I agree so much with your comments. As much as I dislike Barcelona, they will try to at least play. Spurs just got into the final 16. It will be interesting to see who they get matched up with. They scan score their share as long having an ability to not keep clean sheets so their matches most likely won't be 0-0 2 legs going to penalty kicks. That said, I have noticed more high scoring matches in the Europa league at least last season. I can't say much more about the typical CL action than you have already mentioned as it is spot on.
What I think is going to be interesting is comparing Spurs at Home to Spurs Away - they can beat anyone at home (well maybe not Madrid or Barcelona) and can lose to everybody away (Young Boys of Bern.) I think Spurs are a team that will guarantee goals though as you say, and I think they are going to be the most entertaining team to watch. I am glad to notice another person that dislikes Barcelona, sure they play the best football in Europe, but there is something about them I just can't stand. It might be a certain arrogance, or the fact they have a charity on their shirt not to be nice but actually for financial reasons, but it's probably actually jealously, but I'm never going to let them know that.
Manchester United was eliminated in the Quarterfinals. Bayern Munich advanced 4-0 (1-0 and 3-0) over Lyon in one Semifinal.
They are just the big brothers of Arsenal who I despise is how I describe them. They are what Arsenal sort of strives to be. Both think they are untouchable. I appreciate how Barcelona tries to build through the academy but even their crowds are all like they are at the opera. Yeah, Spurs will need to have some good away results or at least score some away goals if they continue on far into the knockout rounds. The Young Boys game sort of woke them up. I don't think they really took this little Swiss team seriously and plus young boys play on that fake grass and really know how to play a style that works on that surface. Speaking of surfaces, I hope Bolton's holds up through out the winter as I am really digging more and more each day I follow them. Granted, they haven't turned total ground ball like Arsenal but Owen does have them passing around.
and never let them forget it Honestly, Derby 07-08 better than Blackpool 10-11?? Blackpool are a good team with good but not world class players. Derby were a complete joke. Yeah I know I'm a month late.
This Blackpool team is worse than the Derby team, I will continue that argument until the death. In terms of player comparisons, Blackpool are just far inferior, but Holloway is getting the most out of them.
Player comparisons there is a debate to be had, but we don't judge teams by individuals we judge them as a unit. Blackpool is a classic case of the sum being greater than the parts. Man City on the other hand, is the exact opposite.
Ah ye of course but I don't mean it in that sense. The manager is so important and can be the difference between success and failure. Take Bolton for example with exactly the same players as we have now Megson had us in the relegation zone, then Coyle takes over and we are in the European spots, the squad is pretty much identical apart from the signings of Petrov and Holden.
It's awfully hard not to like the way Bolton is playing right now and the way that Owen Coyle has those guys fighting up and down the field. I'll probably be pulling for them to earn a CL spot down the stretch.
I always liked Manchester United. 20 years ago one team were fighting for be in Europa League places and now is fighting for Champions League and is a direct rival for Chel$ea to win Premier League. I like specially United but i like City,Liverpool and Chelsea. I have to say, i hate Arsenal, cause i hate Wenger
Yes, they have lots of money from the mafia, and a brilliant squad of players. They will continue to get better and better.
