The Superdraft Era 2000: Ali John Utush - F - notable for being the second to last pick in the 6th round by that LA Galaxy. DC United passed on the 72nd pick of the draft 2001: Matthew Cross - KC Wizards - GK from Brown 6th round. His wiki link points to some Australian rugby league player born in '81 that is 6'4" and bald. Looks and smells like a keeper, but no confirmation of whether or not he tended You're With Me Leather's nets. 2002: Lars Lyssand (M) - Earthquakes from San Jose State - 6th round. He too has no wiki page. 2003: Byron Carmichael (F) - KC - 6th round. Has no wiki page. 2004: Jeff Parke - D - Metros - 6th round. Probably the best known Mr. Irrelevant yet. I must say that three names jumped out immediately in the 6th round of this draft: Alan Gordon, Andy Dorman (2 picks prior to Jeff), and Jeff Parke. 2005: Tim Merritt - D - DC United - 6th round. Actually has a wiki page. Tim spent one year with DC. Then bounced around. Played '09 with Miami FC and last year in the Open Cup with CASL Elite. 2006: Aaron King - F - LA Galaxy - 4th round. Bounced around a fair bit in the states. Spent last year with FC Tampa Bay. 2007: Eric Ebert - M - Houston Dynamo - 4th round. Played 7 games with Chivas USA the following year. Roger Ebert was seen giving 1 thumb at this selection. 2008: Jeremy Barlow - M - Houston Dynamo - 4th round. Bounced between 3 teams without ever playing in MLS. Appears to have played 3 games last year for the Richmond Kickers. 2009: Chris Clements - D - Crew - 4th round. Played last two years in Minnesota (Thunder then NSC Minnesota Stars). I originally did a double take thinking his name was Chris Claremont. Loved "God Loves, Man Kills" and he seems to have perfectly pegged England with his creation of Captain Britain. 2010: Kris Banghart - D - RSL - 4th round. No wiki page. 2011: Alan Koger - F - Revs - 4th round. No wiki page. We all hope you do better than banging Kris' Hart. I mean Kris Banghart.
IIRC, Lyssand actually played in the A-League for a year or two, and I seem to recall Carmichael playing professionally at some level (possibly indoor).
