Finally sucked it up and called the +41 445832010 number about my missing refund. As others have mentioned, the Ticketing Center said for an unknown reason, select refunds are not going through, and FIFA is waiting for the customer to call in before they will process the manual refund.

Therefore, for those continuing to wait for the refund to come through, it likely won't until you call them.

They said it would take about a week to hit my account, and they let me credit back to a different credit card at my request.

That's ridiculous. I am not calling MAJOR long distance to deal with something when they should EMAIL me to inform me if there is a problem issuing my refund. Especially since I've emailed them TWICE regarding this issue.

Agreed, such a scam. I bet they bring in over a million $ in revenue from people who fail to call in and force the "manual" refund.

So FIFA FINALLY got back to me (without me having to call international LD)... here's their communique:

    ----
    Dear Shaun,

    Thank you for your email.

We confirm that we did attempt to process your refund for re-sold tickets but this was rejected. This may be because your card has since expired or is no longer valid.

So that we can process your refund as soon as possible, please provide us with your new card and expiry date.

    Kind Regards
    2010 FWCTC
    ----

So my suggestion to anyone still waiting on their refund, shoot FIFA Enquiries an email or two or three until they get around to contacting you back.

I got the exact same email a week ago (in total I think it took them 13 days to reply to my initial email),
but I still have not seen the refund yet.
This is my only way of communicating with them as I somehow can't reach their switzerland # at all.

Just called as well, nothing had happened with my bank transfer for a month. She took my credit card details and said it would be processed today or tomorrow, I should have the money within a week. Total call time: 3 mins 5 secs

I just called this number +41 445832010; went to the voicemail since its past office hrs somewhere in europe/africa. I dropped a voicemail stating my refund issues. The automatic voice msg seemed like a lady speaking with a south african accent.

I have a question. I had a TST-5 and during the WC, I printed the group games and then for the knockout rounds, since I wasn't able to attend, I had them resold. When I was at the FIFA Ticketing Center in Joburg Sandton, they had me fill in a piece of paper telling them that I am reselling the R16 and the QF, however as of now, I still have not get the refund. I didn't have the copy of this paper, unfortunately... :(

On my online application screenshot, it says that my TST-5 tickets was printed, which is partially true due to my circumstances.

Does anyone have a similar situation as me? If so, have you gotten any refund on partial TST-5 resale?

    Thanks.

This is strange. You can't sell part of the TST.
Either you sell all 5 tickets of a TST-5 or you sell nothing.
You can't ask to sell the R16 & QF after using the first round tickets.

I got the following e-mail from FIFA on September 15th in response to my August 24th e-mail to them. I've already received all my refunds by the way which underscores how disjointed the refund process is.

    Dear Jimbo,

    Thank you for your email.

We confirm that we did attempt to process your refund for re-sold tickets but this was rejected. This may be because your card has since expired or is no longer valid.

So that we can process your refund as soon as possible, please provide us with your new card number and expiry date.

yeah, i was thinking that maybe i was selling an individual tickets now because once you have it printed, you agree that you purchased them. then if you don't want it, then you can resell it back to FIFA as an individual tickets. if you were in FIFA Ticketing Center, you can see that some people are doing it this way as well. I saw like a couple holding multiple tickets (10+) and filling some papers.

the thing is i don't see the status of these tickets online... m i screwed?

I think I smell a class action lawsuit. I have a screenshot CLEARLY states that my tickets were sold. and it was a sold out game.

Upon receiving email this morning, an official said that my tickets were NOT sold and would NOT refund my money. WTF!!!

Does anyone know if there is any class action lawsuit going on?

I sent the following to gary.scott@match-ticketing.com and the general email address. I put 'delivery notification' on so I know that Gary (whoever he may be) read it

I'll keep everyone posted with progress:-

"I refer to the below email.

It is now over 2 months since the World Cup Final. We were advised that ticket refunds would be made 4 weeks after the final.

The below email - and others before it have not elicited the courtesy of a response, much less my actual refund.

If I do not receive my refund by Cob this Friday i will take the matter up with FIFA HQ in Switzerland.

I have to say that the overall response to the issue of ticket refunds has been nothing short of disgraceful. The Football blogs are full of complaints from extremely dissatisfied customers."

Subject: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ - Failed Re-Sale Refund

    Dear John Milce

We write further to our communication informing of the status of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ Tickets you submitted for resale via the Transfer Platform on www.FIFA.com.

As advised, the resale proceeds will be provided to you by way of a credit to your payment card. We can confirm that we have attempted to process the credit to your card, however, this has failed. This maybe because the card has expired, or you are no longer in possession of your card.

We therefore kindly ask that you contact us to provide alternative payment card details – either via the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Ticketing Centre on +41 44 583 2010, or via email address – enquiries @2010FWCTC.com.

A soon as we are receipt of this information, we will be in a position to progress with your refund.

If you have already provided us with new card details or have received your refund then please ignore this email.

If you have any queries regarding this communication, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Yours sincerely

2010 FIFA World Cup™ Ticketing Centre

    my reply-

What the hell is going on with you guys !

I have provided you with my credit card details 3 times.

For the last time here they are:-

    Mastercard
    5163 etc etc
    name: John Milce
    Exp: 07/12

If this money is not refunded by CoB on Friday there will be serious consequences

This prevarication is absolutely disgusting and could now be considered as theft, given the interest lost by me and gained by FIFA.

After 9 emails and a threat to take the issue up with FIFA Head Office I finally got my refund to-day.

So for those of you still waiting for refunds I suggest that you just keep hammering them until you get your money back.

    Cheers

I'm glad to have found some other people in a similar situation to me.

I had 2 tickets for the world cup. A group game and USA vs. Ghana (last 16). Due to a few changes in circumstance I wasn't able to attend so I put them up for grabs via the ticket resell option.

During the world cup I checked on multiple occasions to see if my tickets had been resold and happily they both showed as "Ticket Sold". Happy days.

That was until I received an email stating that only 1 ticket had been sold. FIFA are claiming that my category 1 ticket for the biggest game in African football history had strangely unsold its self.

Has anyone got any advice as to how I can pursue this further please? I am absolutely fuming with the whole scenario.

Do I have grounds to claim a chargeback from my credit card? FIFA are clearly in breach of their own terms and conditions as I didn’t receive my refund within the stated time.

Most contributors to this thread will not be surprised to hear that I had similar problems after the 2006WC. On that occassion I successfully got my bank to treat the transaction as unauthorised and I got the money credited back to my account, so it's certainly worth a try.

    Good luck

    I finally got my money!

Now, when I did, here's my complete story.

    I applied and won 4 Cat1 TST7 tickets.
When the resales began I put 2 TSTs for sale.
After a few weeks they appeared as sold.
Then, about a week or so later, all 4 appeared as sold!
I called back and I was told that you either sell all 4 or none. I had to explain it to the representatives, and it took a while, but after a few days I was told that I was right and I have 2 TSTs and that 2 were sold, as the website showed.

When I came to South Africa, before the beginning of the knock out phase, all 4 tickets were printed !!!
I got 4 tickets for each of the R16, QF, SF and Final games.
I had no idea if I will be charged for all 4 or if it was a 'gift' by MATCH, but since I had a shitty path to the finals, only the finals and maybe the SF had a chance to be sold, so I decided I'm going to let FIFA know that they made a mistake and not take a chance.

I sent them an email and got an automatic response, and never heard from them again. The tickets were NOT USED. Not by me and not by anyone.
The seats were EMPTY for these games.

When I got the email from MATCH, a month after the finals, they refunded me only 940 USD, the price of the 6 unused first round tickets less the 20 USD fee.

I send them an email and got no answer for more than a week.
Then, I called and told them my story. They of course said that I was supposed to go to the ticketing center in South Africa, and fix it there, but I claimed that it was their mistake and that I did my part by sending an email. Fortunately for me I had a screen shot and I could prove that the tickets were sold !!!

At the beginning of the month I was told I would get the money, but I didn't get. I waited 2 weeks or so, and I told them I didn't get it, but they said they sent it. As proof, they sent me the receipts. Once I looked at it I noticed the second refund, of 4000 USD, was refunded to a credit card that wasn't mine !

So, after a week they issued another refund which I got today.

I never saw anyone ********s up like this.

I went from having 4 tickets to 2 to none, back to 2 and then getting all 4!
I got a refund for 940 USD and had to wait a month and half to get the other 4000 USD, which they first sent to someone else !
And FIFA, had 2 empty seats worth 4000 USD go to waste, since MATCH printed them by accident and didn't sell them to someone else.

I know that this happened to others. I know that others had also extra tickets printed and they sold them.

I was lucky to have the screen shots, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the money, as happened to others.

My advice to everyone who didn't get the refund is to call them.
Don't wait for them to return to you by email. I have friends who have other problems, and no one has answered these emails. So just call them.

If you have screen shots, you should get it back, otherwise, as some of us know, you're in deep trouble...

    Good luck everyone !
