Mikey does have the Marine Corp buzz cut. No bling with Bradley which I'm sure sits fine with the General.
My bad. Regardless, Coker has been below average this season and petrov has shown some age. He has made a few mistakes and hasn't looked that great.
A little video I made for the occasion: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rm4X6Hv5qk"]YouTube - Michael Bradley to Aston Villa[/ame]
Transfer to Villa expected per Sky Sports. So, can this be completed in time for him to play against ManU tomorrow?
Houllier used the dreaded term "hard-working" to describe Bradley, which when applied to Americans is European code for "doesn't know how to play football."
No he still needs a work permit so that will take a few days. He should get one easy though. I expect him by Saturday playing against Dempsey and fulham
We won't know if it's a fad until Arsene Wenger hops of the bandwagon. Get me some "hard-working" wink wink Americans!
Spot on and moreover, it certainly seems that Mike agreed with the rest of us who thought Turkey was a bad move. I am completely stoked for this move, we now have 5 midfielders in the most competitive (I did NOT say best), league in the world. Are you F'ing kidding me? We will not only be able to see every game easily and evaluate them against the same competition, we will be able to evaluate many of them heads up. For Mike individually I am thrilled. The fact that it is a loan seems like an extremely high risk/reward scenario for Mike and considering it is halfway through the season he will have his work cut out for him to prove himself. Having said that, if anyone has enough drive and fight it is Mike. The real question is does he have the talent, we have and could continue to go back and forth on that forever, but the exciting thing is that we will actually be able to see it on the pitch now. AWESOME!
Why'd he want out of 'gladbach anyways? Just the relegation issue or has there been talk of a rift with the coach?
Rift with the coach, there are links early on, but we are sweeping that under the rug and moving on. I will add that the manager certainly seemed crazy for benching Bradley in the first place and the fact that he has led them into a relegation fight does not speak highly of him. On the other hand an argument can be made for the fact that they are playing a little better since Bradley's benching, maybe. In any case, onward and upward for Bradley imo.
We suspect the latter as BMG fans, especially as there supposedly was one at the beginning of the previous season. Plus coaches tend to get a bit irrational in a relegation battle. Sometime a coach will pick on one of his best players in order to make a point to the rest. There are indications this happened during the last match of the first half vs Hamburg in Dec.
That was a piece of investigative journalism of the same paper which reported he was on his way to Feyenoord. Might be true, might be crap.
From BBC Sport's David Ornstein: "Just spoke to Gerard Houllier: Stephen Ireland move to Newcastle still ON despite rumours of a failed medical, Aston Villa and Newcastle in talks as we speak. Michael Bradley is a "done deal" and Ashley Young is "100% staying". From the BBC tracker.
Somebody probably got him confused with Meeuwis, who *is* on his way to Feyenoord. That has been officially reported on BMG's home page--oddly the reason given was that he was playing the same position as Bradley and they did not need him for the second half of the season. It is a loan too--which makes three loans out during the winter break. One wonders if they figure these guys could be useful in the 2 BL if that happens.
Usually a relegation-threatened club doesn't loan out players, they sell them, or get new ones. Right?
I was hoping for this to drag deep into the (UK) night like Berbatov/Robinho in 2008. Too bad. Congrats to their new #13 Michael Bradley, and hopefully he is able to play tomorrow.
