Mike Noonan's a good coach. He'll turn this mess around.

But make no mistake, he inherited a mess. Trevor's last season wasn't the greatest and 2009 was a fiasco. There just wasn't a lot to work with when Noonan arrived.

Here's how the conference standings look if you don't count the games that involve the ACC's three weaklings. If UNC manages a tie or better in Virginia on Friday, it'll be in very strong position to win the regular season title.

    Not the conference's finest hour...

    Virginia 2, Longwood 0
    Virginia Tech 1, American 0
South Carolina 1, Wake Forest 0
Old Dominion 2, North Carolina 1
NC State 2, Appalachian State 1
    Charlotte 2, Clemson 1 OT
    Duke 1, Elon 1
    Connecticut 2, Boston College 0

When the conference goes 3-4-1 in one evening, it just might be a down year for it.

Wake may very well be weakling #4.

Ps ACC went 1-3 tonight. Not good. UVA beat longwood.

Never surprised when a Elmar team gets outcoached. He's only won one ACC title and one title with a butt load of talent in 20+ years here. Always has a WTF loss or two every year.

    It was actually 3-4-1.

UVa, Tech and State won. Duke tied. BC, UNC and Wake lost.

I don't think there were any soccer players on the list, but the Duke team must be wishing that the "**** List" story didn't come out the day before a televised away game against Maryland. Unless the students have become a lot nicer since my time there, I imagine that it will be an even more uncomfortable environment now with such fresh ammunition to use.

The list has been viral for a while and I suspect everyone within the Duke athletic community has known about it before this week.

It only went mainstream this week as Gawker (deadspin, jezebel) got a hold of it.

I don't doubt that most people at Duke already knew about it. I'm just thinking that life might have been a little easier tonight for them if a few thousand drunk Maryland fans didn't know about it too.

Duke should be up 1-0, Finley missed a wide open net from inside the 6.

Clemson 1, Saint Louis 0 – Clemson’s 5th goal of the year gets them their second win under Mike Noonan.

North Carolina 1, Virginia 0 – UVa only managed two shots on goal.

Wake Forest 2, Virginia Tech 0 – Wake scored 48 seconds into the game and then took care of business from there.

Boston College 4, NC State 3 – wild one that turned in a 22 second span when the Eagles went from down 2-1 to up 3-2.

UNC won at UVA? That never happens.

They also hardly ever beat maryland.. STARS ARE ALIGNED maybe.

I think benching King was the right move. Now if they can find someone to dealiver goals. Man they miss Billy and Cameron scoring ability. I'll trade a out of conference loss for a ACC win...allday long

    Maryland 1-1-1
    Boston College 0-1-1
    Virginia 0-2-1

Updating the six-team standings, again ignoring the bottom three. Unless Wake gets hot, UNC should have this in the bag.

I don't like how were coming out for these tuesday games. Team is treating them as a scrimage of some sort. Wofford and ODU games were the same way. They dominated the whole game but needed a late goal to tie it up at half. 2nd half they must of got a hella wake up speech by scoring 4 goals. Pretty weak crowd. Not surprising on a tuesday night. I'm sure they will bring it friday night vs wake. They have no problem getting up for the ACC teams so far.
