I'm afraid Ki has talented, conceited and lazy Korean player underachiever syndrome a la Ko Jongsoo, Ahn, Lee Chunsoo, Lee Dongguk. The rub however is that he's only 21 cutting his teeth in the SPL.

He's seemingly turned things around. Shockingly the last few games he's been best player on pitch for Celtic.

FIFA>PES for few years now. I think SamuraiBlue is right. Looks like the guy made the list from researching on FM.

Ki is playing in a position where Japan is full of great players so I'm less impressed by him than by these Korean attacking midfielders, full of skills and confidence.

Yes. But PES is nice this year. I'm still playing FIFA though.

edit : I forgot, recently I've been impressed by some of the midfielders of your U21 team, they were playing with a lot of maturity.

We've tended to use our strength in wing to stretch out play whereas Japan brings ball up middle through Hasebe which Japan did in our last friendly. In the future PJS's probably going to be used centrally to reak havok behind PCY but our achilles heel right now is lack of libero under Cho's system. Tactically we're bit of a mess right now trying to revamp with new manager's style.

Guys, please let's stay on topic. If you want to talk about videogames, open a thread for it, or revive one of the old ones.

We already talk about a dozen players and many leagues in one single thread...

And by the way, if we were to have individual threads for individual players, ho would you like to have one...?

Or should we have at least "Japanese in the Bundesliga," "Japanese in Serie A," etc... <-- I personally like this idea (4 threads: Germany, Italy, Russia, others...)

I ask since this has passed 50 pages, and it is time to open new one(s) thread(s).....

considering its only November and its past 500 then probably a good idea. Just "Japanese in Russia", "Japanese in Germany", "Japanese in Italy", "Other Japanese Abroad"

Speaking of other japanese abroad..... Hirofumi Moriyasu (former JFL) has been given a 2 year extension by Sydney FC given his recent performances for them. He's made a bit of an impression in Sydney. People like the story of how he was about to quit trying to become a pro, then in a last ditch effort succeeded in Australia.

He'll visit Japan next year in the ACL with Sydney.

    Hi,

My name is Paul, and I'm a Leicester City fan, based in Leeds in the UK.

Before I can set up a thread and introduce myself properly, I must participate in a few threads created by others. I am very interested in the thoughts of Japanese fans on Yuki Abe's journey to LCFC, and will want ask you some questions for my blog that I write.

    Cheers,

    Paul

If there's no objections to the creation of new threads then I guess I'll start.

    Hi SamuraiBlue2002,

I'm new to this forum so it's all a little confusing for me...where to post...where not to post etc.

So if I make a mistake, apologies upfront. lol

Hi Paul, glad you made it.
Keep in mind that expert Abe-ologists might be found in the Urawa Reds thread as well.

And we would REALLY love to hear news from Leicester, in particular if Yuki has played, and how.
