That might just be the most sensible thing they've done all season.

I was shocked and disappointed that she wasn't in the line-up yesterday.

as i posted on another thread...

shouldn't the coach be blamed for all of this? (i know your thoughts about the situation mookie141.)

he seemed to have the wrong players on offense in the starting lineup. there were no adjustments to the midfield in the first half when they were being overrun. and his system of marking in the box is unforgiveable, allowing opposing players to head the ball without challenge and then reacting.

thought she was one of the best players on the team last year. why was she let go in the first place?

I don't know why Parker was let go.

I would love to have the heart and nothing to lose attitude from last season. They have to play for eachother and play to win. The good news is we're not dead yet.

for the last time, the 09 team and this year's version are identical.
3 playoff games last year fooled everyone.

    YEAR-RECORD-GF/GA
    2009: 7-8-5, 19-20
    2010: 6-9-4, 17-28
    TOTAL: 13-17-9, 36-48

for the last time, this was, is and always will be an average team!!!!

Well at least they did what they had to do to win those games. It'll get better some day.

i know you're making the point about their record. but i don't think they're identical. last year i never saw the aimless and heartless play. and i don't remember a defense that couldn't mark in the box like i saw yesterday.

i acknowledge that it's possible that appearances may be deceiving - that they may be playing exactly as they did last year while the rest of the league has stepped it up another notch.

I don't think the won-loss records are that meaningful. Karen Bardsley saved their derrieres repeatedly early in the season, and they've been lucky to get wins and ties off own goals and such. My impression is that this year they're a worse team than their record would indicate.

Christie Rampone's thought for the day (well, yesterday). I think SBFC fans can believe that at least one player cares & will be giving her all.

Anyone know what this tweet from Rampone from earlier today means?

"It's funny how years of hard work, sweat, tears, disappointment and absolute joy want to be decided by people who have no clue, I mean none!"

So many ways that can be taken. The top two GUESSES I have are 1) Someone wants to make another big change 2) Others are not sacrificing therefore jeopardizing something she holds dear.

I am not Christie Rampone so I really don't know what she means by it. The only way one would know is if she was like "Hey! This is what I meant by that!"

    3) owners/sponsors that have no idea about soccer or the players and are making business decisions that is not good for the game or the club

    4) haters/critics who keeps digging holes for WPS or SBFC that determine the success or failure of the game/club despite not knowing anything about whats going on in womens soccer

    5) Riley - being unfortunately right in predicting the game outcome...

Christie makes a good point in her last tweet. We lost two team so why in the hades are they playing a season longer than last years?

If we were ever to have an official mascot, what animal do you guys think it should be?

This year's contracts covers the same time period as last year; ie the season last year ended a month before the contracts did.
the owners decided to extend the season and rammed it down the players. The WNT players were the most pissed.

I can't really blame them. It gives them less time off before qualifiers.

    She's on fire w/ the tweets. (what's her bigsoccer username ;) )

And agreed. One way to deal w/ the WWC next season is have a break and have the number of games they had per team in season 1.

And someone might want to think about unionizing....

I hope she has one. If she does frequent her I send my Mookluv!

They're going to have to have a break. No way they'd do good with all those ladies missing. I also think that the break should not been taken as a spring break. A team would be very wise to use it to build up the talent that stays behind.
