But we have only one special event ticket in our season ticket packages. I guess we'll have to pay for one of these matches.

And I don't see how a Revs vs. ManU match will be competitive at all. Loads of people will come to watch ManU and laugh at how bad the Revs are. None of these people will be 'converted.'

Definite step up from last year's friendlies. Could be fun.

Yep, and our season tickets wil entitle us to pre-sale and discounts. Let's do it!!

    SPECIAL GAMES NOT SPECIAL ENOUGH

I don't care man, both of these sound like they're going to be ridiculously fun. I can't see the US or the Revs winning, but I'm looking forward to the games. Hope everything pans out!

In terms of reputation, yes, but inviting two teams with big local followings was a smart move.

Easily the biggest friendlies ever at Gillette for both the USMNT and Revs.

Quite possibly the biggest friendly ever for the USMNT in Foxboro.

It looks like we'll be painting some "WE'RE HERE EVERY WEEK, WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU PEOPLE BEEN?!" and "REAL AMERICAN SOCCER FANS OVER HERE, HOW BOUT YOU" style banners.

I'm thinking the opportunity exists for one helluva USMNT supporters gathering somewhere in Boston prior to the Spain match.

This is great news on both fronts.

Gillette has deserved a decent USMNT match for some time and the Revs deserve to be put on the map for once.

Doesn't get an bigger than this on club or country level. Kudos to the FO for putting this together.

    Very excited.

I'm thinking the Pour House, Lir, McGreevy's, Whiskey's, the Globe, and wherever else in that neck of the woods, and then a giant rally in Copley Square.

oh god, it's 3 months away. How the hell am I supposed to wait I want this to happen NOW

Yeah, it makes sense to alienate the soccer fans in the area just because they don't go to Gillette every week to watch the Revs. God forbid they come in and ruin your little social club. It's not their fault that Kraft has to look outside of New England to find teams that people actually want to come watch. Maybe they should make a more compelling product to attract those people.

If you were being sarcastic, I apologize. It's just frustrating, because there are clearly soccer fans here, and we shouldn't be fighting each other. Unfortunately, Revs management has divided the soccer community in New England rather than uniting it.

I am happy that they decided to actually add some good matches for Special Events this summer. Please try to refrain from turning this into a Kraft bitching session and all other types of whining

Pretty excited about this news. With special event A I was expecting a friendly with maybe another Brazilian team but I was not expecting Man U. I was also not expecting the US to come to Gillette after we were awarded no games for the Gold Cup but I'll definitely take this.

I honestly don't know if Bob, Jonathan or KSG in general knows the difference between the fans.

I don't think the "fans" who'll definitely come for the Man U game necessarily hate the Revs..because I've already seen a shift by my Serie A snob friends that what's going on in RSL, RBNY, the Northwest and MLS in general is VERY Positive!! So if they can get the Kraft stigma out of their heads they could conceivably become Revs fans...but the chucky cheese marketing and raiding of the Soccer AARP has to slow down and/or disappear for this team to be truly taken seriously!!

Re: International Friendlies: New England vs. Manchester United and U.S. vs. Spain

Well, this is probably the biggest opportunity they have had in years to try and attract these people. I really like that they seem to be reaching out to those types of fans to bring them into Gillette, and at the same time, showcase their local product. They are bringing in the most recognizable club in the world, the World Cup winners and our own National team...what an opportunity to endear themselves to the vast community of soccer fans who don't regularly attend Revs games. I think this has the opportunity to be one of the most positive things the Revs have ever done if they do it right. I called it a money-grab in another thread, but I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek. I really like this news.

I'm not in a supporters group, but I think any attempt to alienate, or differentiate, the supporters group fans, from the rest of fans who will be in attendance at this event, is a huge mistake, and will undermine any goodwill attained by getting these people in the building.

Very excited as well, I have a hard time believing that 5,000 ST holders will have Man U tickets for $15(Fort) to $52(Club) if they include them as a special event ticket. (season ticket cost over 15games 3events)

Would they even let us "add-on" tickets for the event? Or would anyone I wanted to join me be paying full price, with the possibility of not sitting anywhere near me?

Also , I expect it to be laughably easy for United to break down our defense, any predictions? Should we bring their keeper a chair and some ice tea?

Definitely excited by this. More excited by Man U. vs Revolution as it showcases the team. The Spain match is an added bonus but I would have driven to CT to see it otherwise.

Maybe the turnout is big enough to warrant a pre-and-post game tailgate!
