Belize Premier Football League final score: FC Belize-1; Hankook Verdes-0.

[KREM audio commentary included how the talent level has become "mediocre" because of players lost to the Super League.]

There is a lot going on between the two leagues right now, with players bailing from the Belize Premier Football League to the Belize Bank Super League. The Belize Premier Football League is now down to only 4 teams. According to the KREM announcers, during their last webcast, about 1/2 of the players on FC Belize are young rookies, with their other players leaving for the Belize Bank Super League, and according to the announcers, bringing the quality of BPFL play way down. Unlike the BPFL, the Belize Bank Super League is not associated with the Football Federation of Belize. The FFB is having its own other set (or perhaps related set) of problems. Obviously there is not a lot of progress for Belize in regards to the Champions League, etc.

There are two leagues: The BPFL, which the Concaf Champions League place goes to, and the Super League, which the FFB does not recognise. I believe the Super League was a break-a-way league due to a lot of the players in Belize disliking the FFB.

Belize Bank sponsor the Super League and Caribbean Motors sponsored the opening season of the BPFL, I'm not sure if they are sponsoring the closing season as well though.

The North, Central America and Caribbean Zone will contest play-off matches in June 2011 in order to reduce the number of teams included in the Preliminary Draw for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ in Rio de Janeiro on 30 July 2011.

The region’s ten lowest ranked teams according to March’s FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking were paired against each other to produce a series of five play-off matches which will be played on a two-legged, home and away basis.
