PJY playing on the left side of midfield

    Mbokani and Niculae are bad.
Just curious... I thought Niculae was supposed to be a good passer....?

I think the best pairing would be PCY and M'Bokani up front but PCY is playing fairly well on the left outside of his first cross which was blindingly horrible. It ends up being more like a 4-3-3 given his defensive liabilities and PCY's propensity to drift up into a striker role but against a tired looking Auxerre squad it seems to be working out alright.

Park spurns a brilliant opportunity to make it three-nil after some really good passing on the counter by Monaco (how often can you say that?). Should have hit it first time instead of taking a touch and the ball seemed to bobble away from him. Almost got a goal from his resulting shot-cum-deflection but was not to be.

I'm a bit confused. I don't see any mention of the Asian Games but lots of the Asian Cup. But PCY and co can only earn exemption at the Games no? So we're asking them to sacrifice their careers for meaningless friendlies against Iran so that they're ready for a meaningless tournament?

    It's not meaningless to everyone.

I think that winning the Asian Cup should/may be enough to earn them exemption. Who knows? Although there isn't a set exemption rule for the Asian Cup gold medal, they may put it in place if they win it.

Thanks for the clarification. Given the young age of our stars, it seems like they'd have a decent shot at winning the games using the exceptions on PCY and PJS. Then if things broke their way, they'd get exemptions before the January transfer window. Oh well... I clearly don't understand the machinations of the NT.

PJS got his exemption in '02.

And Asian Games = exemption but Asian Cup = Confed Cup, so both are worthy goals to aspire towards. It's just a matter of Cho being smart in his call-ups. I don't think it was necessary to call all the European-based players at such a point in the season, when he called up several of them not even a month ago.

    thanks.
it seems like Monaco is asking for more money than these clubs are willing to offer..... they also don't want to loan him out. His future at Monaco seems cloudy, if he stays he'll have to hurry and get back in to form because Lacombe is not willing to wait for him any longer.

Its getting pretty crowded with all these new acquisitions all playing spots that PCY could fill... esp now with Malonga on board @ LMF.

Well the European transfer window is pretty much closed now isn't it?

It's based on the 'receiving' club's time zone, so there is 1 hour left for PJY to move to an EPL team.

I'm just extremely confused with the direction Monaco is trying to go.
I felt at some point that Lacombe was putting PJY in the midfield, he was doing it to take some goal scoring pressure off of him while he finds his form. Now that the other strikers (although not necessarily in form) are scoring goals, I'm not sure whats going to happen to him. However, I get the feeling that Monaco really want to keep him.
What I would like to see is the combination of PJY and Mbokani up front since from what I've seen Niculae hasn't been better than PJY.

Saku, could you tell us about Malonga?

I didn't say Malonga's good... its just weird that a team would go out and buy 2 guys at the position of one of their top 3 players, then buy a third at the position that the player will get displaced to.

Hopefully it means PCY can work up from MBokani and let Niculae battle for minutes elsewhere.

Young african player, started at Nancy when they made the year of their history, they fought for the Champions League and he scored some goals, made some good performances but nothing stellar. Since that ... Nothing. Injuries + bad form.
He will be a sub I think. Park is a lock on the team. Bad news, he will play winger the whole season if Monaco keep winning.

Finding a customized jersey online is proving to be harder than I thought. Seems like the Monaco fans aren't as into online shopping as the rest of us...

Anybody know a shop in Paris that does customization?
