Usafan... 2.5 spots of Puerto Rico are up for grabs via the super Copa. Islanders NEED to play in Puerto Rico so that the CFU will allow them to participate.

1 and 2 have guaranteed spots, wheras the 3rd place team is supposed to play a playoff against another team in the caribbean.

Thanks man, and last question: since the teams played 6 games in the group, were they home-and-away games (e.g. the Islanders playing three games in the Loubriel and one each in Juncos, Caguas and wherever PR United plays)?

There is a puerto rican in the Barcelona youth system his like 13 years old. I don't really know anything about this Sergio Roberto kid, I was under the impression that he was catalan and has played for the Spanish youth teams, maybe one of his parents is puerto rican?

The kid, from Puerto Rico, is Tadzio Pérez. I also play with an spaniard from Canary Islands and one day he told me about a place in Gran Canaria that called Puerto Rico too, maybe the Puerto Rico that GolTV's talking about is this place.

There are some links about Puerto Rico from Gran Canaria:

The Pre selection won 2-0(Pito), although it was a very informal game where for example Cabrero switch sides at halftime.

It's the same stadium, they're just remodeling, expanding and making it more to a "soccer" type stadium with FIFA regulations.

Tough set of games. But, I like it that Campos stayed with a mix of young and old. Is there a concern up top (lack of scoring) or are there problems with the mid-field or just all over?

Is this the year for the Digicel Nations Caribbean Cup? And if so when will that take place? And finally, what does the Blue Hurricane need to do to be competitive?

This squad is relatively "new". There are to many players who participated in the WQC, but they wasn't regular (or key) players. Campos didn't call some key players for those friendlies, the majority was defense.

Yes, June or July. I don't know. More friendlies.

    Thanks for the info.

I cheer for the PR national team, but my heart is with the Islanders. I just don't want PRI to lose a number of players during the season like we did last year. I hope as many players as possible can represent their country (WCQ, Gold Cup or other competitions), but when the Islanders lose 10 players, it makes it hard to stay competitive.

The mentality that has Campos is to use the less possible naturalized, I think this would not affect the Islanders in the future. By now, I think, only Rivera, Delgado, Marrero and Ramos.
