Hey guys, I know I' ve been gone for a long time (almost a year) but I was back in Guayaquil longer than planned now Im in Miami to finish my MD, so before I move on just let me say It's a pleasure reading your Posts again, you have no idea how much more of a supporter ecuas living outside Ecuador are compared to our countrymen back home.

Anyway, I just wanted to get your opinions on whats going on with our NT, what do you guys make of Rueda, how skrewed are we without Valencia, will he comeback at the same level? will Mendez play in the NT again? do we really need him? we lost to Venezuela again thats 4 in a row, who are your fave 22-23 for the NT. pretty much just the National Team period.

We can't beat Venezuela at any level. I think la sub. 20 lost 4-0 just a caouple of days ago.

Oh yeah that, not to make excuses but Vizuete really is missing quite a few starters in that team, I know for a fact that Cazare (river plate kid) is not there same for Augusto Batioja and Edson Montano since them both are in Europe with their clubs.

In South America, not too well. I would say sixth or seventh at this moment. We are still a work in progress.

I think that with the way ALL of South America has been playing any group is "el de la muerte"

every group is tough, there's no grupo de la muerte in South America now a days. and it gets harder to predict outcomes

7 months before Copa America, I think it's plenty of time for us to assemble a decent squad. I like what we have.

I would have Paraguay over Chile but hey thats just me, anyway, if we do ok in a couple of friendlies and make it at least past the second round in Copa America we might crack the top 30s again.

the top keepers we'll probably have next season are Banguera, Cabezas, Elizaga, Klimowicz, and possibly Dominguez. Adrian Bone isnt starting over Klimowicz in Chiquito he made a huge mistake going there he'll probably end up disappearing.

From what I've seen so far I think Rueda list can contain/should contain any one of these names:(from defense and up)

    Eduardo Morante
    Jorge Guagua
    Jairo Campos
    Jefferson Hurtado
    Isaac Mina
    Gio Nazareno
    Juan Paredes
    Walter Ayovi
Miguel Ibarra (who's coming to Liga and almost certainly will get back to a competitive level)

    Antonio Valencia
    Edison Mendez
    Michael Arroyo
    Cristian Noboa
    Segundo Castillo
    Joffre Guerron
    Luis F Saritama
    Jefferson Montero
    Michael J Quinonez
    David Quiroz
    Fernando Guerrero
    Miller Bolanos
    Pedro Quinonez

    Cristian Benitez
    Felipe Caicedo
    Jaime Ayovi
    Joao Rojas
    Marlon De Jesus
    Felix Borja
Cristian Suarez (shouldn't be on the NT but will probably be considered)

Note: I didn't name any promising players that might sprout in the 2011 campeonato or any promising players period. I strictly named people who deserve to be in the NT because they had good seasons in their respective clubs or are labeled the "stars" of the NT like Noboa, Valencia, etc. Of course there are exceptions in my list such as Borja and Cristian Suarez who have a lot more to prove even at club team level.

I agree with you on everything exept pedro quinonez, I think he is nowhere near David Quiroz and Segundo Castillo who play in his position, who knows I might even take Hidalgo over him. oh and I 4 got to include Paredes he is a great player as a midfielder but I hate to see him as a right back.

I would probably too but he is not yet ecuadorian + I believe Borja could explode all his full potential in the mex league.. I remember he did good in rturning Mainz to 1st division I think he scored 16-18 goals that season.

I agree...just because he is playing in Argentina doesnt mean he deserves a call up. The guy has not scored with them and he is largely used as a reserve. I would prefer guys who are performing well and are Ecuadorean. I think you should resort to playing naturalized guys only as a last resort. There are guys who are playing well. Benitez, Caicedo, de Jesus, Rojas will do well in Mexico.

not in Norberto araujo's case, it will be a huge mistake not calling him up for copa america. + Bieler doesn't feel comfortable with Racing if he came back to LDU hell be beast again. I must admit though I would love to have Hernan Barcos naturalized.

I've never played up the nationalization thing...In my opinion, it's no big deal. Honestly, I'd rather have Bieler right now (if he was nationalized this instant) instead of Borja who hasn't played a competitive season for like 2 years. It's an obvious choice.
