Might explain the alleged interest in Vargas? Could fill in on the left flank as well as an additional LB option.
We need someone anyways, this might have added some urgency.

Kicker says LvG told MvB before Christmas that he would lose his starting spot to Kroos.

He's doing well considering we are lining up Germany's best goalkeeper to replace him if he screws up.

He looks strong on reflexes and jumping, put positionally he needs work. He is still young.

that's exactly what people said about Rensing too. Goalies usually don't reach their peak until late twenties early thirties. What did Rensing in more than performances was his arrogance.

in lazy mode again? Where has anyone of the officials recently said that the squad is too big? The last statements in this regard where made in summer under different circumstances which have now changed in winter with 4 players gone and only 1 signed

Really? Yes, the FO signs the papers but it was LvG who deemed Demi surplus, who wanted Braafheid and then deemed him not good enough, and who told MvB that he was not necessarily needed anymore.

Yet he got LG, the player he wanted. It's too simple to just say that it's all on the FO. They have been only reacting to what the coaches has wanted lately.

Now, we don't know how many guys have been recommended by him. But getting the players during the winter is another story.

Our FO is too busy sitting on their asses doing nothing to pull together any transfers in the next few days, imo.
But at least he's getting realistic about the squad.

Are you sharing your account with someone else or why do your post sometimes look clever and the next day plain stupid?

And to the matter at hand, LvG is maybe the first coach in years at Bayern that actually manages to get the complacency out of the bench players, more precisely the happy look at their bank account, and tells them straight into the face you are bench player and your perspective to play will be pretty low. Also he manages to get the fat players that live off their past merits (Micho, Bommel) to question themselves and look for other pastures when he tells them that he plans with someone else starting.

But you probably are going to tell me now that this is a bad thing, because you are in bitching mode today. However back to the matter at hand and what you also fail to understand. In the case of for example Bommel the FO could have easily said "no, that is too risky for us you have to sit out your contract even as bench player". Just like they had stopped other players looking for other pastures (Gomez, Tymo) already. Are you really trying to tell me that the FO wouldn't do that if they think it would be wise doing? Reality is that FO agrees with LvG and rightfully shipped out Bommel, Demichelis and Braafheid. Players that either did nothing or were way past their best already. What attempts have been made to sign players besides LG, Usami or Baines is certainly not 100% clear to the usual fan but certainly in the area of power/influence of the FO in the persons of Lehrlinger or Rummenigge. If they couldn't signed anyone, or if they didn't want sign one is hardly to blame - like your are doing it - on LvG. Some people really pretend that they've slept in the past few years while being Bayern fans and thus not having a clue how things work at Bayern

You probably gonna blame LvG too that the FO showed their usually attitude "this player or no one" in the case of Baines

Yeah, but Neuer is great now. Not sure I see the sense in trying out someone else, in case he is similarly good, while Neuer goes somewhere else (I know it's been said many times, but I hadn't said it, lol).

Why not try to get Neuer now?, just because Kraft is from the youth academy?, or because of money?.

No, I am not in bitching mode at all. I just think that you should have a plan at hand before you sell players. These players may not be the best or dead weight or living of off past merits so it is good to sell them. However we should have someone ready to fill in when the trimming of the squad leaves us too thin for three competitions. That has not happened and that's why we are having a squad which is deemed too small.

My objection was only because you made it sound like it is the FO's fault for having such a small squad. Obviously coach and FO work hand in hand (mostly) on matters of who gets sold. LvG said that the players need to go and the FO signed the papers. I understand now how your previous post was intended:eek:.

BTW- I don't share my account but I have a tough time filling in things into post that expect you to know where the other poster is coming from.

You answered your own question. It is because of money. We have him right now, he is adequate compared to Butt (same level).

If he succeeds, we save at least 20M which can be invested into other areas (CB, LB, FW - Klose leaving, Olic injury - RW, LW depth).

Additionally, he is a Bavarian, so he identifies with the club and the supporters with him. He does not need to get used to a new environment and to fan back lash like Neuer would.

He does not have the pressure to justify a huge fee.
