Well it looks like we're still up there as one of the best scoring and defensive teams in the Tourney so far.... Mexico 11 GF, 0 GA +11 GD Costa Rica 12 GF, 1 GA +11 GD United States 6 GF, 0 GA +6 GD Honduras: 5 GF, 2 GA +3 GD yes, I know Costa Rica has "12" goals but we didn't need a ref to give us two shady PK's to get here... and plus they gave up a goal vs. Cuba so that's a no-no. Well hopefully we can keep this up during the next game, but we'll probably get Honduras and they will be a lot tougher then all of our 3 previous opponents, so we'll see how that goes..
Looking at the Espn Deportes bracket it seems wikipedia was right and the OFFICIAL Concacaf Regulation page was wrong. f'kn typical of Concacaf
Are you seriously saying that those weren't deserved? I guess I can see the second PK as being borderline, but the first one was as clear as day...the cuban dude did not even touch the ball... Sorry man, I only got enough for me He's ok, but we'll see how he does against better competition.
yes, I'm sure that in your eyes this Lopez kid has played better then CR's Joel Campbell. But first lets see how you guys play against Panama and then if you get the win tonight, then you can start talking about Lopez vs. the MNT's Defense.
Joel having big games against Guadeloupe and Cuba doesn't tell me much. Both were whoopin sticks of the group. fyi Alex Lopez will not play this game due to having accumulated 2 yellows.
Well, Damn! With Honduras choking how are we going to prove which sqaud is the better of the two?.. Yeah, I know getting eliminated by Panama and finishing the Tournament with a +1 goal differential speaks for itself, but I would have been happier getting the win in an actual game. Any chance Honduras pulls a Costa Rica and finds a way to get Panama disqualified??
Nice for Guatemala, first World cup ever. In un-related news, the USA budget office has cut off all economic aid to Guatemala.
I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you finish, but USMNT had one of the biggest losses of all time to Guatemala. hahahahahahahaha.
Nice Job Guate! I know Guate doesn't really like Costa Rica in futbol but i'm glad you guys made it and have the chance to grow in the U-20 WC and make Centroamerican soccer more competitive. I feel bad that US was eliminated though since they are my 2nd team in CONCACAF and always have amazing young talent...but i'm sure it won't matter too much to the US fans since they still have the best NT in the region alongside Mexico. Glad Panama made it too....they eliminated us in the U-17 WCQ and now Honduras in the U-20 WCQ....IMHO they will be the CA team to give us the most problems for the 2014 WCQ...Watermann is a beast!
Yes first first. This is only happens maybe once in a 100 years... so all of Guatemala city is celebrating right now.
Viva Panama!!!!! So happy that our boys will be representing in Colombia. Congrats also to our other Central American brothers Guatemala and Costa Rica for also making it. Central America representing!!!! Congrats too Mexico as well. Take it easy on us Friday
3 out of the top 4 (and 5 out of the top 7) vote-getters in this poll didn't make the U-20 World Cup.
we're loving him right now. went straight from reserves of Sporting SM (panama), to starting team @ Fenix (uruguay, hasn't started yet due to papers issue..) ..thanks to Jorge Dely who saw him in practice and gave him a chance in a friendly back in september 2010..
question: is Panama to play guatemala or mexico? i'm confused.. seems that it was guatemala at first, but now i'm being told it's mexico.. did concacaf just do a "rule change" during this tourney or what???
