Did you see the match? He is never mentioned in match reports, and soccernet still lists him as "Yuki Abi"... I mean, how is he doing when he comes in?
I was going to see the match but when he didn't start I did not. I washed my clothes instead. Hehe. It's really frustrating considering how fantastic he was at the WC.
I don't think that Uchida is a bad player. He is definitely one of Japan's better players. I just don't think that he has the right mentality for Europe. He just doesn't seem to be the kind of ambitious and hardworking type like Kagawa which is why I don't believe he will succeed in Europe.
If Leicester are so good that they don't need Abi, I hope he finds a better place in January, ditto for Morimoto.
Not to mention specifically how dominant he was against the England NT.......now bench for their f**king 2nd div.
Daigo Nishi is a Consadole boy, not an Albirex! He's born and raised in Hokkaido, and is as far as I know only on loan to Albirex this season ( like Danilson to Nagoya). I doubt any of them wants to go back to Consa though But yeah, I think Nishi is a good player. He had some very nice games for Consadole last season, although he was not what I would call a stand-out player. But he's young, and has alot of potential, and have showed this season that he has what it takes to succeed at a high J1-level too, so maybe one day in the future he can become a NT-player too.
It surely is plenty evidence we need to re-conclude that british teams are bad for Japanese players. Even when these players are the best on their squad. Bundesliga appears to be the most japan friendly league.
I was of course talking of the club he plays for NOW. Even because, as you sorta pointed out, in Japan players can basically choose where they want to stay once they're on loan. So, yes, of course he was at Consadole, but I won't expect anybody to talk about players and mantioning their previous club over their previous...
I'm a big fan of English soccer, but I agree. It seem to be a bad idea I'm afraid. Bundesliga is the league yes. And not only for that it is damn entertaining.
It doesn't look bright, true, and it's bad that the coach who brought him there has been sacked already... but it's more to do with the club itself than Japanese players fitting to the league, or not? I mean what kind of 2nd division club/board sacks a coach after 3 months and appoints Erikson? As for his potential, I find Morimoto's situation much more dissapointing, he has been promised a regular spot in a 2-FW-system before the season and now finds himself not even a fringe player... Bundesliga has been mixed for Japanese players this weekend: Hasebe conceding a hand PK, Uchida playing bad, Yano missing a sitter, Soma replaced after HT. But Kagawa again shone out, voted into the matchday-eleven (for the 4th time).
Sven Göran Eriksson has said that he thinks Abe is a great player so there is still hope. However i think the physical style of play in the championship is working against Abe and thats why he isnt given much time on the pitch. I have a feeling he would stand a better chance of playing in the premiership. His 20 minutes against Hull wasn't too bad but he failed to make an impact. As for Morimoto, its time to find a new club where he's in the starting eleven. There's no point in staying in Catania.
The same here and the clubs' supporters are thinking the same: They think he could have converted the missed chance when he is used longer. It could well be that if he is fit that we can see him start this weekend. He started away to Wolfsburg 2 weeks ago btw.
Didn't understand why his coach subbed him out, he was playing well and created real chances. As for Abe ... that's his fault. Nobody forced him to go to Leicester damn City.
Yano was injured slightly and the doctor said no to the 2nd half. But after being a doubt for the next match he got subbed in again against Cologne. And my bad, it was 3 weeks ago he started.
Both Chievo and Brescia are looking at Morimoto http://sports.yahoo.co.jp/news/20101019-00000025-sanspo-socc.html If he's guaranteed playing time, then there's nothing to think about. Just goooooooo
And NEVER comeback !! I can't believe he is struggling to even make appearances as a sub in such a limited squad.
Catania is not a crap squad. They are pretty solid in a very tough league. And Morimoto has never been the same since his injury, he lacks explosiveness and confidence now.
Kensuke Nagai turned down Wolfsburg's offer and intends to play in the J-League next season. http://sportsnavi.yahoo.co.jp/soccer/jleague/headlines/20101019-00000049-kyodo_sp-spo.html Smart guy. But who is he going to sign for?
He is a pretty big prospect in Japan. He was part of the "support squad" in Japan's WC squad. He's a "development player" who played for Avispa Fukuoka and recently Vissel Kobe this season. He hasn't scored a goal as of yet. He's been training with several J-League clubs, but has yet to sign a deal. Personally I don't think that he's good enough to play as a striker. I think that he should be converted into a winger because of his speed.
