Much ado about nothing, kind of like the his career. One of his ex-coaches hit the nail on the head, Wang would make a good keeper for a bad team, but not for a strong team.
The 4 goals conceded by China so far once again suggests that our defenders are not quite up to the mark. However we have an oversupply of talented midfielders. I believe this applies also to the national team. Perhaps the coaches, that is including Gao, should consider trying out some of the more versatile midfield players in defensive positions.
Here is another post in Chinese to cause some irritation to some people. 到现在为止香港 U23 足球队的表现证明了获得东亚运金牌并非虚名,真系有料到。
Then it's probably a blessing in disguise. Kuwait is usually a tougher customer for Chinese teams than Oman.

You can get the rest of the videos from this guy here, http://www.youtube.com/user/telugukeywords Note: Just finished watching it. Looks like some parts, probably not very important parts, of the ceremony have been edited out.

Round of 16 Japan vs. India Turkmenistan vs. Thailand Iran vs. Malaysia Oman vs. Hong Kong ---------- North Korea vs. Vietnam UAE vs. Kuwait Qatar vs. Uzbekistan China vs. South Korea Not a great draw for China, but it could've been worse.
haha i agree with the not a great draw part but not the "it could've been worse" part. in this tournament, skor has more experienced players, especially they have monaco striker park chu young and kim jung-woo who are over 23 in their roster china might have home advantage, but i do not have much confidence over this breed of u-23. it would be an interesting match and probably a busy day for the moderators since there will be wave of ad hominum posters/trolls adding meaning to our job. regarding the "it could've been worse" part i can't really tell which team would be worst than skor maybe west asian team? cause china always has bad records against them. maybe hong kong? cause if china win, people gonna accuse us of bribing politically? if china is able to get through next round the tournament would definitely go more smooth
i didn't watch the malay game because i was dead tired thanks to seb for the info and thanks to shingkei who reminded me the game was actually ended when i woke up for the game here's the highlight of the game (and thanks to jonny for the red card video, the video linked to the following) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUM4P3cmZX0"]YouTube - Malaysia vs China [Asian Games 2010] 1st Goal[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0i5SQaccndc"]YouTube - Malaysia vs China [Asian Games 2010] 2nd Goal[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3qt8W5gPtk"]YouTube - Malaysia vs China [Asian Games 2010] 3rd Goal[/ame]

Could you guys inform me on how close this Chinese team is in comparison to the team that humbled us majorly in the EAFF earlier this year? Is it similar or not at all?
i would say not at all they are both different teams the team that played against the skor in the EAFF tournament is preparing for the latvia friendly (nov 17th) right now i also look at the roster: eaff 2010 china roster: http://www.eaff.com/c/competitions/eafc2010/results/20100210_M3_CHNvsKOR_E.pdf china u23 asian games roster: http://www.gz2010.cn/info/ENG_ENG/FB/FBE133A_FBM400400@@@@@@@@ENG_number=5001720.html they are both different teams (unless there was one or two players that my eyes did not caught) i would comment this u23 team is quite different, heck, maybe weaker than the national team by few levels.
Thanks for the answer. I was worried that it would be close to your EAFF team which I felt was very organized and skilled, but by no means I'm gonna underestimate this team either and I hope the Korean team won't either. Anyways, best of luck Monday.
Well, a win is a win. That said, what a weakass win this is. China only won because it's never good for business for the host nation to die in the group stage. But in the end even good business practice may prove to be insufficient to allow this team to go much further.
in a marketing perspective it would be difficult for chinese football to regain its credibility unless miracles happen we reenter world cup again we achieve top 3 in asian cup (best if we win) and even achieve top 3 in asian games i would see more and more of those sarcastic remarks in the discussion how many '中國加油!!' have i seen in that link loll?
I think you worry too much. If I were you I will be very relaxed. We certainly need lots of luck and perhaps a miracle.
