Considering our wide range of interest, and that the list of famous people isn't going to stop growing, I figured it's about time we stopped starting a thread every time someone even remotely famous passes away.

    So here goes.

I am feeling great sadness feelings about famous person's death.

I'm thinking I should amend the thread title to "R.I.P./B.I.H" to, you know, cover our bases for when Kim Jong-il finally kicks or Cristiano Ronaldo tightens that auto-erotic asphyxiation belt one notch too many.

I think this thread needs a [R] tag.

    Seconded. No disrespect.

I could have gone until the next award season before hearing about Alfred. That sucks.

There there it's time to be a big boy and accept the fact people die.

Please remove the R. What is wrong with some of you. It's not like you are going to watch a game later than originally broadcast.

this will be helpful in ensuring that nobody knows who has died unless they read the Big Soccer Obits every day. ;)

It's as if the spirit of Karl Pilkington has entered into the minds of certain posters on this thread. It's a riot.

I think this thread needs to be deleted, and individual threads be used in its place. I am strongly opposed to this Goodsportization of yet another forum.

Nah, keep the thread. It'll be needed when Charlie Sheen kicks the bucket.

Then make a thread called "Charlie Sheen kicks the bucket" and people will know what is in the thread. This stupid thread is so general that you have to read it to find out whether you want to read it or not.

Re: Famous person is dead. R.I.P.

I object to the use of an R I cannot believe a mod actually added one. Who is stupid and childish enough to care not to know who died. Unbelievable! !! Also I agree individual threads are best or create a sub forum for obituaries.

I'm surprised there isn't a thread to get him his own forum.

Re: Famous person is dead. R.I.P.

The premise is pretty simple: this is a thread for lesser-known celebrity deaths. We don't need a bunch of 3 post threads about celebrities no one's heard of. That wastes bandwidth. If you see this thread get bumped, you'll know an obscure celeb has passed. Then you click to see who it was.
