    Yes

It's the one thing I have totally hated on him for since the very beginning

But this wouldn't nearly have been the factor it is if any of the ownership/FOs over their history didn't carry massive amounts of baggage.

    +1

Can't wait for this to go down in flames, and end this embarrassment to MLS already.

After reading the article the thought came to me that the possibility of seeing the New York Cosmos playing in Harrison with RedBull as shirt and stadium sponsor is much greater than seeing two teams in the NJ/NY area. Where Kelmsley would get the $$$ to buy out Red Bull with the Wilpons on the dole is anyones guess but it would still be cheaper than building a stadium in one of the 5 boroughs.

You are all of course invited to come to the question and answer session the Borough Boys are hosting for the New York Cosmos. Come with tough questions, but be polite.

March 23, 7 pm at Legends on 33rd Street in Manhattan.

This is your chance to put your questions straight to the source, rather than speculate on line.

This is the meeting that was supposed to answer so many questions:
    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...sful-qa-with-the-new-york-cosmos-front-office

Are you f'ing kidding? No Kemsley. No Byrne. No Cantona. No Johnson. Instead you got Savarese (bless him), Cherry and Fraga. Not exactly an opportunity to put questions "straight to the source."

From the reports I've seen, no news at all. Just a lovefest between employees and the Boys.

    4-3-3! 4-3-3! LOL.

And you were too scared to come and ask questions. literally two blocks out of your way. Internet spitballer. you've now shown your true stripes. No credibility, no balls, not a fan. Just an internet loser.

You know BBs, you give people an opportunity to really put it to the Cosmos or even the Borough Boys for that matter, in person. People who claim to be Cosmos fans, people who claim to be New York Soccer fans. Now you know who are the fans who take some responsibility, and who are the anonymous internet "tough guys".

If there was any doubt, now we know for sure. DoctorK is exhibit A.

Too scared? Too busy. And you're too busy dropping hints about where I live and work. Creepy, especially from someone I've never met.

Say I'm not a man for missing a Boys party all you like. Funny stuff.

The hype about getting answers from the source, now, was that a lie or were you Boys deceived on that front? I would have thought listening to Kemsley, Byrne or Johnson a waste of time.

Why would I want to ask Gio, Cherry or Fraga about any of my concerns or share my opinions with them on the Cosmos legacy or NY2 in such a forum? Really, why are you so upset I didn't go to your event? Were you hoping a Bulls fan would come by to inject some drama into the event and play the villain?

"You didn't come to my party so now I hate you!" Time for a diaper change.

    Sixteen years and counting.

This was my take too DoctorK.

When I saw the lineup for F.cosmos the whole venture lost some of its importance IMO. None of the guys who are actually fundraising and have skin in the game, just a NY/NJ/Conn metro soccer hero, a marketing guy, and a PR guy. Still there were moments worthy of speculation.
    • Multiple stadium sites being investigated in a least three boroughs likely means no real stadium plan yet. No mention of how the stadium would be financed and whether the city would be expected to contribute at least for infrastructure and how the city is initially reacting to any requests to play a financial role.

    • Fraga (who has spoken loosely at times in the past...not even the main spokesperson any longer...don't know if he's to be taken literally) reportedly said that the money for this venture comes in part from the leading figures in the "club". Combine this with the Borough Boys letting the cat out of the bag concerning F.cosmos trying to negotiate down the expansion fee and you may have some evidence that money is tight on Greene Street.

    • No mention of who any additional investors might be and not even trying to describe them without directly naming them means the critical questions of money and ownership are still a mystery.

    • This "dreaming" of entering the league combined with the 2013 goal and the sticking with the quest even if it means 21 or 22 may indicate that this venture is still way up in the air and could play out in any of a number of different ways.

    • Wilpon morphs on almost a weekly basis. He's in, he's out, he's in (Garber), and apparently he's now a sideshow according to Greene Street. With the discussion of multiple stadium sites it appears F.cosmos may have moved on.

    • Is the expansion fee dispute revelation combined with 2 MLS lawyers in attendance suggesting that this thing may be moving beyond any possible scapegoating of Garber to actual litigation?!?!? (absolute speculation here, lol)

Image over substance, an event billed as an opportunity to have the critical questions answered instead turned into the same old assertions with no additional supporting evidence but delivered this time live and with real feeling even if it was by the F.cosmos' "B" team.

    wow..no...
Fraga is basically running the show as far as the day to day stadium issues and city politics...he's exactly who should have been there.
Fraga is the one that spews the least amount of bullsh*t and is a very straight shooter the many times I met him.

And as far as the haggling over franchsise fee...how does that make money tight? You don't think Garber is trying to gouge serious money from this organization based on the fact they want it so bad?
It's a discussion because Garber wants more money, and the Cosmos are saying to Garber, our return to top flight would MAKE the MLS more money.
Remember, there is no set price for the fee right now...
which puts everyone in a very sticky situtation.

Absolutely. And Terry Byrne met with a couple of the BBs monday night just to answer a few questions and work out logistical issues, and it was clear, It's Joe Fraga who is running the day to day and has the knowledge about every facet of what they are doing.

PS, Chupacabra is another of the folks I invited to ask a tough question, but no, another one who just wants to hide behind a computer and throw spitballs.

Zensum, honestly, come introduce yourself to some of us at JDs on saturday and let's talk about it before the game. Truthfully, let's all talk in person because I think it would help us better understand your skepticism and you will see too that we have been skeptical all along and understand that at bottom, it is deeds that will convince us ultmately over words. And you might get a little more information from us about their seriousness.

At bottom, we can support rival teams and even hate each other, but we all have a stake in the success of the league. We should have an open dialogue beyond the big soccer bullsh!te.

Wow, you've really cheapened one of the most important moments in the history of music. What do you think John Lydon would say about a bunch of grown ups running around buying kits with soda can logos on them and going to game chanting the name of an energy drink.

I mean, as a Red Bull fan of all things you really have made an incredibly ironic mistake buy, I mean by, using the Sex Pistols to prove a point.

Thanks for the satisfaction. I did it just to piss YOU off. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Sucker.

And while we're at it, Kemsley and his band of grifters are cheapening the legacy of one of the greatest teams in US soccer history.

And here's Lydon's response to your inane comment >

It pissed me off from a music standpoint. I can't stand it when people who are ignorant about the punk legacy comment on it and get it totally wrong. But if you want to talk some more about Kemsley and his band of grifters, PM me and we can talk.

Oh, it's the "punker than thou" statement. You don't know who I am and you never will, but I was involved with the birth of punk in London and L.A. during the late 70s and early 80s in ways you could never imagine. Your candyass view of punk's legacy is a fantasy, made to swindle gullible people like you (which makes it easy to understand why you gobble down Kemsley's ruse like Lydon munching on a buttery crumpet). Despite what you think, most punk musicians were and still are in it for the money. Now go cry into your Doc Martens® and don't soil your Hot Topic™ undies you muppet.

Well, you see, you still don't get it. First, John Lydon was selling his product to the fools, wasn't he? He wasn't buying, he was selling. As a Red bull fan, you are one of John Lydon's fools, buying the product being sold to you by your Austrian puppet master. If you owned Red Bull, or making money off of red bull, rather than giving them your money, then you would have a point. John Lydon, Dietrich Mateschitz and I all laugh at you for your gullibility. You misunderstand both Jonny Rotten and John Lydon.

Beyond that, you also don't seem to realize that the Clash had a very different vision than the Pistols, didn't they (have you heard of them?). Anyway, I was filmed for the Joe Strummer documentary Let Fury have the hour, so I put my "punk" credentials up against yours any day, even though, as kingsy points out, you wouldn't see me in docmartens today.

That, plus, I didn't move to the suburbs.
