honestly Venezuela is not stronger than us, we keep loosing to the because of our crappy ass defence I would honestly say that our defense is as bad as Peru's and Bolivia's. The only difference between them and us is that we have been producing quality attacking players. For those of you who say they have more players playing outside their country that is not very true and some of them are second division players this is what ecuador has. Jairo Campos- Atl. Mineiro Antonio Valencia- Manchester United Edison Mendez- Atl Mineiro Christian Noboa- Rubin Kazan Joffre Guerron- Atl. Paranaense Jefferson Montero- Villarreal Juan Casares- River Plate Edson Montano- K.A.A. Gent Christian Benitez- Santos Laguna Felix Borja- FSV Mainz 05 Carlos Tenorio- Al Nasr. Augusto Batioja- FK Indija Felipe Caicedo- Levante Daniel Reinoso- Some shit team in second division in Belgium Michael Arroyo- San Luis Walter Ayovi- Monterrey Brian Alcantara- Miltown FC Ivan Carrera- RCD Mallorca (youth wonderkid) Irvin Chavez- RCD Mallorca (youth) Josimar Quintero- FC Barcelona (youth wonderkid, I know his still a kid but could become the next agustin delgado or even better and there is a countless other players playing in shitty teams like Reinoso and Alcantara who I do not even feel like including in the list. anyway I know some of this players are shit but why havent the 2 players from Mallorca gotten a Cap for the U20 team? there only 18 years old. I'll tell you why because every coah that we get sucks, they never give the right players their chances, for ex. to this day Jefferson Montero is still not a starter on the left after Spanish reporters claim he could be a future phenom like messi. ALso notice how we only have one good defender outside ecuador thats because our defenders suck all the talented players want to be MF or FW and that sucks.
if you've watched him play this season, he doesn't miss 5 trillion shots as im used to seeing. If that were so, I'd be here talking crap about him every game. It was actually a surprise for me to see him improve out of the blue. I don't think he's the answer, but if he can team up well with a good striker it's possible we may be seeing much better results than last qualifier (as far as scoring goes).
this isn't a competition about who has more players in foreign countries b/c at the end of the day that doesn't matter. what is significant is the contribution each player individually has in the NT and if they can all adapt to each other collectively in a limited time frame. who cares if theres two 18 year olds in Mallorca? Name me their merits or goals that makes them deserve to be in the NT besides the fact that they play in Mallorca. People like Montero and that kid Augusto Batioja (who hasn't been called up) are people who deserve to be a part of the NT b/c they've worked their way up or are currently having good performances that makes them worthy of recieving an opportunity. Just b/c Felipe Caicedo plays in Levante doesn't mean that he deserves an opportunity. He has to prove himself worthy in Levante to be noticed, and then receive a call up. Just b/c Fernando Guerrero played in Burnley last season, didn't mean he deserved a chance off the bat. I'd DEFINITELY give Guerrero an opportunity now based on how good he's been doing in Independiente...in other words, it doesn't matter where your playing (that's all secondary issues), what matters most is how well your doing. And another thing, saying montero is going to be a phenomenon like Messi is a bit too much..
Re: Ecuador player ratings against Venezuela CYPRESS HILL hahahahahaahah don't hate on the step overs
Ecuador has lost 4 of the last 5 friendlies against Venezuela and are tied 3 games a piece in the last 3 qualifiers.
When Venezuela qualifies for the World Cup, we'll come back to this argument. Or when a Venezuelan club does anything in the Libertadores, we can talk. For now, Ecuador is a better team and footballing nation. F%$#ck the paper. One of the factors you have to consider is that baseball remains the #1 sport in Venezuela. That will always limit their progress. In addition, it helps explain the fact that they have a few young, unknown players in Europe. Their domestic league is not financially competitive enough to keep their best players, so they can be transferred for peanuts. I doubt any of those players except for Arango were sold for anything near $1M, whereas we have quite a few players that have been bought for millions.
If Futbol is not the #1 sport in Venezuela than Ecuador should be dominating them?? but that's not the case is it?. There is no "I HAVE A DREAM" crap in futbol..The number speak for themselves.. Malaga just bought Salomon Rondon for 4.5 Million USD.. Not bad for a baseball nation.
valid points for both sides: argifutbol, no one in FMF, that we know of in 2010, couple of them move to MLS (one to chivas usa and renteria in Cbus)...can't think of the other transfer name. in colombia 3.... vizcarrondo- Juan M seijas y Cicero in argentina....Cicero's lil brother...more? in spain.....fernando un defensa del atl Bilbao. the thing is, are they getting decent amt of minutes on those teams? creo que solo Miku is a stand out.
first of your seem to be missing the whole point here as I clearly mention shitty players such as reinoso should never be caped so it doesn't matter if their playing ouside the country. Caicedo is far from being national team level. And well no its not because they play at mallorca its because one of them is actually considered a future star and has impressed in spain the other one at least is a starter on his u-20 division which is much better than being starter for an ecuadorian u-20 team, plus Im saying a cap to the u20 team so they could show what they got. Fernando Guerrero deserved a chance for a while now and I still haven't seen him play in the nt. Miller Bolanos has done as good as rojas this year maybe even better and still nothing.Armando Wila and Christian Suarez surely deserve at least one chance to prove themselves and what do we get players like Caicedo who waste their opportunities by the shitload.
Ok I agree Juan Arango is amazing as a forward for club and national team, but besides him,Nicolas Fedor, Tomas Rincon,Rosales and Vargas everyone on your list doesn't count. Rfael Romo isnt even a starter for Udinese, he's the third choice goalkeeper and he's been in Italy since July 2009, and I have yet to hear of an appearance from him. Dan Hernandez plays in the second division in Spain, good enough when you're still 19 or 18,hell even 20, but the guy's 24, c'mon he could probably be a hell of alot better playing on a first division Spanish team, if you ask me Venezuela and Ecuador are equal in players playing abroad and if not more we have a player playing in an elite team that wins competitions, unlike the Venezuelan players you've stated.
I would respond to this, but I'm busy watching Liga de Quito win another international championship...
it doesn't matter if they are or aren't a futbol nation they are still dont have a better squad "on paper" than Ecuador. And I dont get the reasoning behind listing all these European players. what does it matter if they have 20-30 more players than us in europe (idk how many more they have im just saying numbers here) when there is only 11 players that matter on game day (plus subs). The fact is right now in the present time Ecuador has more quality in there National Team squad and that is why they are "better on paper". Another factor behind a strong national squad is a strong local league and i believe right now Ecuador has a stronger local league.... the point is yes Ecuador has a "stronger team on paper".....
Winning more than jeffren suarez at Barcelona? And yes that kid has been playing minutes in barcelona even though he has an impossible task of Subbing those friggin incredible players. You have a player in an elite team winning Competitions? Like who?
Jeffren Suarez is Venezuelan born but he's not considered a Venezuelan national team player, he is more Spanish in my opinion than anything else since he's lived in Spain since his infancy. And Vaencia plays in Man United and that's a Championship and competition winning team, am I wrong? Besides Jeffren Suarez who isn't basically even considered Venezuelan what other player of theres plays in a first tier team? thats' right none.
So has Messi and countless of other footballers! Does that make messi less argentine? Fernando Guerrero basically grew up in Spain and went to the real madrid system. Does that make him less Ecuadorian? How about that Ecua kid in the barcelona youth system? What has Valencia won since he has been in Manchester United? the charity shield? lol.. The point is.. what happens on the field counts and nothing else.. Ecuador has lost 4 out of the last 5 friendlies against Venezuela and 3 of the last 4 Qualifying games.. saying you are a better Footballing nation or better on paper is quit a stretch especially when Futbol is #2 in venezuela.
Who asked you? Also, its just friendlies. We will get them back next time. We are still experimenting. And its funny how we can ALWAYS own Argies in club and national team games!
ya but the majority of the squad is Ecuadorian besides Carlos Luna, Norberto Aruajo, Hernan Barcos, and Salgiero whos Uruguayan. So, its basically an Ecuadorian based team that won, sorry
i still dont get how futbol being the second sport in venezuela = them having a stronger national squad. Its like saying that since im hispanic and the stereotype of being hispanic isnt being good at math. If i am compared with an asian that has the same math capabilities as me, somehow get the upper hand because you expect the asian to be good at math and the hispanic isnt... it just dont make sense at the end of the day those 2 individuals would have the same math capabilities..
Look at their squad. Most of them are 25 years old with 20 caps while the only ones with experience in our team were Valencia, Noboa, W Ayovi and in some case Montero. 4 guys can't win you a game.
