Hey Yas, you watching the big tennis match tonight? I figured with the whole Ukraine vs GB thing you would be. Should be a good match.

I really really liked him, but he didn't fit Julien's defensive style. And if we get the no 2 over all(Seguin), plus another top 3-7 pick, can't be disappointed.

Yeah, but Toronto missed a golden chance to finally draft a future franchise player yet again because of that. Since Wendel Clark, we have not had a draft pick pan out into a truly meaningful player, and we got him in 1985. Can you f*cking believe that?

As for making the playoffs, it will happen eventually I suppose. I just hope that when we do eventually win the Stanley Cup again, all the fans go crazy and smash through the plexi glass to celebrate with the team, rip the seats from the holsters, and just basically tear that whole arena apart as it would serve no purpose anymore after that.

Yeah Kessel is a nice goal scoring wing with speed, but that's not worth the money he wanted from the Bs, 2 high 1st rounders and a 2nd, is too much imo for a player of that nature/stature

FFS, I thought it couldn't get much more depressing as a Dodgers fan with the Giants winning a ring last year.

And then I perused the list. Only 3 in the top 100 and the highest of those is at 70. Ugh. Sign me up for another decade of mediocrity already.

EDIT: For those just interested in the names you can check this out, though there is no commentary on each prospect.

Amazing that the Phil's already have their next generation waiting in the wings. A team that has more chance, imo, to dominate the next 5 years than any others and I include the big NE outfits.

I like that San Diego's top 2 prospects are the guys we traded them for Gonzalez. Theo has a strong grasp on using the system to build within and to add integral pieces to long term success. even after losing the top 2 players in the system, the organization is ranked a respectable 11th, with 2 picks in the first round this season.

    Phils are 5th, quite impressive

Having seen a lot of Gonzilla the last few years (several times live), I think he's a great pick up for you guys. He always felt like a big fish in a little pond (the only reason he hadn't moved sooner was that he is local to SD and showed some loyalty by trying to by the centrepiece of a team that was never going to spend enough) and I think will adapt well to the NE. Giving up two solid prospects for him is about right, but you will get your money's worth.

Not sure how much the East Coast will have seen of him, with the Padres not being on tv much out there and the games on late, but beyond the stats (which are impressive) his game is fantastic and he has been a favourite of mine for a while. I wish he had been traded to LA (they tried) but they wanted prospects and at least one of Ethier/Kemp/Loney.

    waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

Ive been a Giants fan for 32 years, cry about it :p

If they'd stop buying every overpriced FA on the market and built a team around pitching and TEAM players, they might do better.

Any LA team can EAD, unless its the Galaxy :p

Yeah theyy projected his swing at Fenway, nasty.

Your post is about how I feel at getting Crawford, who playing for Tampa, I am sure many don't see often, but living in FL I see all the time. Phenomenal player, leader, character.

    Cheers!

I grew up a Giants fan in NorCAL, same little city Rob lives in now, and learned to hate any team from LA.

Yeah. They also played in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), a national amateur league at the fourth tier of the US footie. They won the NPSL back in 2006. The league folded however. Suck we don't have any professional footie now.

I remember the first year I played soccer as a kid, 78. Was in the days of the old NASL and Sac had a team, the Gold, how original!

We got to see them for free at Hughes stadium.

forgot to put this at the end of my sentence  . Don't get me wrong I like Kessel as a player, but don't think he'll be worth the 2 first round picks.
