalke gets one back. All started with a vicious cross in from Uchida that found Raul's head in heavy traffic, the loose ball was then smacked in by maybe Jurado? Great play from him
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany Uchida puts in another good cross that results in some scrappy play around the box and a FK for Schalke in a good position.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany Uchida does very well to cut out a dangerous through ball after Schalke's 567th stupid giveaway in midfield.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany Oh yeah, they just did the telestrator replay, and that giveaway on the first goal wasn't Uchida's fault at all.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany At the half Schalke takes off Baumjohann for Edu. That's hard to understand, he's just going to be starved for service and useless like in the first leg, whereas Schalke was finally effective linking defense to attack in the first half. Bizarre.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany Uchida seems to be doing a really good job keeping Nani under wraps so far. Amazing save by Neuer on Anderson there.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany Uchida is pissing me off in this half. He is playing so conservative with his positioning and become useless to the attack. He is making NO runs. As a result Schalke has no width. Your team is down three goals man, what the hell are you doing?
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany That central defender was shouting at him earlier in the game. Probably he had another go in the changing room, so now Uchida is not going forward as much.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany Just like I said, putting in Edu completely killed Schalke's momentum, such as it was. They've looked as toothless as ever. And there's Man U's third. It's hard to know whether to blame Uchida for that or not. His teammate stupidly loses the ball in the opponent's half, and Uchida closes down the break, then pursues the ball all the way to the left touchline to apply pressure, which causes a loose pass from United that Schalke should gather, but they don't, and then it's a break with two men free in the center, one of whom Uchida should be on but he's out of position, and Farfan has not dropped in to cover for him. But still Uchida comes hurtling in to make a sliding challenge and take the ball off Anderson's foor as he's about to shoot. But then the loose ball is poked in anyway. And now Anderson does beat UCHIDA with a simple run in behind. It's officially a rout. Above all, what stands out is the horrible coaching for Schalke in both legs. Wrong tactics, wrong lineups, wrong attitude, wrong subs, it was just a complete shitshow by Ragnar or whatever his name is.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany And I have to add to that litany, terrible set pieces. Absolute rubbish, with never any danger created.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany Now Uchida has decided to just stop playing defense at all.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany I'm not defending it. I don't know why the guy was picking on Uchida, but I guess he was just looking for someone to sh*t on. He seems to be getting forward again anyway, now that it's a lost cause.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany Nani tries to just push the ball past Uchida and take him for speed. Not happening.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2010/11 [R] - Germany Nani broke Uchida's ankles there, fortunately there was someone to cover.
