    I wish Boca Juniors was in it. It's just not the same without Boca.

    Oh well, maybe next year...

    Don't trip, they'll have the chance to go to the CWC, which will make up for their shafting from the Lib Cup.

    Yeah, it hurts me too to see great clubs like that have to share the same pitch with strange little teams like "columbus crew" or "salt lake". It's an insult that they have to play those pub teams. But hey, they gotta get just crush those teams so they can go to the CWC and make up for Pachuca's embarrassments. Remember, the CWC will give our football more exposure than the Lib Cup.

    i dont know man i would have to say that i dont really care much about CWC not many teams it seems take it very serious and i believe that copa libertadores give them much more exposure and as far as making up for pachucas embarrasing runs in the tourney i totally agree these teams (cruz azul, monterrey, and santos) are much better equipt then what pachuca was. i just wish we had the best of our league to represent us in the tourney like all the other leagues.

    pub Teams?

    that is a new one
    that same lack of respect for MLS, is well translated into the national team of USA.

    All teams take it serious, bro. It takes a lot of wins to get there, plus they have to travel far for it.

    CWC gets more worldwide exposure. Do google searches on both Lib Final and World Final. You'll see. It's broadcast worldwide. Lib unfortunately isn't.

    Anyway, we just gotta consider ourselves fortunate to send any teams at all to this great tournament. Remember, we are merely guests in their party.

    As it seems you don`t live around here. Except for some Brazilians, nobody gives a s***, about the CWC. Around here, international team competition is limited to the Copa Libertadores as the main event, and the Sudamericana in a second place, but very far away in importance with the Libertadores Cup. In fact, many participating teams in that CWC, send their reserves to that tournament, as they have sold most of their top prospect players by then. And as a diference with NT competition, local opponents of the Copa Libertadores Champions, rejoyce themselves with the defeats that the CONMEBOL representative has in that tournament and made a mock on their behalf. (last year, 2010, the ones who most enjoyed Internacional`s defeat in semifinals was Gremio`s fans, of their same city, :p)

    In general it'd seem the europeans are the ones that care less about CWC, and in general in South America we do care about it. Now Rickdog what you say about reserves is quite exaggerated and unreal.;)

    Now what you say about the importance of Libertadores and Sudamericana is true, the same seems to be in every confederation but CONCACAF.

    Re: News: La Copa Libertadores de 2011 ya tiene los 38 equipos clasificados

    Ahora contrataron a Rafael Olarra (semifinalista de la Libertadores 2010 con Univ.de Chile).
    Me parece que el delantero Leo Monje aún no ha renovado su contrato.

    De todas formas el equipo de Unión Española para enfrentar a Bolívar sería algo así:

    Wirth;
    E.González, Espinoza(Ecu), Olarra, Madrid;
    Leal, Scotti(Uru),
    Ligüera(Uru), Harbottle;
    ???, Monje.

    Además tienen al seleccionado Luis P. Figueroa(pero para mí hace años que no tiene un buen nivel).

    En la banca tienen buenos jugadores: Alarcón, Delgado, Villagra, Cordero, Domeneghini(Arg), (M.Aravena), Gattás.

    Look at the rosters, all teams used their 1st team. And go youtube the video of the Rat Pinchers' sending off of Estudiantes in 2009. Epic stuff, and they're not Brasilian.

    Because they fear losing to South American teams.

    Both titles go hand-in-hand. They don't compete for importance. One title is a step to the other.

    Re: News: La Copa Libertadores de 2011 ya tiene los 38 equipos clasificados

    Unión Española se sigue reforzando muy bien:
    Federico Elduayen (arquero uruguayo con experiencia en España y Chile).
    José Pérez (uno de los mejores volantes chilenos del 2010, que para mí debería estar en la selección).
    Mario Aravena (renovó contrato, un excelente enganche).
    Raúl "pipa" Estévez (renovó contrato, puntero argentino).
    Leonardo Monje (goleador, renovó contrato).
    Para la banca tienen a un goleador argentino joven (Nahuel Donadell).

    Posible oncena para enfrentar a Bolívar:

    Elduayen(URU);
    E.González(Figueroa), Espinoza(ECU), Olarra, Madrid;
    Leal, Scotti(URU)(J.Pérez);
    Ligüera(URU), Harbottle;
    Estévez(ARG), Monje.
    DT: Sierra.

    Re: News: La Copa Libertadores de 2011 ya tiene los 38 equipos clasificados

    Wow... looks like Union Espanola is reinforcing pretty strong.....

    Bolivar is gonna have to go hard. They are training right now though like they never have, with the coach putting them through rigorous training regimens like no coach ever has to Bolivar let alone to a bolivian club.

    Bolivars Line Up is looking something like this:

    ----------------------------------------Arguello (Arg)------------------------
    Equino---------------Frontini (Arg)----------------E. Rodriguez-------------L. Alvarez

    --------------------------------------Nacho Garcia------------------------------
    ---------------------W. Flores-------------------------Abdon Reyes--------------

    ---------------R. Cardozo---------------------------------Ze Carlos (bra)----
    ---------------------------------------W. Ferriera (Uru)-------------------------

    Basically this is a whole new starting 11 with Nacho Garcia national team player coming back on loan for the next 6 months to strengthen our midfield. Frontini is a argentine player that comes to strengthen our defense. He is ex' river plate and smaller clubs in Argentina before he went to Cyprus to try his luck in europe. The goalkeeper came from the same big club in Cyprus, another Argentine that has good reflexes and skills it appears.

    Lorgio Alvarez, ex' bolivian international at Left Back to strengthen our attack coming from the back. He was ex' Independiente, Libertad, and Cerro Porteno.

    We also just got in Edemir Rodriguez, a NT level central defender that is 25 and very fast and skilled.

    These are our refuerzos so far. We are said to still be looking at getting a forward to help up front though....

    Re: Copa Libertadores 2011

    U Espanola has a pretty decent team, but it has changed dramatically since the end of the season

    they have a pretty talented team, a hardworking team, but with a lot of movement. Canales is out, a huge loss.. Madrid is out, another big loss (captain)....but Ollarra in defense could be big..

    they were the 4/5 best team in Chile last year in terms of consistency (after Catolica, Colo Colo, Audax, maybe la U).....but they did very well against what most ocnsidered to be a much better team in Audax to make the pre-libertadores

    they also have LP figueroa....who had a monster season the year before last with colo colo, went to Palmeiras and did well...but then sat for a semester, went to UE and didn't play much

    right now he's with the NT.... a talented player who if he finds his place on the team could be among the most important

    Ended 2-0. Dep. Quito tried, but just couldn't do this. Things will probably change in Quito though. MERCOSUR teams always crap themselves in La Altura(except Uruguay recently:D)

    Bah, they were lucky we didn't score earlier we could've been at least 1-0 by the half-time, also that they didn't get send off anybody, every two passes there was a foul!:mad:
    And we can still lose 3-1 in Quito and qualify.

    Bolatti, is it a done deal?

    Nice mess at Liverpool-Grêmio...

    I checked Corinthians-Tolima for a couple of minutes, it finished 0-0, according the commentators the match wasn't any good and Corinthians supporters looked really dissappointed.

    Wow... Alianza are done.... Jaguares up 2 already in the first half IN PERU!

    I feel bad for Alianza. Unlucky stuff, they should have had a goal before the first goal happened against them. Then it went all down hill.

    Doesnt help either that the still always good Damian Manso plays for Jaguares.

    I honestly thought Chiapas was gonna get schooled but they seem to be up to same level with AL. Anyways, good to see one of Mexico's up and comin prospects "Little Rooney" Pedroza (19) score in Libertadores. Chiapas should keep it up and get a bit tight in the back.

    Tolima tied Corinthians in Brasil, aside a few "shispasos" of Ronaldo and company they didnt show anything special to a very organized Tolima which control very well the game and even had chances to win it
