I am very pleasantly surprised by the play of both, but especially the play of Teemu Tainio.
For me he is this year's version of Joel Lindpere. Uhlike Lindpere I knew about Tainio's pedigree, but really had no idea what to expect. I have to take my hat off to Erik Soler, for coming through again.

Teemu is a boss, I'm still not sold on Solli atleast not as a RB. he lucks suspect on defense , he's slow and his crosses are average at best.

    Teemu is a beast.

Solli the jury is definitely still out on. No problems defensively yet, but hasn't really been offerening a lot going forward. He hit a lot of poor crosses last match.

So far i'm happy with both. Tanio has ben great so far with very accurate long passes, and calmness on the ball. Solli looks a bit out of sorts, i kind of expected more speed, but he hasn't been a liability on defense either. RB is not his natural position, so i'm not suprised if there are some hitches.

Tainio has been fantastic so far. His is the reason we could afford to trade Tchani for Dero. He has a crucial role on this team and hopefully his high level of play continues.

Solli has been good, not great. Solid. He does get caught out of position at times but the back line plays well as a unit and credit to him for being able to fit in well. Albright night be a better option there once he is healthy but Solli will have an important role filling in for Richards during the Gold Cup.

Teemu is probably the best passer in MLS.

Teemu is a strange case, his long range passing seems to be more accurate than his short range passing (not that his short range passing is bad at all). Every single ball he puts over the top of the defense lands right on our player's foot, including obviously Agudelo's goal against Seattle.

I really don't think Solli is a rightback and I think Backe is too lenient in thinking that every single player can play 3+ positions. He looked far, far better at LM in the preseason than he has at RB in any of our league games, but now with De Rosario he probably wouldn't get a starting spot in the midfield.

Teemu is clearly a quality player but having played in the Premier League that should be no surprise.

Solli is also an excellent player being played out of position. He needs to be moved to right wing or played in the midfield somewhere. We will not see the best of him playing at RB. He is a class act being made to look painfully average. I find it hard to believe he can be happy playing at RB.

Come on Hans, sort it out!

Tainio: Good decision making. Fits very well in Backe's system. Rarely loses possession. Contributes offensively as well as defensively. With the addition of DeRo, perhaps he can play more of the role that he's used to, since he won't be expected to create as much. If he stays in form, he's a great addition.

Solli: As others have already said, it's clear that he's not yet comfortable at right back. He looks winded a lot of the time, and loses the ball on the wing sometimes. I don't know if moving him up to his midfield position would help, as his crossing so far has also left a lot to be desired, and I don't know if he would be an option over Richards or Lindy. Still, he may be our most solid option in RB. Let's give him time.

I think he's stuck there until Albright is back, at minimum.

Originally I thought having him on the left and Lindpere in the middle would be a good combo, since he obviously liked to run in towards the middle from that position Lindpere could easily slide out wide. But now with De Rosario I don't think he fits in to the starting midfield.

    Tainio is elite.

Solli is a mix. Very good defensively, and makes good decisions. The only problem is that he has too many mistouches. That is something that can get better though, so I'm hopeful.
