Has anybody here gotten a college degree entirely online? I'm considering a Masters degree online from a college/university based in the United States in Political Science or something related but I am not interested in being a lawyer, police officer, or anybody who works directly with criminals and/or suspects. I don't have a clear idea of what I want as a career. I have a BA in Economics obtained in 2007 with a Minor in Political Science and a 3.41 GPA. I would appreciate any advice.

Edit: I could take the GRE if I had to but I would prefer not to.

Online degrees have become so prevalent that I've had several friends who have been asked in job interviews if their credentials came from an actual brick and mortar institution.

From what I'm told by people who have online degrees. Most degrees are useless unless you have experience in the profession you're receiving that degree in. For example, if you have a job at a business and you need to get your masters degree for a promotion you are every way qualified for, except having that piece of paper, then getting an online degree from the University of Phoenix is worth it. But if you're trying to get a law degree and you have no experience practicing law, it's another story.

This is fairly accurate. If you need (re)training or more advanced skills, an online degree won't hurt you. But if you're looking for that initial, primary sign that you have the proper certification, cybercolleges won't help that much.

Do it through an Australian or English University where online education is highly regarded. Even at Harvard Level ANU in Canberra there are a limited amount of Grad Programs online.

Conisdering the Average Aus salary is 70kUSD and many young professionals earn 100-150kUSD+ Universities need to compete to obtain students as no one in there right mind is going to give up thsi salry just to go back to school. Also you will be entering a college system which is 50 years ahead of its American counterparts who are still living in 1950s Middle class America and not our knowledge based society.

Your notions about our college system is fairly inaccurate. As a knowledge-based society, we're miles ahead of Australia.

I'm now considering a 14 week online paralegal certificate that costs only $1,189 plus books. The certificate curriculum is described at http://www.legalstudies.com/syllabi/paralegal_onlineworkbook.html. I don't think I want to spend the time and money on a Master's degree. I work part time and I have never simultaneously been a student and had a job. I'm willing to try the certificate but I'm not willing to commit to two more years of study for another degree. The certificate I'm looking into is shorter and cheaper than other paralegal certificates but I'm hoping that with it and five undergraduate Political Science classes about American government and/or law I will be qualified to be a paralegal if I get the certificate.

    Idiot,

Your Unis are shit and everyone knows it. Many US degrees even from top instituations aren't recgonised in Australia hahahahh. Bad luck considering Melbourne and Sydney grads run Corporate America hahahaha

America and Canadas Education system is based on a time when only a few people needed to go to school while the rest of the country works in industrial scenarios building cars etc etc hahaha how have times changed.'There is a reason all the best talent comes to Australia, All the Asian Royal familes come to Australia while American institutions will continue only to get Mumbai retards.

I don't know what you do for a living but I'm sure a guy who stacks supermarket shelves in Australia earns more than you. or he could can go earn 80kUSD as a Construction Laboruer. Univeristies they got to compete for the students brah.

I'm sure you're trolling, but I was curious, so I looked this up. Most Asian royalty are educated either domestically or in the UK, but the ones educated in the US are:

Masako, Crown Princess of Japan - Harvard
Bhuimbol, King of Thailand - Harvard
Ubolratana, Princess of Thailand - MIT
Bajrakitiyabha, Princess of Thailand - Cornell
Ploypailin, Princess of Thailand - UC San Diego
Khun Mai, Princess of Thailand - NYU
Jigme, King of Bhutan - Wheaton College

... in addition to five members of the Bahraini royal family who went to the University of Chicago.

By contrast, I could only find one Australian-educated Asian royal.

What a dumb tool. Everybody knows the US has the majority of the top universities in the world. I don't know what they teach you over there. Australia recognizes just about any US degree. Who tells you that Melbourne and Sydney grads run corporate America? Probably the same people who deluded you into thinking that our universities are still in the 1950s.

The reason why your labor wages are better than our is because of your protectionist/ socialist system. Your wages and jobs will not stay safe for long with globalization. Eventually the Aussies will lose a majority of their jobs to the Indians and East Asians just like everybody. There's no way a CEO in Australia is going to pay an Aussie 100K when they can pay an Indian 20K for the same service and stay competitive in the global market.

A couple Thais???? hahahah bollocks!!! Times that by about 50 and you'll get are intake here. Hell your even likely to do assessments with them here at an Australian Uni.

Face it I'm not trollign your unis are shit. I have US passport but will never work there considering someone in this country who stacks shelves will earn more than an engineer. All the smart yanks are here.

Your education system is a joke and everyone knows it.

Stop writing like some middle school student on Facebook before you talk about your education system being superior. Everything you wrote on this thread has been pure uninformed stupidity. Maybe you can grow up one day and come to America and find out what competing is.

Does anybody know why most online college programs require you to provide contact information in order to get information about the programs offered? One thing I like about the certificate offered by the Center For Legal Studies that I'm considering is that course syllabi are available online without requiring contact information.

Aren't you able to do your online program through a local community college?

The Center For Legal Studies's paralegal certificate can come from a choice of schools of which nine are in the New York City area. I plan on doing it through Stony Brook University. I don't want to use a community college for anything because I already have a Bachelor's degree.

Telepathy works but where is scientific evidence?

    1. Vinko Rajic is talking about in his videos on YouTube that he can use telepathy all the time and 100% correct on few kilometer.
Uri Geller could give evidence for telepathy at Stanford University.

    2. At Edinburgh University, experts conducted controlled experiments to see if telepathy is possible.
The Edinburgh University Koestler Lab could never confirm if telepathy works but they never did any experiment on Vinko Rajic
or Uri Geller, maybe they do not want to find that what are they looking for.

    3. James Randi offer 1000000$ for any paranormal evidence, but Vinko and Uri can use telepathy or maybe NOT?

    4. CIA's "remote viewing" , "Stargate Project", the ability to psychically "see" events, sites,
or information from a great distance.
Actually there is not evidence that this would be possible. Telepathic people like Vinko Rajic never know who is
sending to them. Human brains have not any number and is maybe impossible to know from which head you are receiving and to
which head you are sending. Theoretical this is impossible to localize someone on very long distance and connect it.

    5. Grigori Rasputin , "the Mad Monk". There is evidence that he could use paranormal mind control.
Rasputin's influence over the royal family was used against him and the Romanovs by politicians and journalists who
wanted to weaken the integrity of the dynasty, force the Tsar to give up his absolute political power and separate the
Russian Orthodox Church from the state.
On November 19, 1916, Purishkevich made a rousing speech in the Duma, in which he stated,
"The tsar's ministers who have been turned into marionettes, marionettes whose threads have been taken firmly in hand by Rasputin
and the Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna , the evil genius of Russia and the tsaritsa .

    6. What is Schizophrenia? Schneider's symptoms of the first rank:

    - Audible thoughts
    - Voices heard arguing
    - Voices heard commenting on one’s actions
    - The experience of influences playing on the body
    - Thought withdrawal and other interference with thought
    - Diffusion of thought
    - Delusional perception
    - Feelings, impulses and volitional acts experienced as the work or influence of others

Using telepathy you can create most of "Schneider's symptoms of the first rank" on Vinko Rajic.

Why they do not do research on Vinko Rajic or on some other telepath and publish that?
    Also telepathy is possible???????????

Not really true at all. It just depends on where you get your degree from. I got my Masters online and had absolutely no problem getting a job.

You want to check out the reputation of your school before enrolling. Make sure it is accredited and not a diploma mill.

In this job market experience counts as far more though. People with Masters aren't all that hard to come by. The experience is much more difficult.

Where is scientific evidence for paranormal? There is evidence for telepathy
( Vinko Rajic telepathy-vinko-rajic.blogspot.com and maybe Uri Geller )
and few other really strong cases . Some Universities ( University of California , University of Southampton , Edinburgh University
and some others) make research on but they do not make research on
really people that can use telepathy, strange , why?
