I've always kind of liked Newcastle United. Being from Philly I can relate to a group of fans desperate for a championship. The team isn't afraid to spend money, and I like that about them. I just hope eventually something will pan out and this season appears to be pretty promising.

    Hi there,
I'm from St Louis USA and a new fan to NUFC. Been a soccer fan for years, mostly SPL but decided to finally throw my scarf in with an EPL team. NUFC seems to have absolutely mad supporters and that by in large is what won my support. Hoping to find more in my area, or convert some.

    Old thread is old.

Sad to see so many names that posted here during the glory days are now gone and forgotten

Much like Timothy a couple of weeks ago, I'm a Newcastle fan living in St Louis. I've been lurking around here for quite a while, but never posted before.

Actually went to a game a St James Park a few years ago (during the ill-fated Allardyce era). Martins crossed to Owen for the only goal. Seems like a long time ago, doesn't it?

3 years of lurking before you first post? Sounds like we have a big voyeurism problem around here.

Welcome to the land of the posting.

    Greetings,
Been a Toon supporter for a few years. Started following back when i had my big dish (90's) & Shearer was new to Tyneside. Couldn't have picked a better time to follow the lad's as things have been shyte recently as you all know.
I've felt that getting relegated for last season & kicking ass in the C-ship has galvanized the group as a team much better than if they had clung on & avoided the drop. It had to be humbling but moreso motivational for those who stuck around & wanted to succeed. Hughton is the right man imo, & has the determination & fire which came out after the Stoke match. This season will be a test for sure, & barring the Villa lambasting, it's been one thus far.
Looking forward to Toon chat with y'all.
    HWTL!
