AaronD just beat me to it, but at the worst Ochocinco would be Dane Richards version two. Ochocinco had to make the choice between football and soccer in high school, didn't he? That doesn't necessarily guarantee skill, but the combination of athletic prowess and PR he would bring to the team make it worth bringing him in at the very least. I question whether he'd be any good on the field, but I think there is far more to gain than there is to lose by bringing him in.

We posted on our facebook and twitter asking if people had anything they'd like brought up if that what you're asking. This was more of a board meeting not a forum, we (supporters group leaders) have them with the front office a few times a year to share ideas and information.

If Robbie Findley, who can't hit the broad side of a barn with a soccer ball (Honestly, how is he so bad?), can start in MLS and in the FIFA WC - then Chad Ochocinco can make the Crew as the 23rd (or whatever it is next season) player.

And, for what it's worth, I think NFL teams would rather see a player staying at peak athletic fitness in the offseason (or non-season) than shooting up strip clubs, doing drugs, or committing sexual assualts and/or domestic abuse.

Hell, cut this douche from Cleveland St. and sign up Chad Right now. If we are going to be that lenient with what we expect from our 24th player on the team then give it to someone who at least has some PR value. He might not ever be here physically BUT, he will still give more of a positive impact then this guy ever will and they both probably have the same skill level.

Nothing specific about chad trying out for the team, other then they are always trying to get local/ohio celebrities to games. Did turn into an interesting conversation on which leagues could be locked out in the next year or so.

Talk about a cliff hanger. Besides NBA, NFL what else? MLB and NHL seem pretty solid right now.

NHL, no way. They're never very solid to begin with. Throw in all of this new "circumventing the CBA" in the recent news, Kovalchuk, internal strife in the NHLPA.

Wow. Hopefully you thought of all the good, hardworking people such as bartenders, arena employees, servers, and everyone else who's jobs would be in limbo when you wrote that comment.

I did, I thought man wed get a lot more people to keep them busy when the Cavs leave Cleveland and come down here. Or the Pacers, or maybe the Hornets, or possibly the Grizzlies, hell the T Wolves.

In all honesty, yeah it would suck for the city and the workers down there but what happens if the BJs fold anyways due to hemmoraging money on an hourly basis.

Yes the sport on ice definately isn't the "real winter sport". I really like both sports, but your statement is ridiculous. What makes basketball so much more real then hockey? These guys go out and play with 100% heart no matter how crappy their team is. Watch the playoffs you will never see a star quit on their team like Lebron did last year.

I always thought NHL and MLS fans would kinda have a bond. We deal a lot with outside leagues, rules and fans. Both are not mainstream sports but have die hard following. Players tend to not be as &*%%^ as football, baseball, or basketball players.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! You are joking right? I much rather watch guys hitting each other and playing a sport that flows similar to my favorite sport rather then a game that is interrupted by a foul being called any time someone so much as blows on the opponent.

Hahahahaha basketball the real winter sport, that was a good one! repped accordingly!!

    2009 Average Attendance 17,520
    2009 Average Attendance 17,460

Then again, you have a point - maybe you need some hits on your website? www.nbacolumbus.com

We all know Soccer the most popular sport in the world...Whats #2? Oh thats right, its basketball.
    Shut it.

Hockey flow??? Most people I know go to the games and like it "because they fight". Yeah, true fans. You hockey lovers can go back to Canada and.......damn Im drawing a blank...something with TFC Fans.

    You really are an asshole.

I go to a shit-ton of hockey games, and I've never ONCE heard someone say they were there for the fighting. That argument is so 1975. Which is apparently the last time you watched a game, or else you'd realize how little fighting there is in the game today.

For what it is worth in one of college classes a student presented this exact argument, hockey fighting vs just hockey. Afterwards we polled the students and almost all said one of the major reasons they like hockey is the fighting ( i realize its not a scientific study but just saying)

Ah the old pot calling the kettle black eh?
To be honest I like Olympic hockey, where there is no fighting. 2nd I was a huge fan of the Colorado Avalanche team of the early 2000s with Roy, Forsberg, Sakic, Drury, Foote (asshole to what he did to the CBJ), Miller, and of course Ray Borque.

I just think Basketball is a much more entertaing and beautiful game. That doesn't make me an asshole. Its everything else about me.
In closing go f;ck yourself KC. ;)

To further this point I teach high school and my students love the CBJ and they know I love the Crew. When I ask them why they live the CBJ so much, because they fight and the Crew don't so hockey is better than ********** soccer. I simply roll my eyes and think to myself "douchebags".

Wow, such a powerful statement. And the people of Columbus are those of the world? If that was the case then the #1 sport in the world would be OSU Football - so what the hell are you trying to prove?

Other than what we all already knew of course, that you're an absolute idiot who has way too much time on their hands - and has unfortunately littered these boards for way too many months with your mindless thoughts.

Ah yes, and you simply enlighten us with every stroke of the keyboard.

Now I know Ive said somethings in the past that have gone over like a turd in a punch bowl and Im ok with that....but, I want to understand why Im under the gun right now, Im getting this hatred because Id prefer to have the NBA here instead of the NHL? Is that correct? Because I prefer Basketball over hockey.

    Seriously, Im asking.
