Back in 2003 I put a bid on autographed jerseys for two players in the DC United Silent Auction at the last regular season home game

Bobby Convey and Ronald Cerritos - Neither of them finished the next season with DC United

Then a few years ago, I did the same for Marcelo Gallardo - ditto

And last Saturday, in a moment of weakness, I did it again for Marc Burch -

The way things are going with United, you shouldn't be apologizing; he should be thanking you.

How many more signed jerseys do you have? We could do a real house cleaning. :D

Foot surgery. Technically, he's still with United, just not playing the rest of the season.

That's the weirdest spelling of "hamstring injury" or "sports hernia" that I've even seen.

Must be from those German docs that United uses.

yeah - I was thinking who do I really NOT want around next season, but didn't have the heart to go through with that - Then I saw Burch's jersey (with no bids) and I felt sorry for him, and figured "Well - Probably not anyways"

Can we join together to fund your next purchase of a Kevin Payne jersey?

If this works out like the plane over RFK, I am all for it. I contributed then, and I will contribute now.

That's precisely how I ended up w/ a Bobby Convey jersey at some DCU function a few years ago.

When they told me I'd won it, I remember think "Now WTF do I do with this?"

I also bid on, and won, a pair of signed Talley boots.

Try to put it on, but find you've accidentally missed the arm-hole wide?

Well, it's an authentic gameworn jersey, so I could maybe get my arm into the neck opening.

There's a lot of potential for snarky suggestions on this one, but I'm not going to be able to top this.

So, how's Pena feeling these days? Goff says both James and Jakovic are going to miss the October 9 game against San Jose for int'l duty. That leaves a backline of McTavish, Rice, Zayner and Graye? They're all fit, right?

Depends - does "fit" include not seeing double from being concussed?

I thought I remembered Rice being out, but I don't know what the timetable is. Besides, if he's seeing double, he should put in a good challenge 50% of the time, right?

Okay then, since Simms has typically been the emergency back-up defender of choice. . . Are we going to shanghai one of the ball kids into defense? Talon? Am I overlooking someone?
