wow just saw the highlights. but hey, our luck had to run out sometime, those missed penalties by opponents, uncalled penalties against us, super man in the arco, that all runs out. this team just always seemed to have a little luck on our side, which was what kept allowing us to have those two so called fowards on the starting line up, having a blast missing shots, probably luaghing it off at practice. De jesus was just a major flop this tournament and Montaño doesnt feel like a true foward. Chile has already shown they mean business, that offense hasnt been shut down once this hexagonal, maybe even tournament, (im not too sure about the second). but one thing is for sure, somebody better find the back of that net on staurday, cause chile's not going out with a 0-0.

I'd like to see what Vizuete says about Saturday's game. Are we going for the win, or are we going to play like against Colombia? Are we going to prove our young guys are among the best, or are they going to collapse under the pressure like Ecuador has always done historically?

Finally, will Vizuete prove he can inspire the team all the way to the end, or do like on the National Team and do great at the beginning, but throw it all away in the last few games???

Agreed. Vizuete needs to watch some Hitler videos on youtube.

ok well i can't back him up on all his misses but the probability of him missing a goal THAT EASY like the one he did against uruguay again is really low.

BTW he didn't miss that open shot against Argentina, Im pretty sure that was the "wonder kid" Cazares that's supposedly "sick".

I'll still hold my ground with my belief that he'll be a great player. If Cristian Benitez and Felipe Caicedo (as impossible as that seemed) have fixed their errors up then so can Marlon.

IF Vizuete can't get us to the World Cup, I think he'll always be remembered as the coach that put us within one point of two World Cups....eeeewww

at the end of the day he's not to blame. It's the attitude of the players. I remember saying that Colombia and Brazil were gonna be the toughest matches, whether it was the attitude of the players that were involved or the difficulty of the game on the field. If there were any 2 rivals in this qualification round to NOT f*ck around with, it was Colombia and Brazil. Colombia is a rival that is historically complicated for Ecuador, but THIS time Ecuador could have actually won if they wouldn't have played with that cocky attitude. They put themselves in a position where they were feeling too comfortable with the positive results they were getting that they thought they had qualified after the first two matches. And now against Brazil they couldn't put themselves together. And it's tough to do that against the best team of this tournament.

Defeating Chile isn't impossible b/c we are much better. IMO we're top 3 with Uruguay and Brazil. It will all depend on the attitude of the players. NOW they will be playing under pressure and it will be really difficult. We'll see their true personality to confront games of this intensity on Sunday.

were going to play what we usually play in games like this a 1-10 formation, with our goalie being the biggeet attacking threat and 10 desperate guys right behind him.

were going to prove what we always do, our guys have POTENTIAL. but the crappy thing about that is, its a nice word to describe someone who hasnt done sh!T. Vizuete and his "men" are going to tuck in their sacks and hope that chile all of a sudden cant score. LIKE, WELL, ALWAYSSSSSSSSS

I think Ecuador is going to go all out and win this 5 - 0. They are good enough to do this to Chile. They just need to play like they do when they are losing.

I do not profess to know everything there is about futbol nor do I know when to apply a 4-4- 2 or 4-5-1(actually 4-5-1 is more defensive ,right???)ha ha. my assessments will be more from a cheerleading realm.so with out further ado I salute all ye futbolers..;)

now that i got that out of the way.let me comment on our mini tri.really, the lack of finishing prowess is becoming more pathetic ,before it was just laughable, but now what is the problem?just what is it about our coaching or lack of, where these kids arent learning how to kick a ball into the net.we have the least scored on squad in this tournament ,the only team to beat us is Brazil, yet we are still clawing our way for a spot for the cup instead of being a contender for the olympics.i know some of you dont like caicedo but to me he was the reason the Brazilians were backed into their corner, call him guerron on steroids, but this guy has potential,he's less of a ball hog than guerron IMO .some of the ecua players need to accompany these players when they're making their move,i saw some players just standing around to see if it was worth their time to position themselves.the FEF should start a FORWARD camp to get these kids to properly kick the ball into their net.I can just imagine having just one decent forward, this seleccion would be one to reckon with.

I think the state of the pitch favors our players, who are a bit stronger and faster. In these conditions, you just want to push the ball ahead and not take too many touches.

WOW...de Jesus cannot score for his life...
