http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/houston-trialing-former-cuban-u-23-intl-midfielder With all the doom and gloom around these parts lately-I complete missed this.
Re: New Cat in Town I was at the game in Tampa when he defected. While they warmed up we yelled at the players saying when will u defect? lol
Re: New Cat in Town Ortiz has over-30 rec league games all week. Dynamo coverage will have to wait until Friday. BTW, I think this is absolutely the right thing to do, bring in guys if you think they have promise. We need to be doing more of this, recognizing you aren't likely to get superstars from trialists from the USL, but I'd take a few decent guys relatively cheap.
He's good and would be a good fit. Great guy too! Dom was at a couple of Aztex games watching the guys. Last time was their play off game.

Good find and news. Lately they've been doing some good moves such as playing younger players and get good results (as expected but...). I guess some players are fighting for their jobs.
Anyone from Cuba would probably think our summers are bearable. And anyone who had played with the Aztex would think our field is an improvement. Sounds like a good fit.
http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/dynamo-notes-houston-starters-return-d Looks like he may be part of a November call back (along with some others)
I'm pretty sure we'll see him in orange next season Added plus is that he's not only a very talented player, but he is a very cool guy. He was excited about the chance to come train with the Dynamo too.
That's good news. And on a related note, what do you know about the Aztex moving? I hope not, especially for yall's sake. Plus, I really like having a team in Austin. And I like making the trip there every spring. (I know, this should go in the other thread, but, hey, Bilzy is over here )
I'm in a situation where I can't really talk about this, but how's this We've worked with the team since the PDL days, but we've never missed a Dynamo game for an Aztex one. Got to say we love the team though. Like with the Dynamo, they've stepped up big to be there for our son. Obviously the very wrong place to post this , but I'm here so...My son is facing a huge battle in his future. A mass ( found to be non-cancerous) was discovered over his right lung. This was in late July. He'll be entering Shriners in Houston in a few weeks for a very intensive surgery. The end results will have him living the rest of his life with 4 titanium plates in his chest... but he'll make it. He's a fighter!
